  1. jim anglin/sailors custom will probably do a weld up big stick for ypu5
  2. huh, I would have thought CK would have made them in-house, like the frames, grips and other parts they produce.
  3. is that a carbon fiber scope mount OR aluminum with some sort of finish on it?
  4. To the OP, most likely the followers are catching on the transition at the bottom of the mags where the control ribs end/taper to the inside surface of the magazine. Flatten and then smooth/polish this area out with whatever tools you feel safest using and you're problem should go away. If you purchased "tuned" mags then this area should have been already addressed, IMO. If the "tuning" was giving you a stock STI mag and inserting TTI guts and pads, it's really not tuned. You're one mag is working fine as that transition area I mention is "flat" enough already to provide the follower a smooth ride up the tube. Oh, Biloxi23, this should address the problem you are experiencing as well Good luck
  5. If I were to guess it's probably because it was assembled at Bobby's shop and not Matt's. Bobby and Matt are partners in CK Arms.
  6. apparently the nra hq range is hosting uspsa matches again, anyone aware of this/have specifics of who is running it? thanks
  7. send the two stock mags back to sti, they'll take care of it
  8. Load up your big stick to capacity with dummy rounds and empty each mag completely through the gun by racking the slide, seeing if they all extract. Assuming that works with no issues, do the same thing with live rounds at the range. If all cases extract fine you should be OK. If in either situation a case or dummy round does not extract then there is not enough tension on the extractor. If you use a 140 mag you will probably not find an issue. The spring pressure in a big stick puts a different amount of force on the rounds feeding up than a 140 mag. I learned this from the original mag master himself and he was spot on; definitely did not come up with it on my own. Good luck
  9. can someone weigh a bare slide (no extractor, FP stop, firing pin and spring, barrel.)
  10. pm Foxbat, he has two 9mm major infinity's that are fairly new (within the past three years and newer). He can provide you some information about powders.
  11. "And that changes how the mag functions because....? " If the case contacts the rear edge of the most forward control rib, you can have feeding problems within the tube. For 100% reliability use spacers for 9mm in an STI mag.
  12. I was there; RM made the right call for the safety of everyone.
  13. that is correct. they only expected about 300 orders, instead got well over 3000
  14. measure the mag length in mm and then use the longest pad you can that will keep you within the 171.25mm length according to the EGW mag gauge. the ones listed above will most likely work, you need to determine which one. good luck
  15. really depends. perform some searches and you'll get much information. good luck
  16. There has to be a crack I am not seeing? What I am seeing is the horizontal line in the picture starting at the grip safety and going down towards the magwell. That is not a crack, it's the poly main spring housing, it is a separate part of the grip.

  18. So sorry, Charlie is in a good place now, probably playing with my buddy Malibu
  19. I would think a ck arms gun would be built at Matt's shop OR Bobby's shop.
  20. I actually rest the one feed lip on the flat surface of an anvil while lightly tapping the other one. Do this equally on both sides. Works for me
  21. Alliant blue dot would be a better choice for an open gun than power Pistol if you use Alliant powdwrs. Generally slower burning powders, which can produce more gas to work the comp, are used in open guns.
  22. Binary engineering in the vendor area
