Trail3
Set your AR up as featureless. That is what I have been running since 2006, with the U-15 stock. Just got the Thorsden stock in Friday for my next build. No need for a bullet button. When I go to Vegas for the Multigun Nationals, I put my A2 stock and pistol grip on in Nevada, change it back to head back home.
MikeRush
I just wish they had just made it a 10 round limit and gave us back the mag release for all firearms. Then 10 Rd mag changes would be okay, and while not the best, the rifles would be normal and no stupid button. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk While this has not been completely determined yet it appears that registered AWs will be able to retain their naughty features and ditch the magazine lock. If there is any silver lining to be found in this mountain of restrictions, that would be it. Well that, and getting really good at changing mags. Aussies seemed to do pretty well at WS despite shooting down under with 10 round mags. Once we see the registration form I will figure out if my stable will get registered or be configured featureless. My PCC is set up featureless but being able to wrap my thumb around the grip would be much better. Despite primarily being a pistol (and now PCC) only competitor this is going to impact all of us. Only the guys who shoot low cap divisions by choice are making it out of this round "unscathed". I am having an Open gun built right now. Looks like I will be going "bullets out" or having to gain some weight for more belt real estate... While the ultimate goal of Sacramento is likely elimination of AWs there is a provision to "de-register" guns after they become featureless, so that may be an option in the future as well, unless they get a featureless ban through as well. rustybayonet
Let's just say some of us will get really good at rifle mag changes. You can't have removable mags. I love Michigan. It's like the sass wild bunch shoot, I use a 1911 an 1896 marlin pump and a 1903 springfield.

rustybayonet
Man you fooled me. From the comments you made in this thread, your last post doesn't make any sense. It seems like you are gloating. They will not stop. My brownbess under the first clinton ban was an assult rifle, it had a bayonet lug.

No, that is the new definition of fixed magazine. Featureless guns are ok. Bullet button guns that get registered are OK.
Trail3
MIke is 100% right. "Featureless guns are ok. Bullet button guns that get registered are OK." I have been shooting 3 gun in California since 2002. Bought my first OLL in Nov 2005 from 10% Firearms at the San Jose Gun Show. They were the 1st to offer the Off List Lowers in California. DocMedic
Rifle shots might become a little more challenging and distant. They'll shoot pistol like a Lim-10 / Production shooter, and they're going to get really good at shotgun.
Slostang
So I hear "gunsmiths" are exempt. What are the requirements to become a gunsmith?

Dan Sierpina
So I hear "gunsmiths" are exempt. What are the requirements to become a gunsmith? I would imagine an appropriate FFL, state license, business license, proper zoning, regular hours.
BigBamBoo
Here is one of my coyote hunting rigs. Would make a ok 3gun rifle. Considered "featurless" and so far, exempt from the "assault rifle" ban here in CA.

Daft
Hope springs eternal, a referendum for November has been approved to gather signatures to overturn the latest CA gun law, so If you live in CA you need to find it and sign it.
Chip3
Looks like an Ares SCR lower.
GIO
Thanks Chip. That's it. Could be a fun build. looks like that Benelli rifle that came out a few years back.
Jimini
3 Gun in Calipornia will never die. I can't tell if that's for real or not. Do all stage designs suck in CA as well? There you go. bolt action is just another system to learn. kinda like shooting revolver.
v1911
Such a beautiful state. It's a tragedy what the fear-mongers are doing to that once great state. My parents just finished moving to NV from CA last year. My father is like a kid in a candy store with all the options he has available to him again. He's even considered reloading again. BigBamBoo
This is all very sad... On a lighter note - That is a sweet rifle BigBam. Care to share details? Stock, Lower? Lower is a ARES SCR with the Monte Carlo stock. Upper is a Gibbz Arms side charger with matching 15 1/2" hand guard. The current barrel it has now is a Proof Research 18" rifle length. JP bolt. Scope is a VX-6 Leupold in med low rings. I use it for coyote hunting, but it would work ok for a 3gun rig. The only thing is the mag release. I have a ambi mag release and use my left hand to drop mags as you can not reach the "normal" mag release without shifting your grip. Fun rig and is very accurate.
