GreenDragon64
Just like the title states, I'm curious as to what the competitors are using. This winter I will be adding a low profile adjustable gas block, lightened carrier, lightened buffer, and maybe a different spring. Trying to figure which direction to go. Dan Sierpina
I'm running the lowest, a Rubber City Armory adjustable gas key. I didn't have to remove my comp, and if I didn't like it, two screws and it's off.
Iowashooter
I have a Seekins adjustable. I like it but to adjust it I have to remove the handguard but you should only have to do that once.
OPENB
SLR Rifleworks. The adjustment screw is on the front, so it can be adjusted with the tube on.
J.Schmitt
JP, and your correct that you need a few other parts, its a system and not just 1 part. Edited September 23, 2014 by J.Schmitt

I think they sell the syrac GB but I've heard enough bad about them to keep me away.

True...that includes the shooter and the load. Yes, I plan on spending lots of time at the press this winter also as it will be a break from one of the jobs and grad school. Quick question, the buffer action spring, does it need to be reduced power just like what you would change out for a pistol's recoil spring for lighter loads? I will end up removing the weights from my carbine buffer instead of puchasing a light buffer. Edited September 23, 2014 by GreenDragon64
Therealkoop
SLR sentry 7. Easy to adjust, better locking system than most. Extremely good customer service as well. I had an older version (SLR DA7?), that I user errored and damaged the detent. Not only was I sent a couple rebuild kits for the DA, Todd also sent me a brand new sentry 7 for free due to my troubles. My Sentry 7 has been doing real well. Shooter115
I'm running the BTE clamp on low profile adjustable right now. I don't have a ton of rounds on it yet (probably 600 or so), but so far its been solid at about half the price of many of the adjustable GB's out there. Bullittmcqueen
I have SLR sentry 7 on one rifle and Syrac Gen 2 on another. Both are great but I like the SLR a little better.

MarkCO
SLR Sentry 7. I really need to try one of these with all the recommendations they get.
OPENB
They are a little more expensive than Syrac, but nice. Easier to keep clean, spring loaded detents, Melonited.
dcloudy777
Is there a way to get the block that comes on the Colt Competition rifles? I saw a few of them at FNH last weekend, but I can't find one for sale without a rifle attached....
MarkCO
$1800 gas block for sale, comes with free rifle.
MickB
Interesting thing about the CCR CRP-18 rifles is that they come with the slick adjustable gas block, but a standard weight bolt carrier and H-buffer. Mick

Th3Un4givin
Just wondering if there was someone who had run both the sentry 7 and the Syrac gen 2 that might be able to share the differences if any, they both seem to be of similar design. Thanks! Edited September 24, 2014 by Th3Un4givin
Therealkoop
I had a syrac gen 1 that froze up. I tried to e mail and contact them a few times for tips/ideas but they never got back with me. Eventually i just purchased an slr unit and the two times i had questions i got responses within hours. Not only are my slr units better than the syrac- they actually help you when ypu need it. The gen 2 syrac is supposed to be less of a POS though.

MarkCO
My Syrac failed miserably. The only one I have used that is actually adjustable on a regular basis is the Noveske. Want to try the SLR and the Colt.
