  1. Because Rock Island is special (like me).
  2. I use a 147 SNS coated round nose with 3.1gr of Sport Pistol. Soft shooting and easily makes power. One concern with range brass in 9mm is some of it won't size down correctly. I found the FC (Federal Champion) headstamp didn't give enough neck tension even after resizing/crimping as I could push the bullet in by hand. I switch to the EGW undersized die and that solved it.
  3. Thank you! I love it when the solution is "apply more force".
  4. So... I feel stupid and would really appreciate some help in feeling less stupid, lol. I just picked up another 2011 and this one uses Para-style mags. Some of mine have this style of basepad: I can't figure out how to remove them for the life of me. Pushing down on the interior "key" of the spring guide (like I do with every other mag ever) causes the basepad to lock into place. Trying to slide the basepad off without pushing down on that part has a little more give but then seizes up before I can slide the pad all the way off. Help me, BEnosverse. You're my only hope.
  5. I've run them successfully for a few years now.... To be fair, they're not as stout as some of my other moons (the 9mm Rhino actually has the thickest) but they are a viable option.
  6. Yup, great choice for Revo in IDPA. You could run it with .38's and speed loaders or powered down .357's if you cut it for moons. It's also a solid choice for ICORE Classic (or L6 with moons).
  7. I think a lot of it has to do with the condition of your trigger bar. Mine was one of the first generations (no letter) and I just couldn't get the loop set right - a literal hair too much and I had a dead trigger, too little and I had no reset. I've since replaced it with a new "H" stamped bar. I also swapped the FFSS for the CAEK but that was more of a preference about feel.
  8. Boy howdy - that there is some smoke! What sort of power factor is that?
  9. So... I wound up here after searching around and trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong with the Apex FSS/flat trigger kit. First, I installed it following the instructions and had it fully functional in dry-fire. Took it to the range and I was getting the random dead trigger - every few rounds, there would be a light "click" but the striker wouldn't release. I'd reset the action and the gun would run fine before another random stoppage. I did some reading and determined the candy cane loop was opened too wide (and it was really wide). So, I cranked it down to where it was almost completely closed and took it back to the range. Now I'm encountering reset issues where another round chambers but the trigger doesn't reset at all (I have to rack the slide at least a little to activate it again). Am I right in thinking that the loop is now closed too much? Is it really that sensitive? The most aggravating part is that I can only reproduce the issues in live-fire. Everything worked every time in dry-fire and I'm not sure why that is.
  10. To go all the way back to the beginning... could the rise in Limited Minor simply be due to new shooters running what they have? I’d think the most common sort of pistol sold is a plastic 9mm that holds 15+ rounds. Add three mags and you’re good to go for most local matches. Production is the other likely division for them, but that requires more investment in mags and carriers (and rulebook reading). I could be totally wrong, of course. I mostly shoot SS Minor and Revo, lol.
  11. Same here. Not trying to dogpile, just subbing so I can see when a solution rolls out.
  12. Your load is almost identical to mine and your results are right in-line with what I recorded(I posted my full results earlier in the thread). Mine were a hair faster, but I’m also 5000+ feet higher so I probably get a little more burn. If you’re worried about the chrono, you can always throw a heavy 3.1 or shift to 3.2. I doubt you’d feel the difference.
  13. This doesn't check out. Can't I spend my way to success?!
  14. Yes. Both times it was working up test loads, so my sequence was a little off.
  15. I've been doing a bunch of reading on adding a powder check camera / screen - I'm thinking it's a good idea. I've squibbed with revolvers before and it's not something I really want to repeat.
  16. Wow. That's like "Apple Store meets Ikea" clean! I like the idea of the screen mounts. Are they both connected to the wall?
  17. OMG. That needs to be added to the rulebook ASAP, lol. NROI, where you at?! Thanks for the post. Like a few have said, I think you could have argued your way out of it if you really wanted to, but if I was the shooter, I also would have taken the DQ and moved on. Bet it doesn't happen again!
  18. This is an incorrect statement based on all of my recent USPSA matches, lol.
  19. Maybe like a 6? Painting the surface of my bench a gloss black was the best/worst thing I've done as now it shows powder whenever I drop any. I guess I could use all AutoComp and no WST and then it would just blend in?
  20. You're not crazy! ECO USPSA just got an email that the calendar was updated last night but had some issues, so there WAS a 4/15 match at Boulder for a little bit.
