  1. I use ESP plugs. I normally wear hearing aids and ESP will program your hearing aid prescription into their earplugs for you.
  2. Be careful of the Patriot pack stuff. for some reason that keyholes in my pistols at 50'. It's fine in my rifles though.
  3. Try using CCI coated bullets. I like the pink high velocity stuff for my Volquartsen pistols. Drastically reduces leading.
  4. We are liomited to 10 round mags in CT and NY so it's 6 small mags.
  5. I use 4.0 gr of n310 with the MG 95'S. About 112 PF in my 5" Limcat. I also load 115 MG over 3.8 gr of n320 which runs 109 PF. The 95gr load cycles the slide faster and the 115 load is slightly more accurate in my guns. If you use the 95 gr bullet be sure not to load them too long. They will fall out and make a mess. Mine are at 1.085 COAL and have never caused a problem.
  6. I bought a 4.5 " CMMG 22 barrel and sent it to Taccom for assembly into their upper. Already had the CMMG conversion bolt for my 5.56 AR so all I had to buy was a collar to convert the bolt to a dedicated .22. About $ 150.00 for barrel and collar.
  7. Are the Black Dog black 10 round magazines transparent? I'm trying to order some smoke ones but they are out of stock. Want to be able to see if mags are fully loded.
  8. `Why not use a shrouded 22 barrel? That's probably the lightest configuration with no compensator issues.
  9. Big problem with case head separation with that brass. I throw it out when I see it.
  10. Typically the softer primers are preferable for very light loads because they deform more easily and seal the primer pocket. I can't understand how a pistol primer that remains intact in a 9 major gun can cause breach face damage. I have heard that some stay away from rifle primers for that reason since they are typically a harder alloy than pistol primers
  11. Or you could buy a Dillon Super 1050 which has a swaging station that sizes the primer pocket. makes everything smoother.
  12. If your SVI gun has an AET (twist gain barrel) that is the reason for the difference in velocity. I had an Infinity IMM open gun which was 50 fps slower than my STI DVC Steel gun with the same ammo. These barrels are extremely accurate but slow. If its an AET you will find that marking on the barrel, visible through the ejection port.
  13. Federal primers are also harder than CCI to feed in my Dillon auto primer tube filler. CCI primers run perfectly, Feds result in upside down primers, maybe 2 or 3 in 300.
  14. Which magwell are you using? Sometimes 10 round mags are too short to clear some of the heavier magwells. I had good luck with standsrd STI aluminum unes.
  15. Differences are purely cosmetic. Both will shoot the same with the same options selected.
  16. Nelson actually sells three springs which are color coded. 8, 9 and 10# I have two of the Nelson conversions with more than 5,000 rounds through them. They run 100%. I had some feeding issues on one of them when it was new which I couldn't figure out. I sent the complete gun back to Larry and he found that the thumb safety was rubbing a little on the slide. He fixe4d this and the gun has been perfect ever since. Can't comment on Tacsol because I've never had one.
  17. Some of my friends only load these to 9 rounds for that reason.
  18. You have to be caeful with the Nelson mags. They will accept 11 rounds but if you load them that way you get the feeding issues you mentioned.
  19. Of course, results might change if loading to make a PF requirement. I don't have any personal experience so I can't comment on this.
  20. Actually, you can shoot lighter loads with a longer barrel. Especially if slower powder is used. I run 109 PF ammo in my Open Steel Challenge guns. This load felt mutch hotter in my 16" PCCO with a comp. That barrel would run loads down to 104 -105 PF (measured in a 5" CO gun) which wouldn't run reliably in my open gun. Switched to a Taccom 5" shrouded barrel in the PCC and the Open loads run just fine with minimal recoil and dot movement.
  21. I replaced the RTS 2 with a 510C on my Steelcat. Both with Limcat mount. The shroud was removed on the 510C. 4.0 oz weight increase. I love the 510C on my rifles but the jury is still out for pistols
  22. I've had problems with MBX 120 and 140 mm 10 round mags. The first two or three rounds feed and then the remaining rounds are jammed in the mag tube causing a feed failure. Running a silicone impregnated cloth through the mag after cleaning it helps with this bproblem.
  23. Are the smoke colored ones transparent? Can you see how many rounds are loaded?
