  1. Yeah I ususally keep tools and any batteries I would need in my bag or at a match. I found a nice roll up organizer on amazong for like $15 bucks that I keep on hand that has helped me out multiple times. I keep spare parts, batteries and what I would need for the guns I'm shooting. Back Ups are very handy though, its nice having that confidence going into a major that if s#!t happens you're prepared.
  2. I always put the mag in my pocket and rack the slide multiple times. Look at daylight my self and have the RO say clear. I notice when you become a regular this can get relaxed a bit but I always make sure I show to not get in bad habbits.
  3. For the price these things seem hard to try and pass up a try. I just wish they went up to size 15. I do hear mixed reviews on them though. Speedcross 4's come in wide now so that might be worth a shot if the Hellcats don't work out.
  4. Feds are weird. They go from not being able to find them for months at a time to being all over the place. I've learned to be safe if I can't use winchesters in my gun my trigger is too light. I want a little versatility.
  5. Glocks can take lots of neglect. Don't abuse it though, just clean it once every 10 years or so.?
  6. I thought my Tanfo's hennings were the best thing I've felt until I put LOK's on my Shadow 2. By far the best grip. If they ever do come out with Palm Swell Boogies it would be the best of bolth worlds for you.
  7. 132 seems to be the number that works best for me. Never have had issues with steel, accuracy is great and it feels good to me.
  8. Yeah, I would only buy the rubber cleated bottoms for that reason. Try some good insols, I use superfeet ones and they are worth every penny. I now add them to every shoe I wear. They might help you with this issue. But you are right, they aren't as good as the Inov8 for longer range days.
  9. I'm in this boat with size 15 shoes. I've tried a few different options out and have found I like cleats the best. I'm a bigger guy so I can use all the traction I can get. I bought some Nike football mid top cleats, and get the cheaper rubber cleats ones. I got mine for $40 and threw some insoles in them. This support and traction allow me to run through stages with out loosing grip. One main thing to think about when ordering cleats though is the rubber cleats, they are cheaper and you wouldn't think they would be as good but for USPSA they're the best option. They're more comfy for theose 6+ hour range days and the rubber wont slip if you get on any hard floors. If you don't need the mid high then get low tops. I switch between inov8 and Salomoons on light range days that I'm not running aorund so much. Inov 8's would be my favorite traditional trial runner. The X Talons or Claws have more grip than Salomons and last longer.
  10. One thing to mention is when picking a bullet profile look for companies that have a longer nose profile. CZ's have a shorter throat than some manufacturers and the longer profile allows you to load to a longer OAL. Lots of companies do this now and you don't have to do it but I like having the option to load longer if I want to.
  11. I really think Hennings full texture are the best grips for the Stock 2. I know a ton of people like the PD's but for me they were too thin up top with XXL hands. But everyone's hands are different.
  12. 124 RN Acme 3.6-7 Sport Pistol 1.125 OAL. It's been an awesome load so far.
  13. That is a great point Rowdy. Unless your a parts swap master I can see this being a big pain for a lot of people. One other thing I thought of that someone else mentioned but to harp on is bring the right size fiber for you sights and have spare. I have friends running around all the time needing some and I always have spare. Cheap and great to have and put a fresh rod in before a big match so it pops.
  14. .205 worked great for me. Kinda ridiculious to me that they made the front sight to work with a Romoeo optic mainly but don't include it with the gun.
  15. I feel that there is a big difference between 124 and 147 when I made the switch with a glock in the past. When I switched to all metal pistols it seemed a little sluggish but I may give it a try again.
  16. Lots of people have no issue witht he smoke. I switched to Sport Pistol from N320 and I don't think I'll go back. So far I think it's my favorite powder I've ever used and it isn't smokey and keeps my gun cooler than tightgroup. I've found it cheaper than tightgroup as well so that's a huge plus.
  17. I just had a freind do the same thing after ordering 135 to test out. I was almost sure I was going to go this route next and he says he cant tell the difference at all and wish he got 147. If it feels the same I would save the money and order 125. I'd love to hear what other people think that have more experience with 135.
  18. I have the Hennings and the PD Palm Swells. I have XXL hands and thought the Palm Swells would work best for me but I found that the countour was to much for me and I couldn't get as good as a grip on the gun as I could with the Henning Grips. I would always go with Hennings after testing them both out for my hands. Everyone is different though.
  19. I don't know what is going on lately but S&B 9mm brass will only case guage in my Hundo 35% of the time at best. I can't figure it out and I seem to have a ton from my supplier lately.
  20. Thanks to the advice of this thread I bought 8LB jug of SP and I've been loving it. Made the switch when N320 became hard to get and wont be going back. It's been very clean and very consistent for me. If anyone is on the edge with this powder still I'd jump on it.
  21. When I'm in a bind I buy cleaned 1K 9mm for $25 from a local place here.
  22. ACME's have been awesome. I've gotten great accuracy out of them and the coating holds up well. Best price I can find out there last time I checked.
  23. This is pretty much dead on what I would say but add the extra slide stop. Before most majors I replace TRS, Hammer, and Recoil a two weeks before (and carry spares) to break them in a bit.
  24. I got the LOK Palmswells and was worried about the tapered top that they do for the Shadow 2 with my big hands (XXL-XXXL) and they've been great. They assured me it would most likely be fine since I like as much thickness in grips as I can get and they were right. LOK also said on the phone if it didn't work for me to just call him and that they would work something up for me. Amazing product and top notch customer service is hard to beat. Mine didn't have any movement in them when installed and I havne't had to use any loctite in over 2K shot with them. Just wanted to post to help any fellow large hand guys out there looking at what to buy.
  25. Thanks for the update Rowdy. I'm a big ogur though and will risk slidelock on stages every now and then. I'm a fan of the shockbottle's on my Tanfo but I guess they have the same issue. From what I can tell CZC are the ones for me from what you describe.
