I loved BE-86 and when I ran out I bought a pound of Sport Pistol from a local shop. I was really impressed and ordered 4 8lbs jugs. I'm down to about 10 lbs now, though I don't shoot much anymore due to the primer situation.

I think Unique smokes bad regardless of bullet. I use Sport Pistol with Hitek coated bullets and never notice any smoke.
-
I use RCBS dies in my 650. I just send it all the way and let the decapping pin resize the flash hole. Never any problems and they're fine after that.

I would state what bullet you are using. There is a big difference in charge weight of jacketed, coated or lead.

Best bullet weight for coated 9mm competition
BigMoneyGrip replied to Haalck's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
Get 100 of each and see what you like best. For me, it's a Summers 145. -
I use RCBS dies in my 650 and haven't had any troubles. I can feel the decapping pin plowing through the small hole, but it hasn't hurt anything. However, I did grind a fine point on the pin.

It doesn't work for fertilizer. It would take years for it to break down. I think the reason people say to sling it out in the yard is to spread it so there is less chance for it burning. Modern smokeless powder is pretty resilient. UV will have more of an effect on it than anything.

It's the screw in the front of the trigger. Play with that adjustment and you'll have it.

Make sure the bullet is straight before you seat it. The bulge you see is probably on one side of the case but not the other.

I shoot 128 PF out of my 43 and 48 with no troubles. Not sure if theres any aftermarket options with recoil springs and rods.

Dillon Powder Measure enhancement
BigMoneyGrip replied to 454bore's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
The body of the powder measure appears to be made out of zinc. And you can't anodize zinc. -
Shell casings piling up on case feeder funnel
BigMoneyGrip replied to Jsjac's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Mine just started doing this. I cleaned it really good and then hit it with some Armor All. I loaded about 600 after and it didn't give any problems. It seems like the inside of the funnel gets scuffed from normal wear and the cases don't slide in as easy. -
I'd like to know as well. I'm using a towel for now.

Powder for Prepping
BigMoneyGrip replied to Adam Larsen's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
BE-86 is about as universal as you can get for handgun. -
I have shot about 5 lbs of Titegroup with a Summers coated bullet and never a problem. However, I switched to Sport Pistol because it was a much cooler burning powder. But you shouldn't have any problem with those powders.

XL 750 on the way - a couple questions
BigMoneyGrip replied to Bowman's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I made a chute for mine to catch the rounds. I agree that the 650/750 should come with the case feeder. I loaded with mine for about a year with out one. I made an extension on the tube that would hold forty 9mm. It seemed that I was spending more time loading that than loading rounds. I finally broke down and got the case feeder. Money well spent. -
Developing Load using 147FP Coated Lead................
BigMoneyGrip replied to HOGRIDER's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
I loaded 130 with the Power Pistol and shot them Saturday. With the same bullet as I use in the Sport Pistol load (890 FPS), the PP load was 10 FPS faster. However, the PP had quiet a bit more recoil. The SP load shoots super soft and the PP is a good bit snappier. I'm sticking with Sport Pistol on this load. -
Developing Load using 147FP Coated Lead................
BigMoneyGrip replied to HOGRIDER's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
I've shot a bunch with the 3.2 of Sport Pistol and they shoot great. I started on a new load with Power Pistol but it got too dark today and my chronograph wouldn't work. I'll resume tomorrow. -
Try rotating the cardboard 90 or shoot another type of paper. What you're seeing could be the "grain" of the cardboard causing it to tear that way.
-
Maybe I should check on mine. I ordered about 8 weeks ago and no bullets yet. I got the order confirmation but no shipping confirmation.

I've shot truck loads of coated lead through a stock GLOCK barrel with no problems. My current load is a 145 coated Summers at 890fps. I was using BE-86 but I have since switched to Sport Pistol.

650 Shell Plate Jerking
BigMoneyGrip replied to BigMoneyGrip's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
It's the OD of the head of the shoulder bolt. The first one I made was .750 ID and was a little big. My final size was 1.5 OD and .7 ID.
