  1. Quote: from Jon Merricks on 4:34 pm on Sep. 10, 2002 Chicks Dig It I was guessing "Cool Dude Index" so is this legal in Limited??
  2. both materials erode pretty fast..especially at the baffles where the bullet enters.. If you do go this route...make sure you get two or three..I did this when I first went to a hybricomp..worked really well...just some maintenance to it..
  3. What blade width are you all liking and using...with the Wilson sight...
  4. Results are posted http://www.isishootists.com/steelchallenge/2002/results.htm TGO's open and limited times were in the top 20..
  5. Anyone shot this match...I am heading there this year with some friends, my first time out in a long time. Whats the match like...Does it have a reputation for being a hard one, tricky, hoser, accuracy, balanced..just kind of curious if the match staff try to give some type of personality and style... anyway thanks for any info, advice and tips..
  6. You won't be disadvantaged all that often..main thing I found is being smooth in the reload..On most of the classifiers and short courses..you can keep up and win stages..On high round count, short movement courses you will give up some, this is where smooth helps a lot; on high round count, movement stages you can do allright. It is a lot of fun to shoot L10 in limited. It feels like a real good test of my shooting and skills (reloads, movement, awareness)
  7. I asked for a reference point for WST on another thread. From gm iprod from this link http://www.brianenos.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard...4&topic=347 45ACP "Load to 1.25" max Start at 4.7gr max out at 5.3gr ( 820fps - 890fps in my Para 5&quot " (Edited by eerw at 8:10 pm on July 30, 2002)
  8. I have been shooting WST pretty much in my 45..and found it to be clean, pretty soft and stable..more so than 231. I am getting ready to work up some loads with a copper wash bullet that I found hiding under my bench..so I will try some temperature test when I get the chance...otherwise..I have had good experience with it..I can;t compare it to titegroup as haven't tried that.. I got some data somewhere on 155 JHP with WST in the .40, That was also very stable in temperature..and altitude..
  9. Hey Jon..Unfortunately I don't have it anymore..another guy in the club..liked it a lot..A Lot.. I liked it..it shot very well for me...I shot it fairly fast and it tracked very well for me...I had no problems with functioning and reliability...when I see it from time to time..the new owner says no problems..I shot everything from 155 HP to 220 lead in it..and it shot all equally well..If I can track andy down..I will forward any contact info to you.. 10. Hi Jon..I know what you are talking about...Yes..when Andy was here he did several of the sleeves..I shot one for about a year... He is in Ark. now..not sure of his contact #...Gary Kimball..retired from pistolsmithing..which is a shame.. Andy attached a sleeve of tungsten to a barrel by threading it on like a comp..then fitted the outside diameter for lockup on the front..like a bull barrel..worked very well at adding a substantial amount of stationary weight..
  11. I have had good luck with the 9x23...I have found it easy to load for and it has worked reliably in all my guns...I have not tried the Starline brass..but it looks good. I got fortunate and found a small boatload of WIN brass..
  12. I don't think there is really any issue if someone comes from nowhere to get the win..the issue is if you are scheduled to be there with the big dogs..because you are one..and change your shooting time to your advantage..and go shoot with the little dogs..
  13. How many of you all shoot multiple divisions through a shooting season?? Or do you find you shoot one division for awhile, then switch to another for a break. Or do you only shoot one division.. If you switch around..do you find it helps, hinders or just serves as a diversion while keeping trigger time..
  14. my experience with 3n37 has been good.. have had 2 open guns, one hybrid the other a four port..with about 2 seasons on each with no failure like that...now shooting open on an EGW gun with 3n37 and 115s...all good so far..
  15. I thought there was one year where they shot like nine guns or something for an overall... I know there is the team challenge...that is pistol, rifle and shotgun..but...hey the memory fades..
  16. It started out as three pistol event..precision, action and long range.. at some point it became a rifle, shotgun and pistol event. Not sure what it is now..there was a big controversy several years ago on the administration of the event.. Now someone else needs to step up with info..
  17. Titan.. looks like a good match...man.you and them penalties... A lot names I remember...wish I could of made it...So how is old Dennis Bauer...wondering where he disappeared to.. later...good luck in Reno..
  18. I think that is number 6 for DK... max score should be 1920-192X quite a feat...
  19. Jack..you did some hosing at that match too ..good stuff...can't wait to see you come back... stuart (Edited by eerw at 9:59 pm on May 25, 2002)

    9x23

I have a 16.5# in my single stack..and a 9# in my open gun.. and a 12# in my carry comp..recoil spring.. they all have 19# mainspring
  21. Have you thought about some type of personal instruction. they might be able to help pick up on things and help you improve that way.. I found video tape help me analyze my shooting..it showed me where I was wasting time.. Otherwise when i went through my biggest leap of improvement..I was practicing maybe twice a week and shooting a match every weekend...I also worked on specific drills during that time, and worked on taming my jitters.. Good luck..I hope you don;t give up...it'll come to you..
  22. 100 yards is sweet...I went to try this..for something to do...I'm ok at 25...start opening a shot or two at 30 and 35...be fun to make this a clock drill..
  23. Use a version of this.. 1.5 to 2 inch circles..fit 9 on a IPSC target..shoot these drills Dot 1. draw shoot six shots all in circle Dot 2. draw shoot one shot, six times all in circle Dot 3. draw shoot pairs, 3 sets, all in circle Dot 4. draw shoot pairs, strong hand only, 3 sets. Dot 5. draw shoot pairs, weak hand only, 3 sets. Dot 6+7. draw shoot pair, transition to next dot shoot pair. Dot 8+9. draw shoot pair, reload transition to next dot shoot pair. I usually start at 10 yards and then move it out. For fun..shoot against a partner..on the timer..fastest,in the circles gets dinner or something... anyway..works to get me settled back in from hosing too fast..and way back..whenenver I saw a really hard shot..I could crutch myself mentally on shooting dots..worked for the moment in time
  24. Hey titan (rocket)...is it going to be big??? was hoping to come..but got the Colorado state this month too..
  25. I am using three single kytac pouches and one single safariland 771 pouch..works pretty well.just got to remember to reach that far back..
