  1. I have no desire to shoot ppc in a regular USPSA pistol match. A stand alone match with longer shots and some more difficult targets would be better.
  2. I usually let the RO know that I have trouble hearing the beep. Some timers I can easily hear. Only once did an RO give me a bit of a hard time, but it worked out.
  3. What is the "tactical" division that they list?
  4. I have never shot in PCC. Would most of you prefer to shoot them in a standard USPSA match, or do you think it would be more fun and challenging if there were stand alone PCC matches with some longer and tighter shots mixed in or whatever else to challenge you? You might also get shooters that only want to shoot pistols in regular matches.
  5. Our local monthly match use to have around 5 in SS and 5 in L10. The top SS shooter does more 3 gun now and is shooting somethin else. I would see someone with a 1911 hoping for another SS shooter, but then notice their 10 round mags. Last weekend there were 9 or 10 L10 and me by myself in SS. I might shoot L10 next month unless I see more in SS.
  6. I have a couple L frame 6 shots with speedloaders. I only shoot them in ICORE matches. I seem to have a much harder time on moving targets compared to with a semiauto. Challenging and fun. I enjoy shooting my 1911 to much to dedicate a year or more of just revo although it would help me improve.
  7. My 2 regular clubs are about 1 hr. drive. Another is about 2 hrs. and 15 minutes. But I'm retired so that makes it a bit easier. That's about how far I'd go for a monthly match.
  8. I have been loading 4.9 gr wst and 200 bayou swc. At matches with chrono it's been at 175- 177 pf. I've loaded some at 4.8 but haven't tested them yet. Shooting a Wilson cqb 5".
  9. Can you now remove the firing pin block because not all models of the same gun come with them?
  10. I would prefer that production would be closer to a stock division. But, I don't see how you can reasonably deal with compliance with all the available trigger work, hammers, etc. that are available.
  11. I was going to be headed there today from northern California. My 85 year old mom had severe anemia. Back and forth to the Dr. and hospital for three days.Transfusion yesterday. Had to cancel. I went to it in November. Mom has dementia and in a wheel chair. She doesn't understand what's happening. Next year.
  12. Thanks. Got a room. Trying to get some practice in.
  13. What's a decent place to stay at when shooting at the Rio Salado club. I have not had good luck. Nothing fancy but clean with fridge and good tv. I'm willing to spend a bit extra if needed. Thanks.
  14. Mine fits. Can't imagine it would be a problem.
  15. What if the shooter appears to shoot a great stage, but a couple of pasters fall off? Reshoot?
  16. Bsand. Maybe I'm thinking of an IDPA rule. Our local club is having a USPSA RO class next month that I'll be taking.
  17. Don't you have to load to division capacity unless the instructions specifically tell you to download? Taking the RO class soon.
  18. Absolutely. Ego isn't the only reason people don't compete. But It is a factor in keeping some shooters away.
  19. Of course you don't witness the effect ego has on people not shooting matches because a huge percentage of them never show up. So nothing to see. Some shoot their first match, don't like the result, and they're done. Some shooters, myself included, show up at their first match without any big expectations about their result. It was new to me and i don't make a bunch of assumptions about something I don't know about. I had fun and wanted to improve. Now I shoot USPSA, ICORE, IDPA and some SASS.
  20. Zzt. So are you saying that the main thing holding back new shooters is that they are afraid of being dq'd for a safety violation. Do you require they shoot to slidelock before reloading so that they only reload with an empty gun, in case they get their finger in the trigger guard?
  21. A few different reasons. My younger friends with small kids and jobs find it difficult to spend the money and time for a match. Understandable. Most gun owners shoot very little, if at all, period. But. I know a lot of guys that get out and shoot and I know they would love it, but they're just nervous to get out there in front of others. Some are comfortable being known as the "gun guy" within their circle of friends, none who have competed..
  22. It's my understanding that once the 10 round mag limit becomes law the USPSA affiliated clubs would have to limit open and limited to 10 per mag. I suppose a non affiliated "action match" could try to ignore it. Don't know how long that might work.
  23. Will they be using fault lines now for the new classifier?
  24. The fault lines will be mandatory at any level match? Correct?
  25. What about giving priority to classified shooters vs unclassified shooters within each division? Mark
