  1. I’m thinking that 244 is part of the “clean” enviro friendly push on powders and may replace 231/HP38. My testing of it got interrupted but it showed promise. One thing I did notice was that the recoil felt a bit sharper than 231, But I hadn’t chronoed the two loads, and the 244’s certainly could have been faster. It does seem more energetic than 231 though. I have several to re-test when time allows.
  2. That’s the way I do it at home. Mags and whatever is laid out first, gun is loaded and made ready last. Just makes more sense and things don’t get forgotten. If there’s a problem up range the shooter is asked to stand by keeping pointed down range. If it’s something time consuming then ULSC. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Sad to see them close. I had just gotten some to try and had ordered some more when I found out they were done. I would have ordered more if I had any idea they were closing. In my guns they are more accurate than blues.
  4. That tool is more for squaring up the bottom and correcting the depth. It will remove the crimp ring but is a real PITA doing so. The Lyman VMD reamer actually works the best overall without a swager.
  5. @Atlas3310% off coupon for today & tomorrow. CATCHTHETHIEF https://rmrbullets.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=46bd159e5327319f22187e6db&id=8c22b15e7e&e=0b53be97c2
  6. All I know is if you search on here you’ll find a lot of post complaining about having to clean the Smurf poo out of ports and other coatings too. Apparently it melts and welds itself to the ports.
  7. You just don’t want to use coated with a ported or comped bbl. You can but it gets ugly.
  8. I do mine on a Lee APP or if there’s just a few, (50 or so) I’ll use my RCBS swager. Some of those like you said have a hell of a crimp and I’ll use the 60 or 45 countersink on them even after the swager to radius the edges to make priming smoother. If your setup on your 550 to do it and their light that may be the way to go with the amount you have. I’ve never used a 550 so don’t know about that. Most of the time the 45 CS will get down in there and do the job. I’m like you, I have a hard time tossing brass unless it’s totally unusable.
  9. Is it a 60 or 40 degree countersink? I’ve done that with a few when I’m too lazy to dig out the swager and it works. You may have to do more than just touch it though. Sometimes that crimp squeezes down a bit below where you can see the ring. A gauge works good for checking them. https://ballistictools.com/store/original
  10. Some sort of internet lies that they had to clear up? I hadn’t heard anything but maybe some of you in the know have?
  11. On the holstering I was referring to a previous discussion about shooting RFR & RFP in the same match and where shooters wanted to simply holster their pistol instead of bagging during the rifle portion.
  12. I also wondered why a chamber flag wasn’t used in a RFP being’s you don’t drop the hammer. Only problem I see is most won’t fit in a holster with a flag inserted.
  13. Have you given them the bent paper clip test to see if they have been overly stretched? Could have been shot in a huge chamber.
  14. The CBC will definitely change things. It’s thicker and tougher. Going by the volume chart helps keep velocity consistent. I have a few that I’m still checking to see how they compare with each other too. Some brands are made by the same companies too, ie Starline and Buffalo.
  15. Looking at that it appears that the round is too long. It’s hitting the ramp forcing the nose up before the rim can clear the mag and start sliding up the breech face and under the extractor.
  16. Silhouette isn’t quite as fine as TB but you usually use about a tenth less for the same or a bit more vel. Six months back or so there was a bunch of it around and no Silhouette.
  17. Don’t know if this will help but in my XDM the RMR 124 MW is touching the lands @ 1.107 and the JHP Nuke is at 1.080.
  18. The RMR Nuke would be their JHP. I think the nose is a bit fatter so you may have to seat them deeper. I’ve shot them and they’re as accurate as the MW.
  19. I eyeball the bell (M die) by setting a bullet in a test case but I do measure the crimp. I don’t have a set measurement on crimp because there’s so many variables. Usually I crimp .002 under brass diameter .1 below the mouth.
  20. 2X^^ like the match winners, nice clean holes.
  21. Think that’s what I’d do. I really like the way the M die works and if they make a funnel like it that would be the kitty’s butt. I tried some seat/crimp with coated and it just made a mess.
  22. Sounds like they have crimped pockets. Got a picture of some? I processed a bunch of misc brass and noticed that some of the WW were crimped while the Winchester headstamp weren’t. Don’t know when they started that crap but it’s real annoying.
