  1. okay we fixed it on the slide stop we made the an indent for the plunger pin so that it would hold the slide stop in the down position even if mag adjustment isn't exact and the follower puts some pressure on the inside of the slide stop, when the mag is empty the slide stop functions as it should and everything else is the same even when taking the gun apart or putting it back together
  2. clark you missed my guys www.wolfbullets.com www.higginsonpowders.com
  3. dales para 16-40 locks back with one round left in the mag, slide stop has been replaced and now what else could be causing this? now my gun is doing it with a couple of mags consistently, are there specific dimensions for the mag feed lips, i can adjust the feed lips but i would like to know to what?
  4. I had to get a few parts for my Para 16-40 Ltd and Caroline at Para Ordnance took my order and within a week everything was here without any hassle or problems. I really appreciate the way they looked after me a truly no BS lifetime warranty. Thumbs Up!
  5. k.i.s.s. that's what i thought chriss, but the peltor tac 6 muffs have to be taken apart to change the batteries and i think i am going to break them one of these times i know i should have bought the dillons thanks shred i will use my tester to hook up after the switch, if it works i'll post a pic, if not i'll end up getting the dillons sooner than i thought
  6. i did some work with steve russel a master class shooter on this and what he tried to teach me was exactly what ron said, getting to the shooting position quickly and being ready to shoot at the same time, there are shortcuts that the more experienced shooters take advantage of like shooting on the move and taking all the targets possible from one position there were also other tips that we went through and on the timer our target to target transitions could be cut in half if we accepted the minimum sight picture for the shot and called it
  7. I have a pair of Peltor Tac 6 electronic earmuffs that I forget to turn off all the time. Has anybody wired in external LED's on these things and could tell me how to do it?
  8. I use titegroup, lead bullets and slide glide in my Para 16-40, I tried not cleaning and then my chamber got so full of junk that I could barely rack the slide with a round in it. Am I doing something wrong to get stuff in the chamber. To clean it out I have to scrape it out.
  9. JRB, i think your wife just let out the secret on how a womans mind works
  10. I just watched the DVD's today and of course the best part is the interview with Brian. It just made me have to go reread the book again. The rest of the tapes cover the basics and continue to drive home the right ways and wrong ways of doing things. The style of teaching is a little hard for me to swallow, I guess you have a guy like Kevin to show the common mistakes, or we would never think of what it looks like to do it wrong. I also have Pistol Masters, Shooter Ready, and How to Shoot Fast and Accurately, and I like them better. In Shooter Ready you can't even compare Burkett to Leatham when Rob goes prone, you know he is into it.

  12. 27) In practice try to go full out, just to see what its like, and then try to go even faster 28) try the 50 yd+ shots in the routine, 29) don't get brought down by somebody elses bad attitude, if they don't want to try, then that's their problem 30) Full mags all the time, do not put empty ones back in your belt. 31)Make sure you see all the targets before you shoot and know your plan to shoot them 32) If reloading your own ammo, know that it is all good, if in doubt buy an electronic scale and weigh it, and chamber check it. 33) Have an "on the line" routine especially in practice, go through in your mind the same thought everytime before the timer starts 34) Zero the sights 35) Understand the COF, and know what has to be done
  13. when we were looking at buying houses last time, we looked at one that backed on to a pistol range, when I told the realtor about the range he didn't think he could get anybody to buy it, i guess some people don't see easy access to the range as a selling feature (go figure)
  14. do not use gun scrubber spray on plastic pieces of your press, it turns into a sticky gooey mess, (should have read the label)
  15. I've been watching some of the old videos like Pistol Masters and How to Shoot Fast and Accurately. The interviews that Lenny does with Brian, TGO and the rest of the best are true today as they were 15 years ago, being a great shooter is not magic but just plain work and dedication. I've heard the excuses that the good shooters are just naturals, the only way to make it look natural is to practice. TGO keeps saying in the interviews how he has drawn the gun a million times, and you just know its true. I haven't seen the Matt Burkett tapes yet but I bet the fundamentals are still the same. - I have seen the Burkett tapes and the fundamentals are not the same! Matt does more on techniques than I thought he would have.
  16. I am loading some 40 S&W once fired brass on a Dillon SDB and I am having a problem with Federal NT brass, the sidewall of the primer is staying stuck in the pocket, there are a few different kinds of brass in my mix and the only one that is doing it are these Federal NT. I bought the brass from wideners.com. So there must be others out there with the same stuff. What is the difference between regular Federal brass and the Federal NT?

