Tom D.
The NRA's Shooting Illustrated has had articles on the subject, mostly by Bryce Towsley. Overall, it is the best firearms magazine going. IMO, of course. Most are just glorified advertising copy or 'general interest' articles.
larry weeks
Bryce shoots the sport so he understands. I agree, SI is a great gun magazine.
GIO
The new "recoil" magazine is ok. GUNS and American Handgunner are pretty good. Anything paid for by Ad space is going to have a lot of bias/bs. Forums like this on have the best info (my opinion)
dmwphoto
also read premier issue of Recoil magazine and it is OK. I get more here than from the magazines but find I need some of the ads in the magazine at times.
Joe4d
I was gonna say front sight. and it just occurred to me I havent got one in quite awhile,, wonder whats up. I am so sick over tired old 1911 stories over and over and over. SO basically I dont read any of them. The reviews are biased waste of inks. BritinUSA
The last Front Sight came out at the beginning of March... If you did not receive one then I would check that your membership is up-to-date and then send an e-mail to USPSA so they can fix it.
gunguru
I received G&A for about 20 years, and pretty satisfied. But I have to admit than I start fouding there is too much advertisement... I calculated it few month ago, and more than 55% of the pages are ads... and I only calculated half and full pages. I like AR too, but somewhat too political for me (as I'm not in the US). But as Gun Rights are a world fight, I'm a proud canadian NRA member, as a proud canadian UNPACT member (France organisation).

Modoc
I have been reading Wolfe Publishing's Handloader and Rifle magazines for a long time. They are a bit specialized, but I have gotten a lot of good information out of them in the last 30 years

GIBB I have an inherant distrust of all gun magazines. Seen way to much crap published in those things that was totally false. Also you have to notice most gun magazines never have a bad thing to say about any gun because they rely on advertising dollars and as a result never tell it like it is. Rather they paint a rosey picture. Plus gun magazines have gotten expensive. I used to pick some up when I was flying somewhere so I could read on the plane. Some of those magazines are close to $10 each. I have found I can get much more current and accurate information but going online and visiting forums like this one. ArmdCtzn
I haven't bought a gun magazine in years. And I love magazines, but not at current prices. The Innerwebs has made magazines obsolete, I can't really believe they sell any at all. The best information and coverage on 3Gun is right here on Enos or over at 3GunNation on AR15.com where you can even watch the TV show. Much better than just a magazine. Lead-Head
I get American Rifleman and American Handgunner. Niether is good for more than about 5 minutes of thumbing through and then I am bored with it. If I get both in the mail on the same day, and take them both to read at the same time, they might last through one trip to the bathroom. Being from Kentucky, I'm not much of a reader. But having over half a magazine of adds, then dedicating 3 pages to the Ayoob files, where he describes how a bunch of escaped Zoo animals are gunned down by the local cops, as if it was the battle for Falushia... yawn. Fenrir
I currently get American Rifleman, and Front Sight magazines. American Rifleman had a series of articles on a pistol, shotgun, and rifle builds for 3 gun. Other than that not a ton of articles on 3 gun stuff. Front Sight lately has been having articles on 3 Gun alot especially the last one which had a ton about the last USPSA Multigun Nationals. Gun magazine wise I really enjoyed Surefire's Combat Tactics, S.W.A.T., and Recoil. Some of their articles do feature equipment or guns that can be used for 3 gun. Most other magazines I find I only thumb through and maybe read one or two articles, and thats it.

Linear Thinker
My highly opinionated opinions about the gun rags, based on nothing other than ~35 years of reading all and sundry: G&A - chewing tobacco ads Guns & American Handgunner - high production values, decent articles, nice gun porn (Ichi Nagata set the standard for what the gun pictures should look like decades ago). Handloader - deteriorated tremendously over the last 15 years. They used to publish science-grade articles, but now seem to cater to the G&A crowd. Still, a decent read. Rifle - see Handloader. Shooting Times - see G&A TAR / Precision Shooting - a bunch of old guys complaining about the good old days gone. Pistolero / Handgun Tests - my kind of magazine, but sadly out of print for 25 years MGN/SAR - deteriorating slowly but steadily, now gone to quarterly edition due to inability to fill the monthly copy, and due to the chairborne commando crowd getting their news from ARFCOM Front Sight - no hard information, but no chewing tobacco ads. Notice for the On-topic Police: All of the above magazines are multi-gun relevant, except for the Handloader. co-exprs
Gun magazines are written for those who don't know much about guns. Once in a while, I learn something about some obscure rifle, I am unfamiliar with and interested in, but for the most part I learn way more by reading in forums and showing up for different types of matches. Thus I prefer car magazines, such as Performance VW and Grass Roots Motorsports.
