New STI DVC Open and Limited guns

Wow nice! Looks like a great deal. Why would anyone pay $100 more for the HP Edge (no slide lightening, only 1 mag, non textured grip).

The answer will be told when these hit the ranges and guys weigh in on thier out of the box reliability.

Mr. Londigran builds uber reliable pistols, and his HP edge is an outstanding product.

Is the DVC Model enhanced by Brazos or out of the box STI?

I presume the DVC is being sold by Brazos as it comes from STI. My comment was in reference to someone comparing the price of the HP edge, which is worked on by Bob and the DVC which I'm guessing he is simply selling as an OEM product.

Regardless, I'm excited to see STI's new offering!

so anyone got comments on the comp design? very different with the forward most baffle being open at the sides and closed on top and the rear face of it so angled. I've not seen that before.

I know the T2 comp has been very successful for a long time. I wonder how this will work.

I'm seriously tempted to get one when possible. :)

btw, does it bug anyone else that on Brazos site it says "speed, precision and accuracy"? I'm assuming they are translating the DVC which is "Accuracy, Power and Speed" (though many say speed, power, accuracy). dunno, maybe I'm just being anal...

true, it wasn't their best work. But when I wanted to try a 9mm single stack, that's who i went with. don't think I would have made the same move if I had to bet on a Trojan. but now that I'm seeing how much other entry 1911s have gone up, might have to get over it.

I don't think SV has much to worry about

i do over here

By over here you mean outside the U.S. ?

That new DVC looks sweet but until it is seen how well it is fit, the quality of the trigger and its out of the box reliability is known, to wager on it taking business from SV is bad odds.

It does make me want to get my barrel sent out for a TiN coating!

The STI DVC Open is STI's top-of-the line Open Division pistol. Clean lines, smooth curves, a 2-lb trigger pull, and two competition magazines make the DVC Open pistol race ready. The bold aesthetics feature a hard chrome finish with a contrasting barrel/compensator in Titanium Nitride. Dramatic lightening cuts have been added to the slide to help reduce felt recoil and to make this the lightest compensated model in the STI line. An enhanced sear, hammer, and trigger mechanism produce a crisp, consistent 2 lb trigger pull with improved trigger reset. Responsive handling and control is achieved with specialty texturing and improved ergonomic grip design. The oversize magwell allows for quicker and easier magazine reloads.

The STI DVC LTD is STI's top-of-the line Limited Division pistol. Clean lines, smooth curves, a 2-lb trigger pull, and two competition magazines make the DVC LTD pistol race ready. The bold aesthetics feature a hard chrome finish with a contrasting barrel in Titanium Nitride. Dramatic lightening cuts have been added to both the slide and the dust cover to help reduce felt recoil and to make this the lightest model in the STI limited line. Hey guys! Thanks for the support. I will try to answer any question you might have. I'm at SHOT show so please bare with me on the response times...

Thanks

Dustin

Would you mind asking them how much the each slide weighs in ounces?

I am also assuming the holes on the top of the slide on the open gun are NOT for barrel ports, but you never know.

Thanks