    Snake Model

The Differential Theory of US Armed Forces (Snake Model) upon encountering a snake in the Area of Operations (AO) 1. Infantry: Snake smells them, leaves area. 2. Airborne: Lands on and kills the snake. 3. Armor: Runs over snake, laughs, and looks for more snakes. 4. Aviation: Has Global Positioning Satellite coordinates to snake. Can't find snake. Returns to base for refuel, crew rest and manicure. 5. Ranger: Plays with snake, then eats it. 6. Field Artillery: Kills snake with massive Time On Target barrage with three Forward Artillery Brigades in support. Kills several hundred civilians as unavoidable collateral damage. Mission is considered a success and all participants (i.e., cooks, mechanics and clerks) are awarded Silver Stars. 7. Special Forces: Makes contact with snake, ignores all State Department directives and Theater Commander Rules of Engagement by building rapport with snake and winning its heart and mind. Trains it to kill other snakes. Files enormous travel settlement upon return. 8. Combat Engineer: Studies snake. Prepares in-depth doctrinal thesis in obscure 5 series Field Manual about how to defeat snake using countermobility assets. Complains that maneuver forces don't understand how to properly conduct doctrinal counter-snake ops. 9. Navy SEAL: Expends all ammunition and calls for naval gunfire support in failed attempt to kill snake. Snake bites SEAL and retreats to safety. Hollywood makes fantasy film in which SEALS kill Muslim extremist snakes. 10. Navy: Fires off 50 cruise missiles from various types of ships, kills snake and makes presentation to Senate Appropriations Committee on how Naval forces are the most cost-effective means of anti-snake force projection. 11. Marine: Kills snake by accident while looking for souvenirs. Local civilians demand removal of all US forces from Area of Operations. 12. Marine Recon: Follows snake, gets lost. 13. Combat Controllers: Guides snake elsewhere. 14. Para-Rescue Jumper: Wounds snake in initial encounter, then works feverishly to save snake's life. 15. Quartermaster: (NOTICE: Your anti-snake equipment is on backorder.) 16. C-17 Transport pilot: Receives call for anti-snake equipment, delivers two weeks after due date. 17. F-15 pilot: Mis-identifies snake as enemy Mil-24 Hind helicopter and engages with missiles. Crew chief paints snake kill on aircraft. 18. F-16 pilot: Finds snake, drops two CBU-87 cluster bombs, and misses snake target, but get direct hit on Embassy 100 KM East of snake due to weather (Too Hot also Too Cold, Was Clear but too overcast, Too dry with Rain, Unlimited ceiling with low cloud cover etc.) Claims that purchasing multi-million dollar, high-tech snake-killing device will enable it in the future to kill all snakes and achieve a revolution in military affairs. 19. AH-64 Apache pilot: Unable to locate snake, snakes don't show well on infra-red. Infrared only operable in desert AO's without power lines or SAM's. 20. UH-60 Blackhawk pilot: Finds snake on fourth pass after snake builds bonfire, pops smoke, lays out VS 17 to mark Landing Zone. Rotor wash blows snake into fire. 21. B-52 pilot: Pulls ARCLIGHT mission on snake, kills snake and every other living thing within two miles of target. 22. MinuteMan Missile crew: Lays in target coordinates to snake in 20seconds, but can't receive authorization from National Command Authority to use nuclear weapons. 23. Intelligence officer: Snake? What snake? Only four of 35 indicators of snake activity are currently active. We assess the potential for snake activity as LOW. 24. Judge Advocate General (JAG): Snake declines to bite, citing grounds of professional courtesy. 25. Signal: Tries to communicate with snake...fail repeated attempts. Complains that the snake did not have the correct fill or did not know how to work equipment a child could operate. Signal Officer informs the commander that he could easily communicate with the snake using just his voice. Commander insists that he NEEDS to video-conference with the snake, with real-time streaming positional and logistical data on the snake displayed on video screens to either side. Gives Signal Corps $5 Billion to make this happen. SigO abuses the 2 smart people in the corps to make it happen, while everybody else stands around, bitches, and takes credit. In the end, General Dynamics and several sub-contractors make a few billion dollars, the 2 smart people get out and go to work for them, and the commander gets what he asked for only in fiber-optic based simulations. The snake is forgotten.

i guess the only time guns and liberals are being used together up here in the peoples republic of Kanada is when they are making more laws to hassle me with
  24. this would make ipsc a tv sport, i always found it too boring to tape and watch later, the real rush is being behind the pistol and you wouldn't have to worry about the RO getting in the way of the camera... hey that's it what about an RO helmet cam?
