  1. Thanks guys.. I like the shorter gun..I have a shortened gun now that I really like...I am experimenting with portholes in the barrel/slide and was looking at running a shorter slide.. I knew folks here had them shortened both ways and was seeking advice if they were working or not.. I have seen and shot the Dawson minigun with the extra stroke added..wish I could have torn the gun apart to see inside...but it was pretty nice...I can;t afford for Dave to build me one..so the search for knowledge. thanks..
  2. Need so guidance as if one approach is better than the other... Want to build a short open-class race gun.. which would be better as far as reliability and performance.. use a 5" slide and cut it 1/2" to 3/4" ( commander length) or use a commander slide and shorten the frame rails and recoil spring tunnel/shoulder to get the slide travel. thanks...for any advice
  3. I think they are just cosmetic..just screw into the plastic...
  4. see if this works..sometimes imagestation works..sometimes it doesn;t
  5. The only time I have gamed a stage not to engage targets is when they were disapearing tagets with no-penalty misses..the time had to be pretty significant to make it an advantage.. shooting five quick shots for your engagement and if you hit one and moved on ..you would still give up 60 points in penalties and misses..that would be pretty devastating to your hit factor..
  6. Do you know the make of the barrel??? or on the lower lug is the face of have a radius or is it flat???

    Titegroup

Talking with chronoman at the CO state match and he was saying with the weather extreme at Area 1 he was seeing titegroup loads drop in velocity..some folks didn't make major with the velocity loss.. we didn't get much more scientific...as we were eatin'
  8. Shot this one this weekend..anyone know where a 4.47 54 point would be..in open or a 5.34 50points in limited (minor) dropped way too many points on both of these.. thanks
  9. Got my new Ghost...thanks Matt.. took me about 20 minutes to get adjusted and set up..did about 1/2 hour of dryfire draws to get used to it..the gun seem farily secure with the ball locked in place.when the gun is holstered, the trigger guard pushes on a lever that rotates another in to trap the trigger guard so the gun can;t rock forward.. anyway..so far I like it..will need to do some more dryfire and some live fire..but I like it so far..
  10. Is the rear blade of the Wilson serrated like the bomar or is it plain?? thanks
  11. I thought all those mounts were made from aluminum.. anyway..thanks...I'll look at the Dawson with the blast shield... shootergrl..anyway you could send me a photo of the limcat.. anyone..bad or good on the allchin mount ???..is it one sided??
  12. Been looking for a scope mount..between the STI, Limcat, Dawson, Allchin, Brazos..anyone have any input.or preference why you like one over the other....they all are single sided, made to mount the slide ride or railway c-more.. but there some difference in pricing. thanks..
  13. Chris.. My condolenses to you and your family. A loss is never easy, expected or not..just know that there are others out there thinking about you and praying for. Take care..
  14. The lenses on the consumer line of DIT cams are all pretty much the same as long as they are glass...you won't see the difference until you get up into the professional lines of either Nikon or Canon.. If you look close at how all the manufacturers have their lines laid out..you will see cameras emerge in different categories.. a lot of the features that will determine the price the range, type of lens..lens speed, glass, plastic, zoom range the features on the cameras..LCD, viewfinder, autofocus capability, autoexposure capability, manual feature, auto features. the type and size of CCD chip or CMOS chip type of digital media it uses..CF cards, CF2 cards, memory stick, etc. My personal choice has been Nikon and Canon..as that is what I use at work..The little Olympus that I have for sale..is pretty trick for a small camera..you have a lot of choices to wade through...just about every manufacturer has about 6 or 7 cameras to offer..
  15. Pretty much what Eric said.. you will be hard pressed to find one that will do video and stills well..each one sacrifices something to do the other.. decide what your end use is..email, making prints (8x10 or larger) that will help you decide where to spend your money.. a good site to try look at reviews and do side by side comparisons is www.dpreview.com. I have had pretty good luck with the Nikon Coolpix 950 and 990..and the D1 and D1H (the D series is probably our of your price range..though) If you are interested.or anyone else is..I have a Olympus C5050 for sale..it is new in the box..maybe shot 10 frames with it..It is a great camera..I just don;t need it right now..I bought it new for $699 and asking $600 for it and will throw in a good condition Lexar 256mg CF card...but willing to listen to an offer..
  16. More good info..thanks everyone
  17. Thanks guys... I have been looking for an excuse to try a aluminum mount... how does it mount to the mount?? something I can do..or do I need some expertise..thanks..
  18. Ihave a C-more with a crack in one of the screw holes. Is it possible to repair this crack in the plastic mount or is it feasible to mill off the mounting part and mount the unit to an aluminum mount?? thanks for any help..
  19. I have seen shooters at all levels begin to incorporate movement drills at different times..the point it becomes effective seem always to depend on how well they mastered other things.. It seems like it all comes to fruition around the A class mark from the shooters I have seen..and that was my experience too..
  20. PaulW and JL..any chance you guys got any photos of your setups..they all sound interesting..
  21. I did a search and did not find what i was looking for.. anyone know where i can find a list of states or know the states that do not allow the sale of high cap mags. thanks
  22. anyone got a photo of the SVI magwell??
  23. Not sure what the process in Denver is..in Pueble County..on the ticket it will say if you send in ticket and pay fine..the moving violation will be made a non-moving..I think the fine is discounted too..in El Paso County (both south of Denver) if you go to court..you will go to pre-trial and usually they will work it to non-moving, no or half the points and pay court cost of ($10) I would have her go to court,,pretrail and see what they offer up...seems like a lawyer would be cost more that the cost of going..besides if ticket not that severe..should only be about a 1 or 2 point violation..I think speeding in excess of 20 and failure to obey traffic control is like 3 or 4.. tell her good luck
  24. Mine... The Rat Patrol box and thermos... it was way cool...showed the two jeeps with 50cal. BMG being chased by the Afrika Corps..
