Best Lubrication for Glocks

Hey all I trying to arrive at the best possible lubrication for my Glock17;

and by extension for all Glock users in general.

At present I'm using the Hoppes clear lubricant; its Ok but not the best; I

keep getting a sort of beading action sorta like oil to water something on the

crucifix on the trigger bar, connector etc. the main thing is that oil doesnt stay put.

When I was at the IDPA nationals PA I visited the Glock booth and the rep

showed me a grease for the working parts, connector, trigger bar etc.

but I cant seem to remember the name of the product.

What I do remember is that it comes in a sorta syringe type applicator

with a very fine tip for accuracy when applying.

Lets see what we can come up with.

You mean the Gun Butter, applicator? That has the little needle type thing to get all the spots. I use Heavy Duty machine Grease type stuff, the grease is pink but that crap works like a charm.

Tetra is what you're thinking of, I'll bet.

I've used Tetra in the past for the connector area. Now for that area, I grease it well with Slide Glide (standard) and a tad of a synthetic like Mobil One whenever disassembled. IIRC this is what Charlie Vanek uses on his superb Glock triggers. Between complete disassemblies I brush a small amount of Slide Glide (the lightest weight) into that area of the trigger bar-connector interface: I use the light because it has a little more oily mixture that seems to migrate down a little into the interface.

As far as the rest of the pistol, I just follow the Glock reqs for oil placement. Glocks aren't picky: I used Breakfree CLP, FP10, Slide Glide, etc. Now I'm using SLIP2000 CLP.

My Grease is taht stuff, i believe. Works in any weather. Probably not easy to find. I have used the Tetra and it works pretty well, a little too liquidy for me but it works.

Slide Glide when warm and Mobil 1 5-30 when cold. If you don't like the smell of the Mobil 1 FP-10 or WeaponShield work just as good and smell a lot better.

Slide-Glide #1 for Glocks, regardless of weather. I've got tubs near the safe and on the reloading bench --- as I also use it on the 1050 and 650 --- and a tube in my parts/tool/cleaning gear bag.

Mobil 1 for the magazine tube on the 1100, Rem-oil for everything else, as well as for the AR, essentially just because it's a better applicator. When I run out, I'll probably just refill the bottle with Mobil 1...

I just use BreakFree CLP, and never have had a problem.

You can use the Copper coloured AntiSieze Compound on the rails.

If you are intent on using grease, then contact MiliTec and get the free sample of their grease and the fill up a curved syringe.

FWIW 1 drop of oil will completely lube a Glock.

High temp bearing grease from wal mart. Works even in the cold and costs $2 for big tub.

Anything and everything works just fine. Anything sold in any sporting store, anything you get in a prize package, anything that is synthetic or even non-synthetic oil or light grease, etc.

There is no magic lube(unless you are selling it and make money off of it). Anything works just fine. If you are shooting in arctic sub-zero temperatures go with a lighter weight.

Occasionally I use motor oil

Other oils I love are M PRO 7, Milltec

If you could started with a clean stock Glock, and lubricated it with dog excrement, I would bet it would fire 1000 consecutive rounds of good ammo without failure.

Still, I prefer mobil one synthetic for all my guns.

+whatever for Slide-Glide #1

I used gunslick for several months then switched to Slide-Glide and immediately noticed a reduction in felt recoil and trigger mush.

Castrol Syntec on all my guns. Heat or cold don't seem to bother it.

FWIW, the GLOCK Armorers who were "Working" the BIG GSSF Match in Conyers, GA, back in September were using Breakfree CLP and Mil-Comm TW-25B...HTH....mikey357

I can't say enough good things about Slide Glide #1. Its slick, stays put, and will work in all weather conditions. I use it on all my pistols.....competition and duty. I believe in it that much.
