  1. I have probably less than 10,000 on my Ruger .357. It is barely run in.... I clean what I can reach without removing any parts. Maybe a drop of oil into the trigger mechanism every once in a while. Maybe strip it a bit once a year, to get soot and gunk out of the internals.
  2. Perhaps there's a flaw in the question. Just a thought.
  3. Rushing the second shot after all? What gun is it? Is your trigger too far or too near?
  4. Get an Aimpoint, if there's a model that suits what you are doing.
  5. In USPSA (and IPSC) Revolver, you can have handgun and equipment in front. No restriction for position on the belt.
  6. Our very small local Level I matches feel pretty random, with a few stages in two large adjacent bays and one guy (MD, RM, CRO) in charge, and whoever is available running the timer. The Level II matches that I've been going to have a Pre Match for the crew, the day before, with RO's going and shooting with the squad. Then the ROs and other crew stay with the stages for the Main Match. Going with the squad, as RO, feels rushed to me. Staying with the stage can be more relaxed, without the need to hurry to the next stage. I have time to see that targets get replaced when needed, I get to know any particular issues that the RO needs to watch out for at that stage, and the stage is run efficiently, equally and consistently for everybody. Using Practiscore, shooting order is handled automatically, unless there's a particular reason to adjust it.

    Mini boom

I know that my Glock doesn't fire out of battery. There's something wrong if it does.

    Mini boom

Will that Glock fire if the slide is out of battery?
  9. I'm sure it took me a while to get used to moving quickly with a handgun in my hand. Dry firing surely helped with making it instinctive to get the trigger finger up on the gun frame when not shooting. Also dry fire mixed with movement in various directions - while ensuring that the gun is pointed in the safe direction at all times. Those things become more or less instinctive with enough repetitions. Knowing you will be safe increases confidence. It is easier to go fast when you are confident.
  10. The Blade Tech holster should do it. I have one for a Glock. There's many other sources for kydex holsters and mag pouches, though. Here, people have been talking about Red Hill Tactical ( https://www.redhilltactical.com/19112011-Parts-and-Holsters_c_12.html ) - and I recently came across Long's Shadow holsters ( https://www.lsholster.com/concealed-carry/ ). These are at lest semi-custom, with many options.
  11. Slamming the cylinder open and closed?

    Enlarging Grip

Maybe better experiment with something non-permanent anyway. Once you lay down the epoxy, going back will be hard work.
  13. My inner belt overlaps in the front. That is just the easiest for me, whatever I do with the outer. I've been shooting Divisions with gear "behind the hip", so overlapping the outer in front comes naturally. I'll set up for Revolver for the winter, and will try overlapping at the back for that.
  14. S&B factory rounds have never given me trouble but I shoot them through a Glock. Mud on the rounds would explain it. I'd inspect the chamber in good light to see if it got scratched in the process.
  15. https://www.idpa.com/wp-content/themes/idpa/assets/match-files/2017_Rule_Book.pdf 8.2.5 Revolver Division (REV) ... 8.2.6.1 The use of trimmed (shortened) ammunition is not allowed. 8.2.6.2 Ammunition used must match the cartridge listed on the firearm with the following exceptions: A. .38 special in .357 magnum B. .44 special in .44 magnum C. .45 Auto Rim or .45 GAP in .45 ACP D. .45 ACP or .45 GAP in .45 Colt E. .40 S&W in 10mm
  16. Short answer: YES! That is what just about everybody uses for .40 in my corner of the world, and many other places. Vihtavuori online data can get you started, and I'm sure there's good recipes listed in threads here.
  17. The customer service at Dillon must be worth something. Mike at Dillon replied to my email the next working day after I broke a part on my ancient SDB (the website doesn't promise quite that fast). A new warranty replacement sub-assembly was on its way to me in no time. The package took a while to get from one part of Europe to another but you cannot fault Dillon for that....
  18. ^ A slight tangent: At a newbie safety course, one guy was giving me blood pressure with his trigger finger during reloads. Turns out he had a pistol with a mag release that is easier manipulated with the index finger. The finger movement to release his magazine was very disconcerting as I was used to people doing it with the thumb. I suggested that he should mention it to ROs before shooting.
  19. Er .... what? You cannot make Major with a 9mm in USPSA Limited (or IPSC Standard). What sport are you talking about?
  20. 10.6.1 Competitors will be disqualified from a match for conduct which a Range Officer deems to be unsportsmanlike. Examples of unsportsmanlike conduct include, but are not limited to...
  21. OK, it is provisional for two years. From what I've seen from the year it was provisional in some Regions, it is taking off. I'm not convinced that both versions will survive but one is pretty sure. Two years is too short?
  22. IPSC Production Optics is official for 2019 ... and Production Optics Lite.
  23. Looks much like: https://www.ipscstore.com/en/suomiase-holsters/1530-28-002011-suomiase-2-ipsc-sport-holster-2000000015309.html
  24. Just use the lightest 12 loads when you don't need the power.
  25. I will. I'm hoping that more people will consider that option.
