Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Sort the brass and slow down a might on the press. I've found that if I adjust the shell holder down enough to get the brass "non-wobbly", the brass doesn't always fit into the shell holder properly.
  2. Buy it and don't look back. If I can run a 550, anyone can run a 550.
  3. I have used the Accutrim.....Lotta work. The Redding was better, but still a lotta work. The RCBS is next on the block. I figure I'll eventually wind up with a Dillon...........
  4. OK this one happened to me.... Honest, I am the victim....... Me an a buddy were out boonie-hopping in the desert (we were 17) when said buddy spots a jack rabbit on my side of the car. He decides to cut one loose from his Dads 1911. Imagine what it's like hearing "Lean back for a second" just as the muzzle of the 1911 appears before your face inside an old VW Baja bug without a headliner or door panels. He missed the bunny.
  5. CCI. 400s or 41s? 400. I should have posted that.
  6. Thanks for the input! Good idea checking with Frontier. I haven't as yet.
  7. The primers just popped out. No piercing, cratering etc.
  8. Ah geez... Sorry for the triple tap.
  9. Firing pin is fine. I tested with factory ammo in the same mag.

  12. Can you give a layman's explaination of that. Specifically the short Leade VS longer throat issue? Brass is all trimmed to withing spec. Every stinking piece of it...(all by hand) I'm at 2.250 +/- for OAL
  13. OK folks. Having solved the dilemma of the IMR powder, I've run into another issue. I ran 50 rounds of the new load to test. The AR15 blew about 90 percent of the primers out, while the Mini 14 didn't pop one single primer. I'm running 23.5 grains of VV N-130 behind an SS109 using once fired Lake City brass swaged on a Dillon swager. All expended brass shows no abnormal signs of a hot load (cratering, bulging, splits, cracks, etc.) I'm thinking the swager isn't set properly, but the fact that only 1 rifle had the issue is making me second guess myself. Any thoughts or suggestions from the gurus here? All input greatly appreciated.
