  1. Does anyone have an email or contact for Dave Soucie? Anyone who has shot in Florida, mostly West Coast of Florida (Tampa Bay area, Naples, Ruskin, Sarasota, etc)would know Dave. Anyone who knows how to get ahold of him, can you let me know. Thanks, Kevin
  2. Keep us updated on how it works with a lightened Wolff striker springs. Ive always tried a wolff rp spring, but I will get 1 in 10 light hits that dont go off. I put the factory striker spring in and it runs one billion %.
  3. Now an additional question. Have any of you shot plated bullets (Berrys or any other brand) out of the XDM? It looks like jacketed, moly/black are going to be fine, but now to know if plated bullets will be fine. i have about 7k loaded and they tumble like crazy out of my Glocks and MP's. Thanks,
  4. Anyone shot black/moly bullets (Black Bullets Intl or Precision) out of the XDM? Wondering how they did or if there was any issues, tumbling etc. Thanks
  5. How would Unique work with black bullets from Black Bullets International? How would the smoke be, (if anyone has tried)?
  6. Does anyone know how to contact Rodney May? I have a question for him about Sigs. Thanks, you can post here or send me a message. Kevin
  7. That's from last year (2008) and Shannon was too busy getting ready for World Shoot. I had A LOT of fun helping with Monster Match '07 and hopefully we can coax Shannon into doing it again this year... Well Sharyn, you would be the perfect person to "coax" Shannon.
  8. Tom, I saw on the price/info sheet given at Nats, you had a .40 140gr round, but I dont see it on your site. Are you going to have the .40 140gr black bullet? Thanks, Kevin
  9. Tom, I'm glad to hear you bought Masterblasters. I only had about 8 months of buying and shooting their bullets before he closed. I will say I liked his black/poly bullets a lot and they seemed to not smoke as bad as the Precisions. I like the Precisions as well, but the Masterblasters seemed a little better, just as accurate and did not smoke as much. Actually, I shot the Masterblasters side by side w/ the jacketed bullets, and they were very close in smoke, plus, I could load them a little slower and still get the same velocities. I hope Tom puts out the same type of bullets as Masterblasters.
  10. OK, pushing myself to shoot with both eyes open more, I'll try this drill and then PM Brian. I hope he still remembers Part 2 since this is old.
  11. All in all, I wish the mud was not there and conditions were different, but I always push myself to improvise, overcome, adapt and just deal w/ it. Great job by staff on the range, I appreciate it more than you know. Finally, GREAT JOB SHANNON!!. Brother, 4th in Lim and 3rd in Lim 10, awesome. We'll have to hook up when you're back home. This is a really good primer for World Shoot. Thanks to Sharyn also, awesome job w/ the live webcam and I enjoyed helping out while shooting. Sharyn, I told you I was not much of a commentator and next we know not to use my real name!
  12. Nice footage Sharyn! Who needs that nursing job, you should go into TV production. I can see why Shannon won the match, he had some great runs in there.
  13. I agree, Awesome job Shannon!! I hope Sharyn got some video??
  14. Ben, I know from living in Florida and working outdoors most of the time, even during the brutal heat/summer w/ heavy packs/gear, your body gets more conditioned to the heat and helps you deal with it a little better. You still cant ignore it, but helps condition your body for it a little better by living in Florida/Arizona and the hotter climates. People living in the hotter climates and dealing with it 8 + months out of the year are better conditioned for the heat, just like you would be better conditioned for cold conditions than I would with you living up north. Last thing, once you're what we call a heat casualty once, you are more susceptiple to it again so prepare even more for it next time. During our SWAT training days in summer Florida heat with 70lb packs on all day, you really work hard to stay hydrated/protected as much as you can b/c we dont want to be a heat casualty, even once, b/c then we are even more likely the next time. Everyone works really hard to not allow this to happen. We even owe each other "physical motivation" if caught w/out camalbacks or accessible hydration. This was just your wake up call, you'll do better next time, I'm sure. Oh BTW, CONGRATS on your Area 3 Production win!! Also, WAY TO GO SHANNON, VERY FLIPPIN NICE!! I hope you took some video of this match?? Where's it at Sharyn??
  15. I'm sure they all work fine like Flex said, but I switched mine out to Wolff's. Shooting minor, I wanted a lighter recoil spring. Also, Dave Sevigny changed his recoil spring to a Wolff, that says something to me. I don't know if anyone has more time on Glocks than Dave and him being a Glock sponsored shooter, it makes you think. When I took a class with Dave, he said he liked the Wolff spring and rod. He was using a 12lb recoil spring and had just begun trying the 14lb spring. I have to say that I like the cycling of the Wolff over the flat wire in Glocks. When I shot my Glock, I had 110% reliablility, I can't imagine something being more reliable. My MP is quickly approaching though, its been VERY reliable. But this is a personal decision and what feels good to one, may not to the other.
  16. Ben, When you finish 5th overall in Nats, and only 70 points from beating Dave and winning a National title, I'd say you're already up there with the big boys.
  17. MIke, My 9L front sight was a .190. It actually struck a little low for me and the POI was below the top of the front sight. I filled down the top to a .180 and it is pretty close to being dead on. I got Kenny's F/O front and it is a .181 high and hits perfect now. Great sight by the way, just like all the other fronts Kenny has done for me.
  18. Mike, you wouldnt look like that no matter what your answers/observation was, everyone overlooks stuff and this is an informational forum, so learning is trick here. Ive loaded my rounds to 1.160 since Feb and they have been flawless. I got that length from my buddy Jeff D. I ve also loaded my rounds to 1.180 w/ 100% function, Daniel Cook loads his to 1.185 w/ great reliability. When I measured the inside of my mags, I think I came up w/ something like 1.190 or 1.195, but it has been a while since I measured them.
  19. Emailed John Amidon and he said if they are not on the list, then it has not been approved. He also said don't listen to the scuttle butt and gossip. According to him, neither are approved. He did say he has been sending paperwork to S&W trying to get it approved, and hasn't heard from them. He said he has to wait on S&W to send the paperwork.
  20. When I chrono'd w/ my 9L, I shot 147 jacketed, 1.160 OAL, 3.5-3.6grs TG through the 9L, MP9, and MP9 w/ Storm Lake barrel. The 9L was in the 935-940 fps range. The MP9 was in the 885-890 fps range. The MP9 w/ Storm Lake barrel was in the 910-919 fps range. The 9L had a good 45 fps difference and the accuracy was better. The little extra barrel and sight radius makes a difference.
  21. Someone just replied to my post on SWshooter.com that the 9L IS USPSA legal, but not the Pro. Something about USSA getting paperwork/info from someone at USPSA that the 9L is OK, but not the Pro yet. Anyone confirm?
