  1. Call Sig and they will have you send in a pic. They may well send you a bolt just on the photo alone but I'm not promising that. If that is 1,000 rounds on that bolt either there is something seriously misaligned or your friend is using gravel as lube. I have over 7,000 on mine and it does not have that much wear. Just saying the broken bolt may not be the problem but rather the result of a different problem. That break looks like the result of a lateral load where there should not be a lateral load.
  2. It'll buff out. Seriously though, I have never heard of a catastrophic failure like that. If it is a new gun that seems like an awful lot of wear on the bolt, at least in the picture.
  3. I will say I have never heard of anyone getting dinged for this, other than the obvious cases of shooting .223. Take a look at the warnings for most, if not all of the target manufacturers' products using AR500, the most common steel in pistol bays. They carry a warning not to exceed 1500 fps with pistol ammo. I imagine this is where the limitations I've seen are coming from.
  4. Yeppers. I was surprised when I saw that restriction the first time as I am damned close with my Open gun as well.
  5. Before you get too excited about the USPSA max velocity be aware almost all ranges will limit you to 1500 fps on steel in pistol bays.
  6. Yeah, I still run the light trigger pull Hiperfires and between my two friends with JP reduced weight triggers they have broken 5 firing pins (pretty high round count guns).
  7. Yeah.. it is nice enough with some cloud cover and the three days a year we have that here I'm sure it would be fine. :-)
  8. Just a random thought here, and I am sure there are a multitude of causes, but those of us with Hiperfires set at the lightest trigger weights are not doing our FPs any favors. The hammer fall energy with that combination is around 20% heavier than a stock AR trigger. Just sayin'.....
  9. That looks really nice Eric! Quite welcome on the Holosun. ;-)
  10. Ahhhh... so one would take the frame mounted optic off to convert it to a limited gun? Sorry, I missed that in the vid.
  11. This thing may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, well, at almost 7K sliced bread at Whole Foods but here is an absolute truth and a question: The leading edge of technology is often the bleeding edge of technology. How many top Open shooters do you see using a slide mounted optic?
  12. So are you saying you are having a hard time? LOL ;-)
  13. It is. Very easy to zero also. Very well made.
  14. It does have really nice glass. I found found the dot to not be bright enough in AZ sun and it is quite heavy.
  15. Like the title says are you guys finding moly rounds leaving more crud in your comps to clean out? I do know the usual comp tricks of spraying it with lanolin based case lube and to clean after every session but just overall, do you see an increase in deposits vs JHP/FMJ?
  16. The issue with the early RTS2s was that the battery would temporarily disconnect under recoil forces which effectively turned the unit off. After several other attempted fixes the V4 went to dual capacitors which maintain a current to the unit during these brief interruptions of power and keep the unit powered up. There are plenty of reasons to prefer one over the other but the old issues of the RTS2s turning themselves off are just that, old issues that should not guide your decision.
  17. Tim, I think you misread the post. It says they were in the truck, not on the truck. You can put metal mags anywhere in the sun on a 120 degree day. You probably won't be able to pick them up without welder's gloves, but that is a different issue.
  18. So Brian, that was on a cool spring day?
  19. Been there, done that. No worries. I've seen you say 1.12 before and I do love that recipe!
  20. Yup, that was why I was suggesting swapping barrels. If a new/different barrel resolved the issue that would make the barrel the first thing I considered. Glad you got it squared away, or at least are getting the barrel back to be looked at.
  21. Sergio, has the pistol always done this or is it a new and exciting trick? One other thing you might consider is putting the carbine barrel in the pistol receiver and see if it functions then. That should narrow your search for the problem down a bit. Or maybe not. :-)
  22. Hey Scott... 1.16 or 1.12? I've heard the 1.12 with that combo before. Just checkin'
  23. ...or frankly perceived recoil when you are on the clock.
  24. I have a friend who purchased one of the aforementioned magazine extensions. (Okay, it was the MBX but I think it is irrelevant to the story) Put it on an ETS big stick and it was puke-a-rama city. Nothing could make it reliable. Took it off and put it on a factory Glock 33 rounder and it runs perfectly. Every time. I realize this is just one/two mags out of 1.8 bazillion so probably not a statistically significant sample but it does raise the question about blaming a single mag manufacturer. I do think tolerances are greater in the magazines being used than the extensions but that is about as far as I would go.
