HI5-O
I didn’t think Open would have the most entries. I’m one of them. Did you count last years match for comparison?
ChuckS
I am thinking Open and limited run pretty close with open leading usually. Here is the data from 2017.

Swanny10
I’m going to catch hell for this but...my logical conclusion is that the Southwest is a popular destination for snowbirds and retirees. A group of individuals who often suffer from diminished eyesight. A group who would also benefit from a red dot. Hence, a majority of the participants are open shooters. Most of them don't shoot A2. They do shoot the weekly matches, although still not the majority. Edited October 7, 2018 by echotango

It certainly wouldn’t be the first time it was wrong. And I didn’t mean the all the open shooters were elderly. I meant that with the inclusion of that demographic in the area, it bumps the open category into the largest participated division. mont1120
I felt compelled to respond in the most strongest terms my objection to the egregious and terribly insulting statement made about older shooters, (myself, a convert to Carry Optics for a possible eyesight related malady, and would have done so far sooner, but finding my Wally Mart reader cheaters took a few minutes............
