  1. Blake drill and the Enos drill are great transition drills for this. I have learned as most seasoned shooters have that smooth is fast. If you are forcing it, it likely doesn't get a good result. What you do has to be repeatable. Dry fire is great practice. You can put up post it notes or playing cards for targets at varying distances. Just like the draw, you train yourself to bring the sights to your eyes. Memphis said it perfectly. Slow it down for your brain, and remember that smooth really is fast.
  2. You have done an exceptional job keeping us informed. Thanks Archie
  3. Replace them all, but you can buy the sear jig at brownells for a little under $200. There are cheaper ones out there but this is the only one that allows you to pin the sear and hammer to the jig just like they are in the frame. This way you get a perfect fit. And it is spelled yavapai.
  4. If you have a yvapari sear tool, probably misspelled, you can pin the hammer and sear on it and look through the built in magnifier to check the sear and hammer hook engagement and verify the angels match up. Also would be a good time to replace all the pins. Worn sear/hammer engagement could be the culprit with a high round count. I had a friend who shot a 38 super through the knee in a match getting out of the holster and disengaging the safety with that very thing.
  5. Reason enough for me to stay in the U.S.
  6. Just remember that it is a sport and having fun is the key!
  7. Been there, sad thing is that it happened at a local match and I had to DQ myself. My squad mates were going to let it go. I would have DQ'd them so the only fair thing was to DQ myself.
  8. Take the plunge! Wading is for wennies. Welcome to the affection!
  9. Wow, I didn't know legal guns and New York could be used in the same talking point. Welcome aboard and you will find loads of info here and some great advice.
  10. Guess sun glasses are definitely on the "items to not forget" list.
  11. Thank you sir. Anything has to be cleaner than the hs-6. I generally buy powder 48 pounds at a time. My son also shoots and buying 1 pound bottles experimenting, i just dont have the time for. So finding something that lots of shooters agree on helps me spend my time loading ammo for us to use in big quantity. Thanks
  12. I don't have our personal links anymore. I got locked out of that address.. eddiefinkle0926@gmail.com is where I need info please. Ty90311 & Ty94863
  13. I would remove them and spray them with some oil. Also coat your mag bodies.
  14. If not E3 then what are you going go try. I am tired of HS6 and am looking for a proven solotion. I buy lots of powder at a time so anyone wanting to give me an answer other than n320 please chime in.
  15. The hornady press bought during your birthday discount at Midway usa will not break the bank.
  16. Memphis is correct. You have to find your spot to bring the gun to, that is repeatable. If it is not comfortable and repeatable you are not going to get good at it. Find the spot. Practice at 20% speed and build from there. I usually set my timer and if I beat the timer 10 times in a row, I lower the time and repeat. Minimum movement allows you to be faster, but also is less for the brain to program into the subconscious mindset.
  17. My lnl bullets will shoot 2" groups with mixed brass fired dozens of times. Good point Hi-power Jack. Save the rocket science for the rockets.
