  1. TTI also for non MBX mags. The MBX are good also if buy complete mags .
  2. Was in limited for a year before the switch. Got a deal on a custom open that was basically new with only being test fired. It's as fast as you can go in this sport and for me, it's the funnest division .
  3. Just wonder if it's new or been shot a lot ? Either way needs to be repaired .
  4. Very cool and unique slide work .
  5. ^^^ This also. I watched a guy with shielded safety's bobble around for a period time trying to clear a jam. He had a hard time racking it , if he had a racker would not have fought it near as long .
  6. They are beneficial for unloaded starts ,either table or from the holster and when need to clear a jam in a hurry.
  7. Limcat just released a thinner style . I have shot a gun with the prototype on it and it does feel thinner than my PT standard grip . quote from Johnny
  8. Thank you TMZ ! I did this to mine after fighting jams at the top and so far have not had 1 .
  9. While i have not had that issue, if the wind is blowing and we have lots of dust, i use the cover on the pistol for the day . I would think oil would make it worse by holding more dust in .
  10. Your open will need service sooner or later . While most of us can fix most things on our guns, sometimes it needs to go back to the builder. How long could you be without one and how will that affect you is your decision to make. I have 2 and a 3rd in the works , 2 go with me to major matches . Also, having 2 identical guns allows one to be used for practice and one for matches .
  11. I came to open from limited so i was use to reloads with 140 's . Any classifier requiring reloads i use the 140's . I found reloads with the 170's difficult to regain the grip in the same amount of time as the 140's . When i introduced a 155 into my open game, i found it's almost the same reload and grip acquisition as the 140's . With the added rounds , the 155 comes into play on a large course with lots of steel, really just for confidence in case i go to war with a polish or something but is nice to have in your options .
  12. I bought MBX tubes from SC for STI and they would not fit any STI / double stacked 2011's i owned. In the end they were either mislabeled or way out of spec . MBX exchanged them and i have not had a issue with the replacements . My 2 shooting buddies that run CK guns / grips swear by the original STI mags with Grams / TTI guts .
  13. You guys gauge practice ammo also ? just curious . I shoot 800 a week in practice and even with the hundo, it takes time that sometimes i don't have between loading, dry fire and a job LOL
  14. Am running a KKM in 9 major also. I don't gauge practice ammo and never had a issue other than a cracked case but it still cycled . I gauge match ammo to inspect like the above post for primer, cracks or if it wont fit properly. Funny , everything that wont gauge ( 5% ) goes in the practice box and works fine .
  15. My normal routine is a completely clean gun going into a match on Sunday , 150-200 rounds depending where and if it's a place with lots of steel . Just oil at that point then its 2 days of practice during the week that run 3-400 each , between those main gunk wiped out and oiled . So generally at about 1k it's detail cleaned , everything but mainspring housing and ready for the next match then it starts over again .Every other month is mainspring out and that is cleaned with the detail cleaning. This works for me and i never have failure to extract due to a dirty extractor channel or other failures related to build up.
  16. Damn, maybe they stopped doing that , it's been a while since i ordered , hope you can find something that works .
  17. Did that work ? If not this came today ..
  18. Sam results as the above 2 posts, gets you close but will need fine tuned .
  19. If you add things to your cart at Double Alpha and let them sit, a few days later they send a discount code to complete the order ( at least they use to . Didn't know they were carrying mags now .MBX has sales on things around holidays ,. otherwise have not seen a code for them , hope someone else can help more .
  20. I need to turn the dot brightness down at times on the DPP 2.5 .When was running the c-mores, they were at full brightness to achieve what i needed.
  21. I made the change to the Delta Point on all my open pistols ( 3 ) and could not be happier. The RTS2 cost me more than one stage in the past from shutting off in the middle of a run. A good friend and GM in open also made the change after his RTS2 cost him a stage at a major . You can leave them on and the batteries don't go dead , they time out when not in use. The adjustments never move and are just overall a better quality optic IMO.
  22. Mine was coated and is perfect .When it was raw i thought about sanding it but glad i did not before coating .
  23. Last class i took with Max he had a SVI steel grip on his open 38 .
