    Doors

And if you decide to use your feet to block the door open, make sure to not touch the ground past the fault line and get a "significant advantage"... especialy on a 3 rounds per target stage.
  2. Finaly, i bought 2 safariland 775, thanks for your help.
  3. Safariland are out of stock on optic planet and are 45$ on amazon.ca. Yes, it´s costly here...
  4. I currently shoot in production, but I plan to go in Single Stack instead. I have a Blade Tech DOH 1911 holster on a CR Speed belt. But I cant decide about the mag pouches. I should go with CR speed with spacers, but as I will shoot Major, I will need at least 5 mags on belt (6 should be better), I dont want to get short ammo on a long popper stage, or just get screwed by a malfunction jam... But the available space on my belt is limited by waist size, and CR Speed took too much space to my taste to get 5 or 6. I made some research, and I think 90 mag pouch should be a good option. I have the opportunity to get 3 different models (Im in Canada, available gear is limited). I want your appreciation and comments? Did you tried some or all, do you have picture? Heres my choices: 1. Safariland 775 I should put 2 on my belt, or 1 with other mag pouchs. (about 100$ for 2) 2. DAA Racer Single Stack (175$/5) 3. DAA magnetic Single Stack (165$/5) Thanks for your help!
  5. Is it only me or this stage is not legal at all....? 8 paper, 8 poppers and 2 texas stars... If I count well, I get 34 shots. The max isn't 32 in both IPSC & USPSA rules book? .
  6. 75$ for a 9mm box???????
  7. Production, with a CZ SP-01 shadow
  8. May sound low achievement, but I'm pretty proud to say I'm now a C shooter after only four L2 and one L3, in less than a year. I started IPSC in Feb 2012... Next step, ending scrapping one stage per match and get constance... to get the B.
  9. Too cool. I remember a movie with Christian Slater (sorry, I don't remember the movie name) where he's a "private" police officer in San Francisco, and during the final scene, one of his collegue shoot with a pistol... slide locked back! And yes, he shoot with the flame blast and recoil, but the gun was open... Or more recently, a movie with Robert deNiro and Jason Statham, tje movie was supposed to be in 1980, and they shoot M4 and Glocks... Maybe the M4 should be XM177, the a glock still a glock, weird in '80.... Too funny...
  10. I don't wera cap very often, I have a lot of hair so I have a natural sunscreen. In fact, I wear one for the opposite reason, I wear it when it rain, it keep rain out of glasses and eyes.
  11. The worst part of a missplaced mag change is to get the focus following the mags on the ground... I did it at the Quebec Provincial last week... I had a good and agressice plan, but I don't know why, I pushed the mag release after 2 target, and sith the mag went my focus ... leading me to forgot 2 classic target and 2 poppers... 100 pts penalties... Plus another miss further due to frustration. And the RO tried to warn me legally by giving me a long "iiiifffffff Fiiiinnnnnnissshed, unload and show clear" , but too bad, I didn't hear him due to frustration... But I take it very Zen after all. I asked myself 2 questions: #1 - Marc, did you have fun shooting this stage, and do you want to have fun shooting the remaining 5 stages...? #2 - Marc, did you learn something out of this experience? After answering myself yes for both question, I relaxed a bit and was pretty good on following stages, with 2 of my best stages scores.

