  1. Accept your dq like an adult. As in "put your big boy panties on". But I have never heard that phrase used for a match.
  2. I shot limited minor at the last major match I shot. Came out about the same as when I shot limited major. I was shooting 40 in minor. If I would have shot 9 and had higher capacity, might have made more of a difference.
  3. If it fits in the box and holds 10 in the mag, go for it. If it holds less, you are hurting yourself. All I have ever seen shot in production is 9mm, for the cost factor.
  4. Last L2 match I worked, there was a 3X3 square in front of the safe area table. I know because I put them there. There was one safe table for every two stages. Just had to wait your turn. Every squad didn't finish at the same time. As shooters would finish their last stage, they would go to the safety table and bag their gun. Didn't have a problem.
  5. I spray a little low-odor mineral spirits on a towel. Dump about 100 loaded rounds on the towel. Grab each end of the towel and rock back an forth.
  6. I misread the rule. It appears that you can have all steel, just not all metal plates.
  7. We have one or two guys that occasionally shoot two divisions. Usually not a problem.
  8. I use a barney mag. Put it in an rack the slide. When I take it out, if a round is missing, that's a clue that one is in the chamber. I put a fresh mag in the gun and I'm ready to go.
  9. I'm asking because I don't know the answer. Could the gun have fired out of battery? I have never seen a case split like that while in the chamber.
  10. I'm not too accurate, but I make up for it by shooting slow.
  11. 2.2.1.1 Should be constructed of wooden boards or other suitable material.........0.75 inch is the allowable minimum size. A rope at least 3/4 in is acceptable, if attached firmly in place.
  12. Then why do you need a revolver to shoot in revolver class? Why do you need a single stack gun to shoot in single stack. It's what the division is made for. Open is open, not "dot". Lets do like they do in kiddie league baseball and soccer, bring what you want and nobody keeps score.
  13. Why don't we just announce a match, people can bring whatever gun they want, and the organizers of the match have to make arrangements for whatever shows up.
  14. Don't see why not. And I hope this doesn't go 6 pages.
  15. I can't believe there is that much disagreement at local club matches. This should be fun. If guys were always fussing about something, don't think I would continue shooting there. One foot in-one foot out, how much time could that save. And I'm not saying not to write a good stage briefing. Write it the best you can and lets go shooting.
  16. No, that is not logical. It's silly, in fact. You are asserting that only 2 states of being exist, either inside the shooting area or outside the shooting area. That is false, just like it would be for most other day-to-day situations. I disagree. I understand that you want to disagree -- but you're going to wait a very long time to shoot the stage, if you disagree with the RO. It's pretty simple really -- RO just won't start your run..... I said that 2 pages ago And I said it on page 1
  17. I case gauge since, besides making sure it fits in the gun, it gives me an opportunity to check the primer. Make sure it's seated and not upside down.
  18. Don't care, as long as it doesn't cause the matches to change their format or stages and doesn't slow down the match.
  19. Peyton has a passing camp every summer in Thibodaux. If you were still in high school, you could come to it. And for a special treat, his brother and dad come too.
  20. The terminology used during a match is sometimes wrong. If you are penalized for a foot fault, most people say that you are "outside" the shooting box. The terminology should be that you are "not inside" the shooting box. Again, "outside" is not in the rule. Now I'm going to the gym.
  21. You are letting the English language get in the way. Just because you are not inside, the opposite does not have to be true. And if we don't rain out Sunday, I should see Troy. I'll ask him.
  22. If you have a foot touching outside of the shooting area you are considered outside the shooting area. I think this is where you are wrong. The word "outside" is not in the rule. If you have a foot touching outside the shooting box, you are considered no longer inside the shooting box. Think of it as all in, all out and half in and half out. You are penalized for being all out or half in and half out. So, to me, half in and half out does not work if you are instructed to start outside the box.
  23. Not gonna argue with you. You asked a question and I answered it. Nowhere in 10.2.1 does it mention "outside". It tells you that if both feet aren't inside, that you are no longer inside. In my opinion, same would be true for being outside, if both feet aren't outside, then you are no longer outside.
