  1. Thanks for the replies. I was able to get some 124 Gr. Montana Golds direct and also some more on Gun broker. Should be all set now.Good to know the Sig bullets are an option if needed.
  2. Running low on the Montana Gold 124 JHP I usually use, can I use 357 Sig bullets that are a .355 diameter for minor 9mm loads? This is for a Glock 34. Anyone tried this? What adjustments did you make?
  3. I had Brooks Tactical A-grip on my first gun. I've grown accustomed to skateboard tape now, but A-grip gives a good grip and it not gritty at all, it is really soft. You can buy it from Brownell's.

    Glock Q's

Don't put an extra.power trigger spring and a light striker spring in together for safety purposes. Don't put too light of a striker spring in with a stock striker unless you have a limitless supply of Federal primers. Lessons learned in my first few years of shooting handguns.
  5. My 2nd batch of reloads ever (only the last 20 or so out of 100) were pulled because of a similar issue. I got a really hot, smoky, smelly blast. I inspected other cases I tumbled and they had tumbling media in them(kind of crusting the wall). Not every case, just a few. It was new media and once fired pretty clean brass to begin with. I attributed it to being over zealous with brass polish, which caused some cob to clump. I quit using brass polish and drastically improved the lighting in my reloading area and have never seen this again.
  6. I am using a lightened striker, 4lb striker spring, 2 lb safety spring(i think), minus connector, and an extra power trigger spring. Seems to good to be true. It has not failed to reset in 400 rounds at the range. Very short, very light. Any thoughts on issues I may run into? It seriously rivals the super light 1911 triggers I have used/ owned. Edit to add that it has the Glocktriggers Challenger trigger bar, also the FP safety spring that came with that trigger bar, so not sure of the weight.
  7. I have a bone stock Yugo AK that I rarely shoot. Nothing special. I have almost sold it five times this year and I cannot bring myself to sell it. I am the same way with guitars.
  8. Do they take Para Mags? Curious as for how a 140 or 170 could be made/acquired.
  9. Titegroup for 9mm. Also convenient that I use it for 40 too.
  10. I am getting an emergency phone call right before teardown if one of these pops up in Ohio. Also pretty sure I saw some DQ action on the first shooter.....
  11. Very curious about this now that I own a gun with batteries. After talking about guns a lot and doing very little shooting for a few years, I think I am freeing up the time to do a lot more shooting next year and a good amount of dryfire practice this winter. Is once a month a safe bet, as the first poster suggested?
  12. How about a Big Lebowski themed match? Walter Sobchak is always dressed for an IDPA match
  13. I really like the Dawson adjustable rear. I use the black front sight from Dawson, I think I am going to switch to the fiber optic front for USPSA.
  14. I only brought it bowling. I didn't rent it shoes. I didn't buy it a beer. He's not taking your turn dude. -censored for forum-
  15. ^^^^ chronograph not chronology. Thank you DROID
  16. 1.135, 124 gr. MG. 4.0 TG. High 130's PF the couple times I have been to a Chronology with that load.

    Lightweight strikers?

Wow. Only six? Kind of inspires me to stay accustomed to the stock striker/ spring. Nothing breaks, and it goes bang every time.

    Lightweight strikers?

Any long term durability reports about the Lone Wolf from recent experience? That combined with the Glocktriggers.com Challenger makes for a very nice feel. I've only put a 100 rds. through mine, and probably a hundred or so dry pulls. Any one having trouble with these breaking? I've heard a couple reports, but is this common? I'm trying the 1911 world right now, but if I decide to shoot production again( I really don't like paying for 40 bullets!) I am curious if this striker is as reliable as other lightened strikers.
  19. I have ten for my production gun. I keep 5 on me. 5 loaded in the bag in case I get distracted and I haven't topped off the others or for spares in case something breaks. I bring a spare everything. I am far from competitive I just rarely get to go out and shoot so nothing short of a heart attack or a DQ is going to stop me from shooting all the stages:)
  20. I can go off playing live music and just having a general anxiety problem : I take the nervousness, turn it into adrenaline, and gain enthusiasm. In USPSA, I just say, ah I'm going to lose anyway

    Having pets!

I lost my Beagle back in February. I miss her, but I have a lot of happy memories of living with a crazy baying hound dog.
  22. Glock striker spring cups have disappearing power. Either that or my cats are waaayyy better at finding them.
  23. Dawson sells an edge chambered in 9mm. Another thing to consider if building a 2011 yourself is your level of gunsmithing experience. You're talking fitting a slide to a frame, fitting a barrel, installing ignition parts, fitting a grip safety etc. Etc. Then there is having one built to your choice of options in a fully custom gun. There are a lot of great gun builders in the competition community but you are looking at more money and lead time for that route.
  24. It takes two shakes on my primer flip tray to get them all flat
  25. I had to remove a little material to get mine in on my Glock 34. I had my front sight wobble loose initially. Had to retighten and reloctite. This was my first experience changing sights on a gun. I don't get to shoot much but I've put a couple thousand rounds through with no further issues.
