Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Have used both RMR and Cimarron bullets. Like both. Free shipping with an order of 3k from Cimarron helps. Jim
  2. Haven't been able to do any shooting at all. My friend who loads for us has had issues and hasn't loaded any rounds and I have been consumed with other things that I really have to accomplish. On positive side I got my professional license!!! The board was very kind to me, and I feel totally blessed. Have had to concentrate on professional responsibilities and the time required as well as lack of funds have put me on the side line for a while. Going to start working dry fire again. Even if I can't make it to the range, I can still work and improve for the next time I do get to go to the range. Hope you'all are well and having fun shooting!!
  3. Not likely to be able to shoot until next year. Just never seem to have enough money to get there on a Thursday. Guess I'll just have to keep dry firing and working out. On the positive side I just got my invitation from the board to sit for my professional jurisprudence exam. This is a very big deal, and news of the greatest order. )))
  4. Don't know anything about the way you shoot, but I really like the way you write! Happy, Merry Thanksgiving. Tar
  5. Well, one more Thursday coming and I won't get to shoot! ") Here comes Thanksgiving. I hope each and every one has a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for. "I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance, Never settle for the path of least resistance Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin', Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin', Don't let some he$$ bent heart leave you bitter, When you come close to sellin' out reconsider, Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance. I hope you dance...." Sanders and Sillers And now the wait begins. The board has a range of things they could ask me to do. Make up all my CE credits, 64, and take jurisprudence, that's one possibility. Re-take part 4 boards is also possible. Were the board to require me to take part 4 again it would require 6 solid weeks of study, and that might not be enough. If it's 64 CE's, I will be given 1 year. That's a pretty tall order considering the cost involved, and the amount of class time. It's also likely to involve some travel, and many of these courses are given around the country. Some even in other countries. Best to one and all.
  6. OMG!! Finally finished all elements of my board application!!! I can't believe it! Been working on that app for WEEKS!!! More like, 2 months...
  7. I'm hopping there's still some 3 gun to shoot during the remainder of the year. Seems this is familiar, bout the time I'm ready shoot 3g, the season is over and I'm sitting waiting for spring and things to crank up again. I'm determined to shoot some IDPA in the next couple of weeks. Decrease in rent will help. Getting my bud to let me load some on his loader will help. Change of jobs, back to my profession will help. WoW, the Margaretta Ball just has to be one of the best parties in the country. Key West for Halloween, Mardi Gras in New Orleans for a spring party, Margaretta Ball for presents for the children pre-Christmas. This is an event that should be taken nation wide! Three floors at a big hotel, 13,000+ presents for children from 13,000 people, 1/2 of which are the most beautiful women you have ever seen, in the most stunning dresses ever, and the Margaretta's flow like Niagara falls!!... I mean really... "Come in she said, I'll give you, shelter from the storm." Was invited to a pre party in the hotel for the first time this year. Had a GREAT time. Was so nice to be totally surrounded by people from my profession. Never got to see the lady I'm fascinated with, too many people, to many bands in too many rooms. She did text me a pic of her in her beautiful dress... Ouchhh, HOT!! "Tangled up in Blue." My date turned out to be a total surprise. I was just looking for a date for the ball. Someone to have a little fun with... Well did I ever get a surprise. She was funny, charming, warm, sexy, easy to be with and just HOT! "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need." Now, off to the gym this week, being in better shape definitely improves my shooting. Personal goals for the week: Clean house/Move? (again??!!) Finish my app for my license. Hit the gym. Greet people like my dogs do.
  8. Well, missed another Wednesday shoot, and a Thursday shoot.... shoot!! My bud loads our ammo with the brass we pick up, his projectiles and my powder, and he hasn't been shooting in a while. I'm going to have to work out something with him where I can use his loader and load some myself. Traffic is a beach going to the Thursday shoot, but at this point I'd walk burning coals to get there. Might have a new place to live. Not wild about it, it's further out, very small but 1/2 the rent... Don't know yet how this is going to turn out. The lady I was very interested in, we have gone full circle. I told her I was done trying to reach her, trying to get to know her, good bye, and she said, "not so fast, perhaps I was a bit hasty and we should know each other better." I think like a cat, she hasn't had enough of playing with me before the kill! But what can i say, I'm totally fascinated by her and put up with way to much! Fortunately, there are a bunch of ladies that I'm getting to know, so waiting on queen bee isn't holding me back from enjoying my time with wonderful people. Big Ball tonight. This will be fun, with lots of free Margaretta's, beautiful women in beautiful dresses... what can I say! Must be Christmas is on the way. That scares me a bit I must admit.
