  1. Every so often I run across someone using autocomp for 9 minor. I have a bunch of it sitting in the reloading room but I've never tried it for minor? Is it good? Better then Ramshot Comp? Or is it a powder that "will work if needed" but not really a optimal choice?
  2. I'll add my latest load. 135gn SNS or BBI 1.290 OAL 3.82GN Ramshot Competition After chrono 10 rounds my average was 130PF in a Sig P320 Legion. Also very little smoke, much better then TG as far as smoke. Couldn't tell a difference in recoil.
  3. Got me all excited for a second man! I'd love to get an 8lb jug.
  4. I currently use the LSI outlaw grip but for my ESP IDPA 2011 I'm not sure I want to. Trying to find a magwell that I know will work and fit the esp box is becoming more work then I really want to do. I did order the pistolgear one if I do decide I want the LSI Grip. Anyways what cheely grip texture would be most similar to the outlaw grip texture?
  5. I went with MBX mags after I got my D2 Customs gun thus last season. My STI gen 2 mags wouldn't work with a crap in that gun. Not sure why. Bought one MBX in 9mm and in 40 and they worked 100%. Did the proper break in that MBX says to do and haven't looked back. Bought a bunch more and just chalked it up to being part of the 2011 life.
  6. @AustinWolvI don't shoot for Sean any longer but either way id still go with Sean. Reason being is with him you can pick the parts you want, the slide cuts, everything. And he will work on any RIA hicap you send him. Last I checked Hayes only did 9mm guns, and has one set package that includes a trigger job. From all the RIA guns I've seen, worked on, and shot in testing with Sean the factory trigger parts are not even worth the effort to adjust them. Swap them out with an EGW long nose sear, EGW hammer, and EE disconnector. Cut frame to run standard 2011 mags. Lighten slide, Sean has a few usual designs that we tested with ammo that made major PF and minor PF depending on the shooters needs. Swap junk plastic trigger with either a standard 2011 or SVI billet trigger, some of the RIA frames will take a standard 2011 trigger some won't. Actually checker front strap, not just grip tape. Refit slide to frame and barrel if needed, some of them come pretty well fit already especially the 40 cal long dust cover guns. Install thumb rest if wanted. Replace firing pin with extended one, the factory ones are OK but after about 5k rounds are usually bent.
  7. She will LOVE it! And Gilbert is awesome to work with. He found me a 1911 trophy 9mm while at locap nats this year. I have a pretty good write up about the first one I bought on here. Heads up though if you reload the chambers are TIGHT. I have ended up getting both throated a little so I could run longer loads but other then that no issues with either one. The original is well past 20k rounds now.
  8. Tell them to not worry so much on whose name is on the gunnand if it's a name everyone knows. Plenty of great gunsmiths out there that don't charge 5-7k for a very well built 2011 limited or open gun. A couple that come to mind are D2 Customs, Prasky Gunworks, Brazos semi custom line, venom Customs. I can say for sure I'd be willing to have any of their guns.
  9. Before spending lots of money on MBX mags I would try a standard 2011 mag. Mine ran 100% for a long time with no mods to it or the 2011 mags. If they don't work it is a pretty easy fix with a mill to get them to fit in a RIA.
  10. Sighs in left handed. I will say their offset mag release is awesome though.
  11. If you are running extensions I'd say just go with grams springs and followers. Although over the 2.5 season my girlfriend has shot her p320 she hasn't broken a follower. It seems kind of odd to me.
  12. I am really liking my alpha 3 8MOA on my 320 legion.
  13. I don't get having a hicap race guns nats and adding production to it. Especially in a mag restricted state. Would make more sense to just have the locap nats there and race gun nats at cmp. I also don't get why all the matches have different amounts of days? I would really like to know the line of thinking the board put into this because to me it just looks kind of thrown together. I do want to shoot CO Nats then head up to the Atomic Blast the next weekend.
  14. A bit disappointed with them now. They had a 135gn and 137gn option when I made my 500rnd test order. Went back to order more and they no longer have the 135gn. This was about a month apart for orders. No notice on FB or the website saying they were going to drop the standard 135gn. Had I known I would most likely have just passed up the initial order. In the end I ordered a second test pack for the 137gn bullets. I really don't like when a company decides to just drop a product like that. Especially if they are trying to gain a customer base. Is 2gn difference a big deal as far as PF? No but now I have to reset the seating die and rechrono the loads. Basicly wasted 500 primers and powder.
  15. I've found ramshot comp to be a ton less smokey then TG. And as you have found it meters EXTREMELY well.
  16. Hi tek is the coating they use. Very nice bullets. And as stated above ships next day.
  17. I here it's great in 40 also but I haven't set up the tool head for 40 yet.
  18. This is what my original plan was but then I thought well I should try these other bullets and then it kind of went off into crazy land. Lol. I think I'm gonna just stick with the SNS 135s. I like them, they seem to fit my guns the best and run very well in the press. As for PF I am about 132PF give or take as they get shot in 5 different pistols. 2 1911 9mm, 2 P320s and my minor PF limited setup.

    AXG Grip?

Dang that looks NICE! How grippy are the LOK grip panels?
  20. Yep. I still think they are the best ambi safety on the market for a 1911. I've broke every non captured ambi safety I've tried. I'm left handed and ride the s#!t out of the thumb safety.
  21. I tried just about every 10rnd 9mm mag on the market last season in search of the best feeding, and easiest to lock in the gun with slide forward and 10 rounds in the mag. I found the BUL 10rnd mags were awesome but haven't ever found them for sale unless you buy a 1911. And the mec gar 10rnd mag with the plastic base pad was absolutely the best ones I found.
  22. I know their slides are........ a nice chunk of metal.
