  1. I don't know what all the fuss is about. Go to 4:38 and watch some old fart (nuthin' but luv Richard!) kick it's ass with an iron sighted Sterling.
  2. Sooooo...... love all the posts. Would you guys say the Atlas shoots differently than your prior Open guns and if so how? Inquiring minds want to know.
  3. That stock sure is short! LOL... Seriously though I think you missed Classified Ads be a bit.
  4. And I was wrong on the quarters thing now that I think of it. I think it would push the the rod forward. Oh well.......
  5. Is it just me or is this an $87 solution to something that a stack of 4 or 5 quarters quarters could do equally well??
  6. Actually this is my preferred way to go from stage to stage, but the cart isn't a bad second option.
  7. It is my favorite. Clean at 3.5gr. Comparable to N320. Because it is flaky you can see some larger ESs, particularly at very low (under 3.0) charge weights. Hasn't been an issue for me. Very good accuracy at 25Y, and minimal dot bounce. I have a friend who tried TG and at the loads for PCC it was massively dirty in his JP. Noticeably more than in his pistols. Of course YMMV.
  8. Not over a chrono. Just 95s, 115s and 121s. I shot some of my buddies' who tried 147s and didn't care for how the carbine ran with them. Probably still should have chronoed them.
  9. Funny how it varies. I ran a MG 115 JHP on top of 3.9 E3 at 1.132 out of a 14.5 JP and was getting @ 141-143 PF.
  10. It completely looks like your cases are not sealing into the chamber. There are a number of potential reasons for this including ultra light loads but since you are using factory ammo I doubt that is it.
  11. Yeah, not sure that is where the problem is but thought if you had a spare it would help diagnose. Sorry!
  12. I'll pile on. I think the case looks more like an out of battery detonation. Not sure if you can slow the events down in your mind, but do you remember pulling the trigger before the detonation or is it possibly going off as the bolt slams home? Do you have another 9mm bolt assembly lying around or that you can borrow?
  13. The slideride/railways tend to loosen their windage locking screws under the impact forces from major PF Open guns. Then the windage adjustment screw just does its own thing and wanders around. It doesn't happen all the time but odds are greater at major matches and increase exponentially by how far you have traveled to the match. LOL. They are much less likely to do this on minor PF guns but I would still put a small star washer under the locking screw. This has held zero on my Open gun since I put it on. I have not heard of this issue on PCCs.
  14. Interesting. I picked up over 10 PF with 121s and E3. You are correct though, different barrels, different results. The chrono is the only way to know for sure.
  15. The concern of course is the lower rear edge of the followers. Mine are aggressively chamfered and I was still hanging up going into the extension. I could see where it was hitting on the extension. I resolved this by taking a file (NO DREMELS!) and exaggerated the chamfer on the rear edge of the extension all the way around to where it widens out a bit. I also extended the chamfer back just a bit towards the retaining pin. Not much material off at all but more rounding the edges off. Take a little at a time off. Material gone is gone forever. I now get 41 in the mag and no issues coming back up. Warning: Do this at your own peril. YMMV Taran probably thinks I am an idiot for doing this. Only available with this TV offer. Might cause unsightly rash, excessive thirst or a useless mag extension.
  16. Negative Ravage. 128 in your pistol load will be more in the JP. Chrono to see but I would guess that will be 140ish PF in the JP.
  17. Sorry, option B unless you really like the extra line.
  18. I like green fiber optics but in bright sun a green dot gets washed out to me. Then again, I have vision I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
  19. 35 doesn't sound right even with a fresh spring. I could see not getting the last round in but not 4.
  20. For my two cents I like a heavier stock. I prefer the balance with one. If you want to be empirical, take both stocks to the range and run drills with both. Let the timer decide. How it feels is really important when we are picking out our bed, less so when we are deciding what is the faster gun setup. ?
  21. Chuck. Nope, have not fired any rounds throughs the MPX with my major loads yet. It is is a very healthy round though. Around 172-175 out of the Open pistol. I wouldn't consider shooting it out of a blowback because, well, 185+ PF doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun or particularly healthy for a blowback ? , but my MPX sees much less gain in velocity over my pistol and is way softer at any given PF. I'm not inclined to mess with it at all though unless there is some competitive advantage to shooting big boy rounds. Max clearly makes the point though that the 140ish PF I normally run out of the MPX will get a spinner over quickly enough if I do my part. Big if, but still... You are right though. Lets see someone say the comp doesn't work on a PCC with that ammo!! David, I think the weapon would be fine at major PF. I know a local shooter (and he is here on BE) who has shot 15K plus out of an MPX at around 165 power factor with no ill effect.
  22. I should probably be clearer in my question. I can spin them no issue with minor. I'm more wondering if the extra pop of major would could make it faster. Then again, I am already @ 145 so probably not worth messing around with it. I am always too willing to make something simple, complex.
