j2fast
I've tried it and like it. Can't do regular diet soda, can't stand the after taste. Zero is an acceptable tasting way (IMO) for me to get my caffeine and not add an extra 500 calories a day to my diet.....
DJPoLo
diet coke with splenda is great! So Coke Zero is Diet Coke with Splenda? Wow, there's a lot of Diet Coke choices in this area. On a recent visit to the local supermarket, I saw on the shelves: Diet Coke, Diet Coke with Splenda, Coke Zero, Vanilla Diet Coke, Diet Coke with Lime, Diet Coke with Lemon, Cherry Diet Coke and Caffeine free Diet Coke! Phew! -Chet
BigDave
No, Diet Coke w/ Splenda and Coke Zero are different. Coke Zero uses Aspertame and "Ace K" (insider name) as sweetners.

TBF
Coke Zero comes in a close second to diet DR. Pepper for me. I like the diet cherry vanilla too, just once in a while. Travis F. Oh yeah, a blessing for hypoglycemics too...
dajarrel
IMHO the Coke Zero is lacking in taste. I still enjoy the "original diet coke"....Tab. Some of the 'not so young' will remember it. FWIW dj
Heath
Plain old Coke with plain old wiskey is pretty good.-----Larry <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm a fan of plain old Coke with plain old whisky in a glass as well. Lately, I'm starting to lean more towards just the whisky and the glass, though. I must be getting old, because I remember when I thought the taste of single-malt was one of the worst things imaginable.

dajarrel
You're right!!! Tab has a unique taste. When I said original diet coke I was refering to the time when there wasn't a diet coke and Tab was Coca Cola's diet drink. dj
Kevin Kline
I dont mind the Coke Zero, its OK. I like the Diet Coke with Splenda better. I like Diet Rite even better. Diet Rite has no caffine, made with Splenda. Coke Zero uses Aspartame (not good) and Diet Coke w/ Splenda is pretty good, but has caffine. Im trying to cut out the caffine, at least some of it. My neighbors are specialists in the medical field and they strongly advise against aspartame. Some is ok, but there is a fine line between having too much and then it is very bad for you. He said there are labels in Mexico about how much to take in, and how much is toxic.

Its funny you say that, because there are a squad of troops that came back from Iraq and less than a month of being here, started becoming very ill. The doctors here had a hard time figuring out what was wrong with them. They finally found out this squad had been drinking from several pallets of diet coke (with aspartame) that had been sitting in the Iraqi sun for months and had become outragously hot. Apparently the diet coke had sat in the sun for months and they had been drinking a lot of the diet coke over several months time. The doctors were confused because this had not occurred to any other troops returning except theirs. This was about 10 months after my neighbor first told me this. But it ran along the same lines with the same basic symptoms as my neighbor had informed me about. Just FYI guys, no written proof, but there isnt written proof for lots of diseases or deadly things until its affected thousands. Just letting you guys know what Ive been told, take it for what you will.
BigDave
One of the nice things about Splenda is that it is hi temp stable so you can bake with it (great for diabetics and hypogly's). Aspartame isn't hi temp stable, I wonder if it sitting out in the sun maybe broke down the compound?
driver8M3
i was being a bit facetious. aspartame is NOT dangerous, unless you have PKU. with the amount of aspartame ingested daily, if it was dangerous we'd have the biggest worldwide heath problem in history on our hands. i'd be shocked if anyone could show me even ONE well-controlled trial that showed any adverse health effects caused by aspartame. go here for some mythbusting: http://www.aspartame.org/aspartame_myths.html
