  1. I just picked up 5k from them. Works out to .05 ea because they had free shipping at the time.
  2. Yikes! First time I’ve heard that but your secrets safe with me. Should have cut a clean hole in the target if it would have made it though. Glad you didn’t get hurt.
  3. You certainly have that right!! My wife fell and broke her hip in July. We went to the e-room to get an X-ray and at the time her knee hurt worse than the hip. Well they didn’t see anything so they put her knee in a brace and sent us home. No one thought of looking at anything else for the cause of the pain. I took her home and made her as comfortable as I could and sort of checked her out myself. We even went to an orthopedic Dr and he just tugged on it and said it probably was an impingement. She said if that leg would have worked she would have kicked him in the balls when he pulled on it. She finally had enough and we went back and told them to X-ray the whole leg. Sure enough she broke it on the neck of the ball so we went to the local hospital 40 miles away that does surgery and waited another 2.5 hrs in their Emergency Room. Of course it had already been over 10 days so what’s a couple more hrs. Like you said you have to just constantly push push push to get anything done.
  4. Really makes you want to grab them by the neck, drag them all it to the same room and ask them WTF? Of course then they’d all sit there, not say anything and just look stupid.
  5. If we were all like Samone Biles we wouldn’t have to think about all this stuff when we trip up. Just do a triple and land it. I find myself really paying attention when crawling around on equipment anymore. Be safe and heal well.
  6. Don’t kid yourself, that shipping charge has the hazmat in it, and then some.

I guess my ritual is to do a lot of cussing before I go get my tools.
  9. Generally if it’s just a single squib from a light load it will not bulge the bbl nor slam the slide back. I’ll bet you have 2 slugs in that bbl or something that was obstructing it. That’s why the high psi reaction. Whenever you try and remove a stuck slug use a heavy hammer like 2 lb. A heavy hammer pushes, a light one peens. A cold rolled rod with the end edges slightly radiused and as close to bore size that you can get will work fine without bore damage.

I know everyone is wired a little differently and I’m not knocking anyone’s rituals but for me the more I think about it the more I end up thinking of the procedure or rituals than actually what I need to do. If I’m going fishing the next day I try very hard to get things ready the day before and just do a simple walk around before we leave. I guess you could call that my ritual. If everything has been double checked the day before there’s no need to check it five more times the day of. I also know that I won’t be competing with the top notch guys so if I screw up… well I screwed up and that’s a learning experience. And your correct, a Tick is an involuntary movement that you have no real control over.

Reminds me of Belushi in Animal House.
  12. Or 1/4” 500. It doesn’t weigh any more than 400 but should last longer and would hold up to a larger caliber if it accidentally got popped.

In everything I do the more I screw with it the worse I perform. It’s like it distracts me from what I should be paying attention to…..like the beep, green light ect. Just stage and Go. My hunting friend says every time he over analyses a shot ie (how far is it, what’s the wind, should I take a neck shot ect ect) he’ll miss every time. Just pull up and BLAM it’s on the ground. I’ve seen him do it many many times from 50-200 yards.
  14. I had bought up several powders for rifle, shotgun and pistol before the pandemic. Just saw that Varget is now $67 per pound and I think I payed $17 a pound for a #8 jug. The other thing I noticed is that there’s not much discount between a one pound or eight pound jug, and on some items the larger quantity is actually more.
  15. Glad to hear you figured it out and didn’t shoot anymore. Something along the reloading process must have gotten messed up.
  16. I think most of it started with the manufacturers putting “DO NOT TUMBLE LIVE AMMO” in their owners manuals. I remember reading that in the one for my vibratory cleaner.
  17. 800x Isn’t anywhere close to HS6 In appearance, burn rate maybe.
  18. That or put them in the closest available box. That load is closer to HS6 or AA7 and those two would definitely be easy to distinguish from 700X.
  19. @OneWay Think it was Heat Stop. I may even still have some. It was a light wet clay like material that really did absorb a lot of heat. Was similar to some of the stuff they use in furnace pots to protect the bricks.
  20. Are you sure it’s 700X in them?
  21. Is that from the same place that said Lake City was not making commercial ammo anymore too? The way there’re going it won’t make much difference. I would think that Red Dot/Promo are two of their biggest sellers volume wise to trap shooters and neither one has been available for a long time. That’s probably why though.
  22. I’m older than you but put me in your Will anyway.
  23. Yes, a vague measurement of time.
