Having pets!

I absolutely hate having pets. I hate that they give us unconditional love. I hate that they don't ask anything of us but to throw a ball or play with a toy. I hate that they are by our sides through everything with nothing but love in their hearts. I hate that they have to grow old before we do. I hat that tomorrow me and my wife will be laying our 14 year old Dalmatian to rest do to the fact that she can no longer walk do to spinal damage. It's just not fair that they have to get old!

Corey, sorry to hear that. Everytime I have had to do that, I swear I'll never have another, only to cave a few months later.... Think of of the good memories you had her, and know she's no longer in any pain...my condolences....

Ugh. So sorry to hear that. Just remember, there's no pain or physical ailments in doggie heaven. Just lots of toys, treats and a fluffy bed.

That is what I keep telling myself. She'll be up there with my Rotti until we get there!

Very sorry to read this. We lost our female a while ago. I still step over where she used to sleep so I don't step on her.

<<<She is on the left.

Dogs are the only creature on Earth who loves you more than himself.

So sorry to hear of your loss, been there way, way to many times with great dogs that will never be equaled in this lifetime.

Had to put our cat to sleep today. Cats don't really do it for me but this one was the one that my kids grew up with and had lived almost as long as they have. My daughter is 27 and my son 26. They were well under 10 when this cat adopted us and she was a full grown adult then. She had to be over 20 years old. We've had several come and go in this time, but this one was part of them.

I had to bury our little yorkie just about a year ago. When I laid her in her grave I cried like a baby and still miss her. Dogs and in some cases cats are just special, no doubt about them being like family. No doubt at all.

I Stood By Your Bed

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.

I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,

"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached out to me.

I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.

I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.

I want to reassure you that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.

I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.

To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ...

In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is almost over... I smile and watch you yawning

and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,

I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.
