  1. Sure. https://www.practiscore.com/results/new/bd49dafc-21a9-4f3a-b05a-fcf732cd5e27 Everyone had a great time, the young guy with the borrowed rifle won the Brownell’s rifle... I couldn’t have scripted it better. Folks are already asking me about the next one. I certainly want to do it again, but I also don’t want people to wait. I want this idea to spread everywhere. If it looks like fun, put a match together. I’ll help any way I can. DanO genxshoot@gmail.com
  2. Well, we pulled the match off. Everyone went home safe and seemed to have a great time. I’m pretty stoked.
  3. The best place is on the belt. Ankle and pocket carry is okay, provided a holster that covers the trigger guard is used and you don’t “cross your body” on the draw. The BUG is also optional, don’t forget. Honestly outside of Poly Blend division I don’t think it offers an advantage. Any other questions just ask, thanks.
  4. For over two decades, the shooting world has relentlessly sought the most demanding challenges, to create the toughest stages to bring together the finest highly-tuned athletes to wring out the pinnacle of performance from their bleeding-edge gear. The perfect competitive crucible to put the best of the best on display in the perfect multigun match. This is not that match..... https://m.facebook.com/events/646964325720846/?acontext={"ref"%3A"2"%2C"ref_dashboard_filter"%3A"hosting"%2C"action_history"%3A"null"}&ref=bookmarks

  8. Are you a cyborg sent back through time on an assassination mission? An ex-Green Beret dropped into the jungle to rescue forgotten POWs? Maybe you’re a Red Army trooper invading America, or a plucky teen fighting an unlikely insurgency against the Commie hordes? A battle-hardened mercenary fighting for the highest bidder, or an international terrorist sewing anarchy and destruction all over the globe? The possibilities are nearly limitless, as is the gear selection. Break in to the Surplus City back room and join: Ballistic Nylon Division: Any safe, functional period-correct centerfire weapons and accessories are allowed, including select-fire, autoloading shotguns, and period-correct magazines, sights, optics, and bi-pods. BN competitors must retain a fixed-blade knife with at least a 6” blade during all courses of fire or face continual stinging ridicule.
  9. Are you one of those drug smugglers Glen Frey made famous, or under deep cover trying to catch them? Maybe you’re operating illegally out of a hostile embassy, running agents and making foreign policy happen from the end of a gun? Or you might even be a top cop who can’t seem to stay behind your desk and off the mean streets, or the crime boss that takes too much of the business into your own hands. If this sounds like you, call your tailor and join: Merino Division Handgun: Revolver or semiauto, .38SPL or larger caliber 8 round magazine limit 5” barrel maximum Iron sights only, optical or electronic sights allowed No compensators or porting allowed Extended magwells, grips, or added weights not allowed Shotgun: Manual operation (pump, lever, bolt, break open) only 12 or 20 gauge 20” barrel maximum No more than 6 rounds allowed in the gun at any time. No compensators or porting allowed No optical or electronic sights allowed Rifle: 9x19mm or more powerful required 18” barrel maximum Select-fire guns allowed, but must be used in semi-automatic mode only 30-round magazine limit Iron sights only, optical or electronic sights not allowed Furniture must be of “factory” configuration: free-floated barrels not allowed Bipods or similar supporting devices not allowed
  10. Are you a trusted sicario, or a member of a hardcore criminal crew? Or perhaps a plainclothes cop, part of an elite stakeout squad or narcotics task force? Or maybe you’re dangerously playing both sides, swapping info to police in exchange for cover for your criminal activities. Either way, your weapons are what keep you alive and keep your enemies in fear. Load them up and join: Denim Division Handgun: Revolver or semiauto, .38SPL or larger caliber 15-round magazine limit Iron sights only, no fiberoptic, optical or electronic sights allowed No compensators or porting allowed Extended magwells, grips, or added weights not allowed Shotgun: Manual operation (pump, lever, bolt, break open) only Pistol grip only... shoulder stocks not allowed 12 or 20 gauge No more than 6 rounds allowed in the gun at any time. No compensators or porting allowed No optical or electronic sights allowed Rifle: 9x19mm or more powerful required Select-fire guns allowed, but must be used in semi-automatic mode only 30-round magazine limit Iron sights only, optical or electronic sights not allowed Furniture must be of “factory” configuration: free-floated barrels not allowed Bipods or similar supporting devices not allowed
