  1. From my notes...the grip pressure that Robbie showed us he uses is actually light...it is an even pressure that felt lighter than a firm handshake... He certainly does have some mojo...it great to be standing on the line shooting and having TGO about 2 feet from your face and screaming.."WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

    9x23 Brass

The Winchester brass is incredibly hard to find...you just have to keep cruising for it..it is thicker than the 9mmsuper comp brass and I like having it...I have gotten several loadings out what I have in use... but the only readily available brass is the starline..good luck..
  3. Spent the day in Montrose, Co. before the Wincehster Challenge and the Handgunner shootoff in a class with TGO.. what a blast...we spent the first part of the morning just asking questions and getting TGO's perspective on shooting and how to shoot. Then off to the range..we spent the morning on paper..going over some real basic stuff and then shooting some practice drills and testing the level of each shooter.. Tell you what..what a deal to stand on the line and shoot with TGO...we did one of Robbie's drills shooting one shot up to 10 shots with a 5 sec par and keep them all in the A-zone from 10 yards. pretty fun. and not too hard..but then Robbie walked up to me and said.."it really is done in with a 3 second par" He said he was testing to see where people would panic and start sacrificing accuracy for speed and begin missing. So TGO looks at us and says..lets go..3 seconds...I was surprised at how smoothly I could shoot that morning..10 shots in the a-zone we averaged 2.5 to 2.6 seconds..then we finished the morning with Bill-Drills.. the afternoon we spent shooting plate racks..( we were afterall at the handgunner) and again..going head to head with TGO on the racks..a lot of fun..even got to shoot about a hundred rounds out of TGO's racegun... All in all a great day...TGO, his dad, his mom, the family dog and about 20 students.. oh yeah..also learned a few things too....
  4. Jack...glad to here you are coming back...I found it was even more fun coming back after quitting for a while..I brought a lot more perspective to it this time. Hey..think about coming out for Mile-Hi showdown. Not quite the same match as it was way back when..but still a lot of fun.. Stuart W.
  5. Yes , it has a carbon fiber look to the face of the holster that is facing out..I found I liked grinding the bottom of the holster down a little to the same level as the bottom of the trigger guard; so when I get my grip my hand is in the right contact on the frame. I don't feel and resisitence on mine but I took some fine emery and sanded the inside of the holster and the outside surface of my trigger guard..made it very slick...anyway...cool holster..nice for both the open and limited guns..before I needed two safarilands setup for two guns..
  6. Personally I think it is very smooth and fast. I don;t feel any resistance on my gun at all..I love the retention it offers too. I have uses safariland stuff for a long time and looked long and hard when I finally made a switch to this holster..
  7. Ghost photos try this link couple of photos
  8. get one fitted and blended and then send the part to Virgil at Tripp research. They will Cobra Coat or hardchrome small parts fairly cheaply and quick..
  9. Should be legal..what is legal for limited is generally legal for L10..just 10 round rule applies.
  10. I like the E2 a lot..I have small hands, short fingers..so the double action first shot is tough for me..I found it very reliable and shot very well when in the single action mode. I played with a steyr m9 and liked that a lot too..it has a short trigger reset and sits very low in the hand. but I got interested in open division and am having a lot of fun with that now... I will get back to production..I need to shoot some good classifiers..most likely will end up with a Glock or XD tactical when I do. and then onto revolver too..so I got a lot to do..but it will all need to wait till at least after nationals
  11. look for exercises and stretches for tendonitis..(tennis elbow), also take ibprofen or some other anti-inflamatory, and might try a neoprene brace to help support the joint. I do the stretches and take the ibprofen..also helped after I stopped shooting a hybricomp gun.. good luck..if i remember.there might be thread here on stretches..
  12. When I shot an E2..I used the bladetech holster and pouches..liked them a lot..seemed like a good combination..you might try ebay or gunbroker..should be lots of surplus around..
  13. There is movie from Hong Kong which has lot of IPSC...it is subtitled..much of the action is with IPSC race guns..hero and bad guy both use guns with scopes... trying to remember the name.. In Eraser..main security guy has a Beretta I think with a c-more on it...
  14. My lesson..is to make sure it stays fun... I shot seriously for several years and it just got to be a lot of work..I quit for a couple of years and then slowly got back into it..now I am having a blast again... then my lessons are: Use equipment that works, don't switch anything before the match. Relax Call my shots, stay focused If I don;t have too..makes no sense to stand out in the rain or snow.. and there you go...
  15. There is really no advantage to doing so purposely.. If you want to shoot seriously you would shoot a .40. Too much is given up when shooting minor...especially when comparing B and C-zone shots. It can be done..but takes a lot of hard work....I usually do it for fun..as all I have in a limited configuration is a 9x23 gun.. If you want to shoot for fun..by all m eans do it....most likely end up in the top 1/4 of the pack..if you win..that is quite a testimony to your shooting that day..
  16. I had a lot of trouble with these for awhile a still do occasionally.. but what works for me.. find all the targets...be sure of the round count..I look at the course description, then walk the targets to be sure I see all of them and verify the round count. Then I look for all the targets that can be shot from mulitple positions to mark them in my mind. Don;t want to shoot a target too many times.. Then I try and see all the different ways to engage the targets. Try to find the most natural way with the least movement on my part. I try and find markers in the stage to signal targets in my mind. Then I choreograph the stage..slowly, usually twice to see bad spots. then a little faster to commit to memory.. I will do this in my mind while others shoot and really work through it on my walkthroughs... The key to me, is not to get distracted when I am forming this my mind..if someone wants to talk to me..I will ask them to wait till I get through my entire walk through..so I do not have a mental break in the middle of my mental run through.. anyway.. the key for me is focus on what I am doing, minimize the distractions ( people chit chating with me during the process). and completing the walkthrough in its entirety.. I hope that helps a little.
  17. Got two of them...both with EGW hard sears...I like them a lot...not sure of the mainspring,,think its a 17# or 18#. One has a Ti strut the other a steel..mainly cuz that is what George put in them...

    TEXAS STAR

we had a star in a field course this past weekend about 10 yards of movement..three small poppers..two paper, six plates on rack and texas star half covered by no shoot..... just over 14 seconds..
  19. Almost thought I had this one today... 1st run 2.08, second run 1.86.. pulled the trigger too soon on the last target..just edged the thing... guess it doesn;t count..maybe next time
  20. Hey..I still think that is way cool..you should see me try and pull the trigger for six shots with my revolver...you could probably shoot six and reload and shoot that six in that time... no matter..congratulations...
  21. I stopped shooting for a few years...started up again a couple of years ago with production and L10 for some fun..now the bug is back and I feel I am now standing in front of the mountain....I just saw the recent update and I am at 93.493 in open... woo boy...just need to bring that up 1.5%...
  22. Wow...that is a hell of an accomplishment...way to go..
  23. Personally I think 3k is a bit much and very hard to justify... fortunately I have great luck at being far below that figure...no problem on the thread drift.. what do people think about $2900 to $3600 for a open gun..seen some single stacks where people are asking 4k... if anyone has anymore info on ways to shorten guns, lengthen slide stroke..I appreciate the info..
