Here's the gun with the 15 degree grip.

It's the one made by Magpul. It arrived today and I like it. As noted earlier in this string, the more vertical grip changes the feel of the gun with a given LOP. Based on this, I believe I will like the shorter stock I ordered with this grip.

I have a 15 degree grip on its way and a riser for the Holosun.

Here is the .22. 4# 4 oz with Battle Arms stock

I just installede a Battle Arms Development stock on my AR .22. (pictures to follow) I opted for the rifle length and found that it resulted in a 12.5" LOP. Not bad, but the mid length stock is 1" shorter. I ordered one of those to try and will exchange one of them for the length I like better. I'll end up with two of these of the right length for me. One on my 9mm AR and one on the .22.

That soundes like aq good strategy, however I shoot in NY where adjustable stocks are no bueno.

Recoil is based on momentum, Mass x Velocity. Also known as power factor. The 115 bullet with the 147 bullet powder charge will have significantly less mass resulting in lower pressure resulting in lower velocity. So both mass and velocity will be reduced and there will be a noticeable difference in recoil force. If you play with the charge to get the same power factor for both loads you will still notice a difference in how the gun runs. The slide will cycle much faster with the 115 load. I agree with bthe comment that it's best to practice with what you're using for competition.

Gallant 115's run fine in my guns. I stopped using them because I can't get them to run in my bullet feeder. Lots of upside down bullets no matter what I do.

For Steel Challenge I shoot my PCC with about the same stance as I use for my pistols. I'm right handed so the toe of my right foot is a little in front of the heel of my left. The butt of the gun is toward the center of my chest. As a result of this I'm running about a 12" LOP. Almost everyone I hand my gun to comments that the LOP is too short for them. I'm curious to know how others stand and the geometry of their guns. Also would like comments on my approach.

Here's my AR 22 with Taccom upper, 4.5" CMMG barrel and bolt, Battle Arms buffer tube and butt plate and Holosun 510C sight. Gun is well balanced and feel right to me.

Try the MG 95 JHP over 4.0 of N310 @1.085. Some of my race guns are more accurate with that, some are better with the 115 gr load. The 95 gr load cycles the slide faster.

I use Hunters Gold glasses. They work well for me in all conditions from the brightest sunlight to near dark conditions. Red dots are highly visible

Just took another look at the picture of your gun. If you're getting a cheek weld on the carbon tube (stock) the sight actually looks like it's too high right now. Where is the dot when you bring the gun up from low ready?

Can you stack Tandem Cross mounts, ie, use more than one of them? Probably a good idea to mock up something out of wood to see what height fits you the best and go from there

Tim cut the ramp off my Taccom 9mm barrel because I'm using a Stern Defense mag adapter which has its own built in ramp.

How often does the shroud need to be cleaned using JHP bullets? Does the crown ever need cleaning?

Should have mentioned that the replacement pin will have properly radiused diameters. Trouble free

There's a known problem with JP firing pins. The one in my gun broke in 3 pieces. Apparently, tghey were manud=factured with sharp corners where the diameter of the pin changes. Contact JP, as I did, and they will send a warranty replacement.

Why not just build a nice, lightweight AR15?

For a powder like N320, I believe it's all burned in about 11.5". This info from a well known gunmaker.

I agree with this comment. My friend put a Mod Shot chassis on his 10-22 SC gun. Even though the gun was overall lighter, it did feel nose heavy. I ordered a Battle Arms stock for my ar15 .22 build. With the Taccom upper I don't think this will be the case because the nose of the gun is so light. Also ordered a Hogue 15D lightweight grip for the gun. With these additions the gun should end up weighing about 4# 4 oz.
