  1. It also helps if the RO remembers to bring the timer up where he/she can see the numbers for the last shots.
  2. Can you get a photo of your pistol in your holster? I'm thinking that if the holster does not prevent trigger acces, it might not be the correct model for the pistol.
  3. Do you have any representative picture of what you have in mind?
  4. I could only find pics of Butler cuts, where the frame is pretty long. There's a limit on frame length in IPSC rules.
  5. The thumb on the lever thing has happened to me with a few different handgun designs.
  6. I think these are the essential holster rules for Limited: 5.2.7 Competitors must not be permitted to commence a course of fire wearing: 5.2.7.1 A shoulder holster or “tie-down” rig (visible or otherwise), except as specified in Rule 5.2.8. 5.2.7.2 A holster with the heel of the butt of the handgun below the top of the belt, except as specified in Appendix D, or otherwise indicated in Rule 5.2.8. 5.2.7.3 A holster with the muzzle of the handgun pointing further than 3 feet from the competitor’s feet while standing relaxed, 5.2.7.4 A holster which does not completely prevent access to, or activation of, the trigger while holstered. ... ... APPENDIX D2 —Limited Division ... 12 Restriction on position of holster and other equipment No
  7. That is one thing. For me, CZ grips fit my hands better than any 2011 grip that I've had my hand on. The TS that I shot a little was especially good.
  8. Better browse that rule book anyway, before you go to a Match.
  9. Is the new belt gear for Glock or 2011? Don't rush to the next gun. Shoot your Glock some more. Handle other guns when you have the chance. Shoot some other guns if you can. 2011 is what most go for in Limited - but there are those who actually prefer Tanfoglio and CZ pistols. Something like a CZ TS or TSO would be high on my list for a Limited gun.
  10. The CZ slide release seems to go at some point. People usually keep a spare, or use an old one for practice and new one for competition. I don't have a CZ now, and don't recall any numbers on how long people have shot on one release. 10,000?
  11. I haven't forgotten targets this year. There was one that I shot twice. I could see it about half way through, and then at the very end....
  12. At a match a couple of months ago, there was a short retreat on a short stage. One competitor got a DQ for breaking 180 there. At least one got feedback, AFTERWARDS, for being very close to 180. I think that is the way it should be.
  13. As with any CZ, get a spare slide release.
  14. How do aluminum grips hold up? Recently, a guy who likes to fiddle with his pistol complained that the mag release mechanism on his plastic grip had worn out the plastic that holds it.
  15. The Matches I've been going to have very little time between competitors. Efficient scoring and patching.
  16. I don't think I'm counting shots. It is more like I plan, and keep track of, which targets I want to shoot before I reload.
  17. There isn't usually much time for picking up brass while the contest is going on. Maybe just a few. The main opportunity is really once it is over. Last year, I shot a match in Revolver, and using .357 Mag. The tapers were kind enough to retrieve my speedloaders and much of my brass. Which was great. The usual thing here is that ROs and helpers shoot the match on Saturday, and paying competitors just shoot on Sunday (no work).
  18. I see what you mean. Tried it with my GP100. Can't keep the strong left hand on the revolver because it gets in the way of extraction. If I support the index finger with the middle finger, the revolver is hanging on the thumb only, and some corners of the frame hurt the knuckle of the thumb. The strong left hand slap would be more reliable ... if that is worth more than the increased time. Does IDPA allow moonclips? During an informal steel match during the weekend, I briefly handled a GP100 that was machined for moonclips, and a good gunsmith had polished some trigger surfaces. It was nice.
  19. Is there a way to get more than that one finger into it? I struggle to figure out a lefty reload. My righty one has me slapping the GP100 extractor rod with my weak hand palm: the hard part in the knuckles area.
  20. I don't think there's any simple way to extend the extractor star movement. I was thirst thinking of hitting the rod harder and ensuring you are near vertical. If that is not feasible, even shorter cases should help: .38 Short Colt.
  21. Does Steel Challenge require holsters for rimfire? I thought they do rimfire from low ready. ... too lazy to look up the rules, to confirm ...
  22. Just rephrasing what Laugo Arms say on their facebook page.
  23. Looks like there's a trigger blocking safety on the trigger.
  24. In the gold old days, there weren't a gazillion different Divisions that Practical Shooters could argue about. I'm sure the Rule Book was smaller too.
  25. It won't be cheap. From what I hear, it will be priced like a GOOD 2011 (as opposed to cheap 2011). It might be very good indeed. Hope there's some in real people's hands early next year - and we get more experience and feedback on what it is really like.