    Remission

After a 2 year fight, 2 major surgery, 3 radioactive treatments and lot of pain, my wife finaly received the soooooo desired verdict: Cancer Remission!!!!! This F.....G thing is gone away!!!! So a great news!!! TOOOOOOO HAPPPPPY!!! (now, I have to buy a new gun to celebrate! ;-) )
  13. If the RO is aware, he will stop you right away... It happen to me at the Quebec Provincial L3, two target activated by a popper, but one rope was forgoted in the reset...
  14. Sponsorship isn't really about your shooting, yes it will be easier if you shoot straight, but isn't that important. The MOST important thing for a sponsor, what they search, is someone to sell product, no more, no less. They look for your Public Relations skill, not your shooting skills. You can be a GM, but if you stay in your corner, not talking to anyone, you aren't a good candidate. They search PR guy, the guy who talk to everyone, and know everyone. They want the guy who will remember the name of the D class shooter meet last year, and as this guy know his name he will feel important and may buy the "put product here" on the PR guy shirt. They want the guy who when a shooter will tell "I feel my CZ trigger is heavy" will take him to the CZ stand and get him the required spring, and will tell the salesman "give this buddy a good price, he deserve it by using our product", by this, the CZ ( or any other product) will stay with this company... They want a non selling sales person. A PR, an representant. I know some sponserized shooter, and know what, they are sponserized because they believe in their product and they will show it.
  15. Might be legal in USPSA Prod, but not in IPSC production...
  16. Here's the contact list, I'm sure they will be pleased to help you http://www.ipsc.org.au/Contacts/contacts.html Or you can join the IPSC global village, and ask your point there, and for sure someone will help you.
  17. Each region (section) manage is classification system, based on IPSC standards (ICS). In Quebec, it's based on L2 and L3 matchs. Best four L2 match count for 40%, and the best L3 count for 60%.
  18. Easy.... don't do like me!!!! A L3 Quebec Provincial this week end, i got "0" on a particular stage due to ... 4 FTE!!!! On a long stage (32 rnds), we got like 6 shooting "bay", I make a pretty good plan in my head, as we started in the middle, I planned to shoot #3 (4 rnds), then go to #1 (4 rnds), reload and go to #2 (8 rnds), then do the remaining.. nice plan but on the 1st shooting bay (#3 - 4 rnds), don't ask me why, I dropped the mag... and said to myself "heeeeyy stoooopid, what are you dooing!", and that's it, the focus was away, I went to #1, reload and go to # 4 and continue... What's wrong? I forgot the #2 shooting bay, 2 target and 2 poppers.... result... 4 FTE : -40 6 Mike: -60 + due to bad concentration: 1 more miss... Penalty + lost points = 145 pts.... so I got 0 on the final... The worst, the RO tried to tell me I forgot all those, but in my frustration I didn't understand his " ifffff Finnnnniiished, UASC....", I got A look of the target in front of me, but forgot about the ones behind me.... Too bad.
  19. May sound silly and counterproductive, but slowing down a bit may help you, it will give you few seconds to get an overview and make sure you shoot everything. 2 or 3 seconds on a long stage are not a so big deal, and will cost you less than a FTE + 2 mike (and a potential 2 A... it mean 40 pts!!!!). Rough in long stage you can expect 3 pts / second, so as long you take less than 10 second you will earn points!
  20. Finaly, after a full Windows recovry process, it work, now begins the hard part of cleaning the factory set-up and reinstall all SW....
  21. Yep, but be sure to not forget a dummy round in the chamber... and discover it at the safe area!
  22. My mother in law dropped my laptop this weekend.... and as you suspect, it cause some damage... No physical or visible damage... but brain damage! My computer start, goes up to the windows vista green bar, show the cursor and... nothing more, only a black screen! I tried to load it in safe mode, regular mode, I ran all memory test available in boot option, make sure everything seems well connected. Then I try F11 and recovery mode. In this, I found the Checkdisk with the recorery module, but as he ask me to dismount C drive or something like that, I prefered to wait until some research... and by luck, the recovery module included a prompt window, with DOS command. It's where I'm happy to be an old vegetable knowing the basic DOS command. I was able to copy from HDD to my USB backup HDD all needed file and create a backup... phewwww. My plan now: Tonight after work I will try the Checkdisk, and then a partial recovery (windows check and repair), if it not work, I will try a full recovery (back to initial set-up, windows reinstalation). Will see. Any other idea???? Laptop HP900, 3 GIG ram, 250 HDD, windows Vista.
