  1. Yes: Tool head 1 = RCBS X-die station 1, Modified Lee Quick Trim in station 4, working on motorizing it. Tool head 2 = Powder die, seater and crimp die.
  2. Gave us a laugh though. Cart obstacle courses suck!
  3. According to this rule it looks a little low (this rule applys in every division except Single Stack): 5.2.7 Competitors must not be permitted to commence a course of fire wearing: ... 5.2.7.2 A holster with the heel of the butt of the handgun below the top of the belt, except as specified in Appendix D, or otherwise indicated in Rule 5.2.8. ... 5.2.8 (Law enforcement/military on Active Duty orders) Edited to show start of the rule.
  4. Extraction problem could be dirty gun, too heavy recoil spring/main spring, ejector, bad chamber (think damaged as in tight)... The extractor is only part of this equation.
  5. Looking the mag into the gun is good, an additional comment just in case it hasn't been stated, if you do a split second pause right before the magazine hits the magwell/grip it confirms the alignment and allows the old magazine time to get out of the way (yes some people (not me) do it that fast). (The pause can be so short most observers won't notice it.)
  6. If it meets the below requirements yes Max. distance of handgun and *Handgun and Mags - 2” mags/speed loaders from inner side of belt Holster restrictions •Suitable for everyday use. “Race gun” type holster prohibited. •May not be manufactured or cut lower than, and must cover the slide up to, ½” below the ejection port (belt slide “Yaqui” type holster exempt). See appendix E2 for measurements, and D4 for Production.
  7. Closer to 50-50 than I would have thought. (I thought 9 Major would be higher than it is.)
  8. In post 10 the OP stated that he switches which one he shoots first.
  9. I wear a cowboy hat a lot because I like it, and it is good shade when working outside. (I also live in the sticks, no ranch though)
  10. Kind of this, although it does depend on the gun. My old open gun ran the best at about a 200pf (9x25), The one I use now works best at about 175pf.
  11. A long time ago I had a couple of short loaded mags in my pouches. I then changed my routine to partial mags go in pockets, only full mags go in the pouches. Then the partials get cleaned/ refilled when I get a break.
  12. Yes, of course then she wants an equal amount for something else... Good thing my last 2 guns were free...
  13. I apologize that I was not clear on when I would stop someone for parts falling off of the gun. As the RO I have seen the rear sight come off, and the front sight come off (or loose the fiber), I have not stopped the shooter for these parts (or the guide rod). If I suspect a unsafe gun I will stop the shooter though. 5.7.7 In the event that a Range Officer terminates a course of fire due to a suspicion that a competitor has an unsafe handgun or unsafe ammunition (e.g. a “squib” load), the Range Officer will take whatever steps he deems necessary to return both the competitor and the range to a safe condition. The Range Officer will then inspect the handgun or ammunition and proceed as follows: ... (rules continue...)
  14. I quit shooting matches for about 8 years... All kids out, now I have some time to shoot. Still can't travel far for matches though (even moved out kids can be expensive).
  15. That 'could' do it, especially during recoil. You could try moving the finger tips down to where you are pushing on the strong hand finger bones and see if the magazine still falls out.
  16. Nils gun did not break during his run. The RO gave the command to make ready, the start was unloaded gun in the table. When Nils put his gun on the table the safety fell off. After getting permission from the RO he went to the safe area to fix his gun. This is the rule that would apply in Nils case, so he would be re-started after the gun was repaired. 5.7.1 A competitor who experiences a handgun malfunction while responding to the “Make Ready” command, but prior to issuance of the “Start Signal”, is entitled to retire to repair his handgun without penalty, under the authority and supervision of the officiating Range Officer and subject to the provisions of Rule 5.7.5, Rule 8.3.1.1, and all other safety rules. Once the repairs have been completed (and the provisions of Rule 5.1.7 have been satisfied, if applicable), the competitor may return to attempt the course of fire, subject to scheduling as determined by the officiating Range Officer or Range Master. If the gun breaks after the start signal no re-shoot as was previously pointed out. ('Stop' is the correct call if the RO thought the gun was un-safe, if I see a part fall off a gun I would probably call 'Stop' also and then sort it out.)
  17. Many finishes; Ceracoat, Ion Bond, Hard Chrome, Boron Nitride... Naked is also a good look for stainless.
  18. If you are using USPSA rules here are the ones that apply: (from Multigun rule set) 2.6.7 In the event that a Range Officer terminates a course of fire due to a suspicion that a competitor has an unsafe firearm or unsafe ammunition (e.g. a "squib" load), the Range Officer will take whatever steps he deems necessary to return both the competitor and the range to a safe condition. The Range Officer will then inspect the firearm or ammunition and proceed as follows: 2.6.7.1 If the Range Officer finds evidence that confirms the suspected problem, the competitor will not be entitled to a reshoot, but will be ordered to rectify the problem. On the competitor’s score sheet, the time will be recorded up to the last shot fired, and the course of fire will be scored "as shot", including all applicable misses and penalties. 2.6.7.2 If the Range Officer discovers that the suspected safety problem does not exist, the competitor will be required to reshoot the stage. I did not vote in the poll as there are no answers I would consider correct. Basicly if there is a squib and there is a bullet in the barrel = no reshoot, no bullet in the barrel = reshoot. (I am pretty sure all of the rule sets I have used are basically the same in regards to a squib.)
  19. Atlas Shrugged, good read (really long though)
  20. ^^^ THIS!! BC OR you could do what I do and PLAN as you shoot. . . . . . . well that's the way it seems anyhow That's called walk-thru, plan, forget... BTDT My best results happen when I commit to a plan, rehearse it and let the sub-concious execute it.
  21. I have a Next Intent Tactical mount that I am setting up, it has a rail for a small red dot also. It may be worth looking into. http://www.nitactical.com
  22. I've used the Blade-tech and the Safariland they both work either direction. I prefer bullets pointing back, try both as previously stated and see what you are more comfortable with. Edited for Spelling...
  23. Check this thread also - http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=182667&hl= Check some of your resized cases (not loaded), if they gauge it is a bullet/ crimp/ straightness issue. If they do not it may be a glocked brass issue or a die issue if so the Lee U-die or a push thru die like the Redding die or a CasePro may help (case pro is expensive though).
