  1. Yup..they are kimbers...kimber did get an LA SWAT deal provided two guns..one with rail, one without..I did find a photo of Samuel Jackson with a kimber from a movie promo..trying to post it..
  2. Haven't seen it yet..but most likely since kimber as they had the LA SWAT contract..remember seeing some promo shots of Samuel Jackson with the kimber.
  3. If I remember TitanDriver had a phantera and switched it to the turbo..

    9x23 Conversion?

Yeah pretty much did... seems most of the 9x23 is now on the 1911, STI/SV or race gun platforms.. seen some S&W 940 converted, heard of some 38 super 686's converted, some Glock 20s and an occassional AR carbine.. I don;t have the time or money to experiment with these..so I only have a 1911, a 2011 and my race guns...

    9x23 Conversion?

Heard of some people doing the conversion...heard only issue was some mags had some trouble..but correctible..think there might be some info over at pistolsmith..one of the guys I heard doing this conversion was David Difabio..runs ammolab.com and a training place called the responsible shooter in PA..
  6. Looks like a mounting pad for the mount... McLearn guns were very sweet running guns....I miss my caspian open gun...Sold it off many years ago..when I quit shooting...very nice gun
  7. If its a static stage..el pres, etc..I usually engage left to right... if its an array in a stage..the stage will dictate how I shoot..depending on movers, activators, movement.. I usually train in both directions..so I am comfortable and as proficient either direction.

    Sucking

Jack..sorry to hear your return was so frustrating..I remember coming back last year and shooting after leaving for 5 years...the first couple of matches were kind of tough..because I could remember shooting at the M-level.. Well .at least you can figure..it can only get better.. I'm looking forward to seeing you out at matches again...hope to see ya sometime soon. Stuart
  9. It was pretty cool.. He adjusted my draw...so I've been doing repetitions trying to get the new motion memorized..seems pretty smooth...see what it is on the timer later this weekend..I think my only shock of the afternoon..was when he grabbed my gun and had a checkering file in the other hand...oh the horror...
  10. Was supposed to take class with Matt in Colorado, when my wife got ill and I couldn't make it... Chatted with Matt and he said hey, I'm at the range..come on up and shoot..very cool..hung out for couple of hours...Shot about 100 rounds, Matt gave me some tips on my draw, reloading, presentation and transitions.and other good stuff.. It was all pretty informal..but I feel like I picked up a lot of information..things to work on and try to keep me busy for a month or so.. Only thing..our session was interrupted by none other than BE...with a phone call about computers... man..of all things... Even interesting was watching Matt set up his SV 9mm for a IDPA match this weekend.. anyway..it was very cool..I got some stuff to work on..
  11. Yup..thats what I would call... if anyone can take a beautiful piece of craftmanship and beat the crap out of it..TitanDriver can and will....
  12. A buddy of mine has had pretty good service with Johnny Lim..He and his wife have guns from him..his latest is a tigercat with four blowholes....can't wait to catch up with to try it out... We have one of the SV IMM guns in the club I shoot with and seems to shoot pretty flat...gun is really light and I like that..it is loud though..I have shot it a little..but not enough to make a good judgement if I were to really want one.. both are really cool..if I only had the money to burn...
  13. TDean.. you're welcome to come pound rounds through mine...
  14. Flex. what problems are you having finding and tracking the dot..I was going to play with this...I got a J-point and having Ross Carter work up amount for me...your insight would be greatly appreciated..thanks
  15. very cool thanks... I'd be curious too about the short buttstock..I have a rockriver M4 but it has the full size buttstock..it fit fine shooting, but have always liked the CARs.. thanks again
  16. Where did your order that rail from?? part #? thanks..think I might add one to my short AR...
  17. I would go for George Smith at EGW or Chuck Rogers at Rogers Precision
  18. Yup on the fiber optic....man for the life of me..I can;t remember the color..aaarrrrgggghhhhhhhhh....
  19. From my notes...the grip pressure that Robbie showed us he uses is actually light...it is an even pressure that felt lighter than a firm handshake... He certainly does have some mojo...it great to be standing on the line shooting and having TGO about 2 feet from your face and screaming.."WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

    9x23 Brass

The Winchester brass is incredibly hard to find...you just have to keep cruising for it..it is thicker than the 9mmsuper comp brass and I like having it...I have gotten several loadings out what I have in use... but the only readily available brass is the starline..good luck..
  21. Spent the day in Montrose, Co. before the Wincehster Challenge and the Handgunner shootoff in a class with TGO.. what a blast...we spent the first part of the morning just asking questions and getting TGO's perspective on shooting and how to shoot. Then off to the range..we spent the morning on paper..going over some real basic stuff and then shooting some practice drills and testing the level of each shooter.. Tell you what..what a deal to stand on the line and shoot with TGO...we did one of Robbie's drills shooting one shot up to 10 shots with a 5 sec par and keep them all in the A-zone from 10 yards. pretty fun. and not too hard..but then Robbie walked up to me and said.."it really is done in with a 3 second par" He said he was testing to see where people would panic and start sacrificing accuracy for speed and begin missing. So TGO looks at us and says..lets go..3 seconds...I was surprised at how smoothly I could shoot that morning..10 shots in the a-zone we averaged 2.5 to 2.6 seconds..then we finished the morning with Bill-Drills.. the afternoon we spent shooting plate racks..( we were afterall at the handgunner) and again..going head to head with TGO on the racks..a lot of fun..even got to shoot about a hundred rounds out of TGO's racegun... All in all a great day...TGO, his dad, his mom, the family dog and about 20 students.. oh yeah..also learned a few things too....
  22. Jack...glad to here you are coming back...I found it was even more fun coming back after quitting for a while..I brought a lot more perspective to it this time. Hey..think about coming out for Mile-Hi showdown. Not quite the same match as it was way back when..but still a lot of fun.. Stuart W.
  23. Yes , it has a carbon fiber look to the face of the holster that is facing out..I found I liked grinding the bottom of the holster down a little to the same level as the bottom of the trigger guard; so when I get my grip my hand is in the right contact on the frame. I don't feel and resisitence on mine but I took some fine emery and sanded the inside of the holster and the outside surface of my trigger guard..made it very slick...anyway...cool holster..nice for both the open and limited guns..before I needed two safarilands setup for two guns..
  24. Personally I think it is very smooth and fast. I don;t feel any resistance on my gun at all..I love the retention it offers too. I have uses safariland stuff for a long time and looked long and hard when I finally made a switch to this holster..
