  4. can you tell me more about this reloading course/law thanks
  5. i just looked a the camdex site and now my SDB record of 400 rds/hour just doesn't seem to be so great
  6. i will pass this info on to a couple of local brass rats who pick up each others .45 brass, maybe it will keep their feelings from being hurt
  7. what is bigger than the shooters connection bag, i tried one but it wouldn't fit the stiff belt and holster, here in Canada we have to have the firearm in a hard locked case and this takes up more room most guys here with the shooters connection bags walk around with the belt and holster over their shoulder i won a green mountain bag and gave it away because it didn't have the room for the belt and holster
  8. the primer chute is open to the front and if you don't have a piece of tape over the chute the primers will sometimes fly out and not into the cup, there are other more elaborate modifications with tubing replacing the whole chute and cup system
  9. the other must have is the low primer sensor, and make sure you get enough primer tubes and there are other tips about modifying the spent primer chute with some tape to guide the primers into the cup
  10. when i read the topic i thought you were talking about spiking the football after the touchdown, maybe do a little dance
  11. i bought a used commonoli tungsten guide rod and it broke, so i sent it back to commonoli just to see if he knew what caused it and he replaced it for free, he was concerned about the thickness of the buffs I was using and since I did what he told me, no problem I don't know the exact setup but I am sure it would be different for my Para compared to the SVI anyways
  12. am i looking at this right, the only difference between the open gun stages and the limited stages is a different name for the stage?
  13. he is available through Club de Tir Ville St Pierre sometimes if you are lucky, contact Mr. Marco Pendenza , or Max Viviani Tel: (514) 365-6163 Fax: (514) 365-8870 email: ctvsp@total.net , www.ctvsp.com
  14. second match as MD = lessons learned i got through the second match in better shape this time, i was able to find the right people to help and from the last match experience assign the best suited jobs to the guys who wanted to help the squad times were perfect and the quality of stages was far superior than the first go around. i had the master class shooter go through it for safety and gaming setups, that helped a lot. next match is Sept 21, and I am looking forward to giving everybody an even better setup
  15. I am on my 12 th pound of Titegroup as of today running 4.7 gr of powder in my Para 16-40 with 180 gr TC cast lead bullets, some guys have said that it is smokey, so I did the test, I had the video camera and took video shooting different guys with different loads, I couldn't say that mine were any more smokey than anybody elses.
  16. the videos are great, without video it would be impossible to describe the bicycle powered turret, thanks cairo
  17. need registration? send it up here, the Canadian system has guys who have registered soldering guns and water pistols in the new system
  18. Sunday was my first as Match Director, I am still digesting everything that happened and figuring out what has to be done for next month's match do other match directors have secrets for success? i have to work on stage designs - they look very different on paper compared to the range - get to the shooting - no 90 traps - freestyle-freestyle-freestyle squad times - how long does it take for a squad to shoot a stage - how many shooters/squad range staff co-ordination
  19. i watched Double Tap and it is an interesting movie, it almost uses IPSC instead of kung fu for good vs bad guys, well i guess that is basically what life is all about anyways
  20. my experience is a bit different, Canada we have a few clubs looking at IDPA but we just don't have the culture for it, IPSC is growing in numbers and I am glad that we lose a few members sometimes, the sport isn't for everybody.
  21. since the first video of JJ doing it, i wonder how many wasted hours of dry firing time was done trying to perform this feat?
  22. matt the style of teaching that is on the video is "hard to swallow" it is different from what I thought I would see, I thought I would see more of you or another good shooter shooting and not the Kevin guy who looked like he was trying to do things wrong and then you correcting him and kind of making fun of him i haven't seen vol4 yet but i look forward to it
  23. if you had to choose between only owning one or the other then I would still get Shooter Ready with TGO, I think new IPSC shooters should not only learn about shooting and how to play the game but we should also spend time learning about the history of guys like TGO, our man Brian and the originators of the sport, Matt's DVD is good but the best part is vol 3,
  24. Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit - Undercover Operation Identifies Gun Traffickers TORONTO, April 10 /CNW/ - A 14-month undercover operation resulted today in the arrest of 13 persons in the Greater Toronto area for trafficking and conspiracy to traffic in firearms and other related firearms offenses. Project PUN, conducted by the combined forces of the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU), uncovered a network of individuals who worked with a licensed establishment to divert legally possessed firearms into illegal crime guns. In conjunction with this investigation 16 search warrants were executed this morning in Toronto, Hamilton, Oshawa, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Gormley, Aurora and Apsley. Over 100 officers from PWEU, Toronto Police Service, Peel Regional Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, York Regional Police Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Hamilton Police Service, Waterloo Regional Police, and the OPP Organized Crime Section were involved with these searches. During the course of the Project PUN investigation, handguns, machine guns, silencers and ammunition were either purchased or seized. Serial numbers were removed from handguns making them an attractive weapon for use by the criminal element. In addition, some of the handguns and machine guns were equipped with silencers. Firearms with obliterated serial numbers or equipped with silencers have no legitimate use to collectors and are by definition true crime guns. The Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) has been in operation since 1994 and consists of 12 agencies: Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, Peel Regional Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, York Regional Police Service, Hamilton Police Service, Waterloo Regional Police Service, Ottawa Police Service, Canada Customs and Revenue Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. The unit's mandate is to reduce the flow of illegal weapons available to criminals by gathering intelligence, identifying distribution networks and taking enforcement action. The following have been arrested and will be charged with: -i am not going to list the names of these people as i think this is a witch hunt and i wish the charged individuals good luck and hopefully this is cleared up and reputations restored