  9. Got all my paperwork turned in, but found another log in the road!! Man this has been tuff!!! Going to see if I can't move it out of the way today. Didn't get to shoot Thurs, came down with the flue. I am so sick! WOW! This is bad. From what I have seen at the shop it's vicious but not real long lasting. I'm very grateful that I only had to work with this one day and get the weekend to recover. Ruff flu. Amazing body aches, some difficulty with balance, walking, driving. Very short tempered, which is unusual for me, I'm pretty easy to get along with, and a big hit on my memory. Yesterday it took me quite a while to remember the password on my computer. The same computer I access EVERY DAY!! Oh well, I'm better today.
  10. 1 Day until my app goes in!! Every step seems so hard. Weird websites that don't work well and explain nothing, on and on and on... Really hoping to get to shoot Thurs.
  11. Didn't get to shoot Thurs, but I think I will be able to on this Thursday. Going to work hard this weekend and this week with dry fire. Think I'm also going to be able to start working out at the gym after work this week. The fingers on my R hand are very sore. Holding a welding gun all day seems to introduce inflammation into the muscles and probably the joints also. Seems most of the welders are having the same problem. There is a new vibe at work. A new guy has come in and he is quite mellow and doesn't play the games that the reminder of the people like to play. Things have improved greatly. 5 days until I submit my app for my new professional license.
  12. Going very hard for me a work right now. My boss knows I'm leaving soon to get back into my profession, and he's really taking it out on me. Good thing I can take it. Going to be a ruff month. Least there's time off with Thanksgiving coming. Hope to shoot a match next Thursday. I'm working through some dry fire exercises.
  13. Knocking down the lumbering giants one by one. Feeling blessed when they fall. Realizing the vital importance of being in shape at all times. Self defense begins with self...
  14. Wow E, that's an amazing quote!! I'm quite surprised anyone is allowed by the rules, to shoot in sandals and even more surprised anyone would choose to shoot in them. Most shooting sports I have been around, one would never be allowed on the range in anything but some kind of shoes. Any kind of accidental discharge into the ground anywhere near a foot, being in sandals would be a bad thing. I know a world class skeet shooter who removed a toe accidentally. Further, sandals have little to zero ankle support, and in a sport like ours where foot work is important, ankle support is also important. All I can say is, if Ben is this good in sandals, think how good he would be in shoes!!! Scary GOOD!!!
  15. Haven't been able to get in any shooting as of late, this for several reasons: First, nearly all my mental effort and much of my physical effort is going into getting my professional license. It is taking every single penny I have and then some. I expect to be eating Ramon noodles for at least 2 weeks, (again...) and am still a little short. Need to pick up some extra work somehow, and it's crunch time. I can't wait, for regulatory reasons, and can't fully move ahead being short financially, and this is putting me between a rock and a hard place. Of course triggering all the security and control issues I can muster. My truck is giving me trouble. I hit a curb last summer, and severely threw my front end out of alignment ruining the tire and this needed to be taken care of. Got a tire the other day and going to align the front end this weekend. Also I had the great idea to flush my radiator. Unfortunately all I was able to accomplish was flushing all the gunk out of the block, and into the radiator where it proceeded to clog the thing up terribly and having all my cash tied up in getting my license, my solution is just drive to work and back which it is able to do, thankfully. On the positive side the engine computer is now functionally properly since the temp here has dropped below 90. Before, when it was around 100 the engine would quit every day on my way home leaving me sitting on the side of the highway for about 20-30 min until the computer cooled enough to get the engine started again. Fall has bought me some time to handle this issue until more $$ comes in and I can fix it or get a new car. Had to do some grinding for a day and a half at work, and this has my right hand and wrist so sore I can barely open or close my right hand. Have lost about 90% of strength in my R hand until the inflammation subsides. Was unable to open a can with my R hand tonight, too much px too weak. Work tomorrow is going to be fun! Uggg. Oh well, I bought the ticket, I'll take the ride. Lastly, my bud that I was shooting with has some personal issues and isn't shooting right now. He was using his equipment to do our loading so I am ammo-less until I can get my own loading equip, or he returns to shooting. Doesn't matter anyway as all my cash is tied up in getting my license and I couldn't afford the range or match fees anyway! So where does that leave me... Doing some dry fire and starting this week, after all my license components are assembled and mailed, I'm going to start working out at a gym close to work that I have access to. Sometimes when you are paddling, the tide is coming your way. On those occasions holding steady in the stream and not getting pushed back is the best that can be done. Then later when the tide changes again, head up stream like a bat out of hell! Right now I'm just marking time until I can take off and really move ahead. Tar