  11. Are you a pavement-pounding beat cop, either because you’re fresh out of the academy or a grizzled vet that won’t take the promotion? A jaded detective near retirement age, that clings to your proven gear, or maybe you did take retirement and hung out your shingle as a gumshoe-for-hire? Or maybe you’ve chosen the other side of the law, and you’re making your way in the criminal underworld with whatever tools you can get your hands on. If this sounds like you, load up your sixgun and join: Poly-Blend Division Handgun: 6-shot revolver, .38Spl or larger No compensators or porting allowed Weighted or “overextended” grips (i.e. Hogue Big Butt) not allowed Iron sights only, no optical or electronic sights allowed Shotgun: Manual operation (pump, lever, bolt, break open) only 12 or 20 gauge No more than 9 rounds allowed in the gun at any time. No compensators or porting allowed No optical or electronic sights allowed Rifle: 9x19mm or more powerful required Select-fire guns allowed, but must be used in semi-automatic mode only 30-round magazine limit Iron sights only, optical, or electronic sights not allowed Furniture must be of “factory” configuration: free-floated barrels not allowed Bipods or similar supporting devices not allowed
  12. Hiya folks. I’ve been “out of the game” for a few years now, but I’m coming back with a vengeance. My friend Luis and I have been working on a slightly less serious and way more retro-cool match concept. He wrote this for The Truth About Guns some months back, and it got enough positive feedback for us to move forward: https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2019/01/luis-valdes/move-over-cowboy-action-shooting-gen-x-and-millennial-nostalgia-is-creating-a-new-type-of-shooting-sport/ Retro-Wave Shooting is going to be a thing, at least one big match worth. We nailed down our venue just today. More info: RETRO WAVE SHOOTING Generation X Marks the Spot! The concept of RWS is to provide a safe, fun, and inclusive competitive multigun environment for shooters to use iconic firearms of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, and to encourage the incorporation of costuming and personal “legends” of the Generation X era. Basic tenets: Guns and gun accessories (magazines, speedloaders, etc.) must be “period correct”, that is available or equivalent to that available prior to approximately 1995. To simplify this for handguns, if a gun has a “dust cover rail”, it’s not going to be allowed. If eligibility is questionable, the competitor can present a case for inclusion to a selected panel of match staff prior to the match. Clones and close functional equivalents of eligible weapons and accessories are generally allowed (i.e. newly-made revolvers). Carry gear (belts, holsters, ammo carriers, etc) need not meet “period” requirements, but must be suitable/designed for duty or concealed carry, no competition-based or “race” gear. (Staff panel approval of questionable). Period-correct costuming, carry gear, and personal “legends” are strongly encouraged, but entirely OPTIONAL. Ideally awards will be offered for costumes, but would be handled and judged completely separately from the scored match results. In order to maintain a competitive course of fire for both pistol caliber carbines and rifle rounds, the maximum range for all targets (except stage gun targets, as described below) is 100 yards. This also greatly increases the number of suitable shooting venues. Reduced-size targets can and should be used to simulate longer distances. Scored match targets will fall into one of the 5 following categories: Paper Short: Standard paper or cardboard target with two scoring zones, “A” and “B”. Can be engaged with handgun only. Target is neutralized with one “A” hit or two hits in the scoring area. Target is within 50 yards of the closest engagement position. Paper Long: Standard or reduced-size paper or cardboard target with “A” and “B” scoring zones. Can be engaged with handgun, rifle, or shotgun with slug only. Target is neutralized with one “A” hit or two hits in the scoring area, unless a shotgun slug or rifle cartridge 7.62x51 or greater, in which case one hit in the scoring area neutralizes. Target is more than 50 yards from the closest engagement position. Steel Short: Steel falling target such as a popper, plate, or similar. Can be engaged with handgun or shotgun with birdshot only. Steel must fall to be neutralized. Target is within 50 yards of the closest engagement position. Steel Long: Steel reactive or “called” target. Can be engaged with rifle or shotgun slug only. Target must react of be called as a hit by the RO (or designee) to be neutralized. Target is more than 50 yards from the closest engagement position. Stage gun target: Can be any safe, consistent target. Can be engaged with provided “stage gun” only. Target can be at any range and scored by any consistent method. Each target will be “pre-designated” as long or short range (and thus which guns may engage it), and said designation will be the same for each shooter, irrespective of from where the shooter engages said target. What this means is that the only requirement for the shooter is to have a handgun and either a rifle or a shotgun. Using a rifle and a shotgun is allowed and encouraged, but the shotgun (or the rifle) is technically optional. All divisions will allow the use of a back-up handgun. The BUG must be period-correct and chambered in .32 ACP or greater. 3-inch barrel and 5-shot maximum. Any weapon must be abandoned safely before any other weapon (including the BUG) can be presented. I’m almost done with the provisional rule book, we plan to do a FB page soon. Any questions or feedback, just let me know.
  13. I wonder if the latest "okay to shoulder arm brace" BATFE letter might eventually translate into letting the arm brace "pistols" into PCC?
  14. I don't really have much to compare it too except an old Colt factory mag block receiver, but I'm very happy with my CMMG Mk9 lower.
