  1. Kidding but take it all to Phoenix and spread it out in a Walmart parking lot walmar
  2. Reward the setup crew with a free or reduced price to shoot the match.
  3. A light above the powder stage so you can see if there is powder in the cartridge every time.
  4. I imagine anything you can buy cheap and local will work if its for shotgun or pistol. Use HP38 here. I use only federal primers, but for competition so dont' mind the cost.
  5. Not that I know what I am doing when the beep goes off, but carry more mags than you think you need and reload anywhere you are moving and never run dry.
  6. If you are buying ammo, then you need to tune your spring to it so it works all the time.
  7. For 50 bucks swap out the trigger spring and recoil spring.
  8. How far out are the targets in yards you shoot at, that may help with the budget.
  9. Google Hogdon relative burn rates. Includes different mfgs. In relative rank hp/ 231=28, unique=31, blue dot=51. You have a long barrel and better sight picture with the 35, and there is something about the bullet in the barrel longer to spin and be more accurate. Interested in what powder speed makes sense, depending on if its paper or reactive steel and the distance. A slower powder makes on paper.
  10. You could try out going to your local match with what you have a few times. Measure twice and cut once.
  11. I printed up a list of powders on the market and its ranked on burn rate not sure where I got it but google knows. I use HP38 aka win231. Its slower than tightgroup, I have not loaded 135s. I would load 10-each of my best guess up and down and paper it. Know what recoil spring you will use?
  12. Gerry made a point about how different mag lengths work for different scenarios so it makes sense to have 20s, 30s and plus
  13. Think about how long you want the barrel to be.
  14. Truth. Shotgun loading on the clock and hitting out past 250 yds with the rifle take practice and stamina. Get some dummies for the shotgun and practice reloading very slow, slow and almost fast. Thinking of going open so I can use a bipod and long range rifle.
  15. I use a .40 for the reason of running into these a lot. Did notice people doing much better than me by triple tapping 9mm. With your minor load you might to do it. Always change mags out to a hotter load for them. Basepads come in colors. It really helped me to shoot them at practice with no timer around.
  16. Does black oxide bring it better than stainless?
  17. magpul does not have the holes and I believe they sell a basepad with more capacity
  18. 15 yards is out there a bit. I vote trigger control.
  19. I think there is a direct relationship between the load and the recoil spring.
  20. Normal stage can be site specific. See whats happening near you. You will need a few more 30 mags at least. Then you may want a larger one so you do not have to change out mags, and you may want 20 rounders as they are shorter and work better with what you may be shooting off of. Pick a scope for your budget.
