  1. ^^ What I did.^^ CWA has gotten a lot of my funds for parts, sights, mag internals/extensions.... It's a fun rim fire steel gun.
  2. Damn, I totally forgot about it. I was sitting watching "Jack Frost" (the 1979 stop motion animation) with my daughter....
  3. Time to pull this one up from the depths I think- Who all will be in?
  4. I would opt for dis-assembly myself, lessens the chance of slipping/damaging something else. I would first do what Bob recommends, and while looking down into the magwell mark the area with a sharpie so you know beyond a shadow of a doubt where the work needs done (I keep both a black and a silver one in my bag just for this reason).
  5. ^^Exactly^^ Click below- TJ'S 1911 SERIES '80 TO SERIES '70 CONVERSION SHIMS
  6. I use no-gap for 9mm with Metalform 10rd mags and standard basepad with the mag (had to relieve the front of the insert a minuscule amount. I use the gapped insert on my .45 with 8rd shooting star mags and standard screw on bumpers. Never had a miss with either.
  7. Exactly, this is what it is all about. One stage is just that, one stage. I blew the classifier at WSSSC this past week, and it was the 6th of 13 stages I had to shoot. I just laughed it off and moved on. Once it is done it can't be changed, so don't sweat it.
  8. I'd imagine the top spot will be claimed by a man shooting an STI framed McLearn 40... but that's just my guess. What would your 2nd guess be? I was so busy on my stage that I never even paid attention to what Rob and Nils were running. Angus was easy though, he was running a 9mm, and only needed 31 rounds (IIRC) to complete it, and take the "W" (stage 3).
  9. It was a fantastic day with even better weather. Looking forward to working a stage over the weekend, it will be a good time.
  10. 48yrs old now, had L4-L5 fused 4 years ago last month. Had this little bit of hardware installed- Was off for 3 months of recovery. 5 months after surgery I road 100+ mi bike "race". Year and a half after that I was training for triathlon. November of last year I finished Ironman AZ, with a foot that was just a little bit less swollen than what you see below (the hardest thing about IM is making it to the start without an injury)- It's all about what you put into it, what you want to accomplish, and refusal to give up no matter what. (And I got back into USPSA about 4 month ago after life forced me to take many years off from it.)
  11. I run green on my pistols, as well as my shotgun. This color, plus Oakley 00 red polarized lenses makes the green pop like you wouldn't believe.
  12. I sent one in that I got used with a pistol I bought here. First I communicated with CS by email, to discuss service. Shipped it out on 5/29 with the following info in the shipping box (and also forwarded to CS in email)- I received it back today with new LED module/adjustment block (it appeared that the original had separated from the adjustment block), new elevation screw/assembly, new windage screw, new adjustment lockdown screws, and a new battery. Took some time to boresight in the house, and will take it out tomorrow to see how it holds up.
  13. 11 days from order to delivery- I ordered 8x small inner TMMS attachments.
  14. Got this last night at 12:03 AM AZ time. BE.com worked just fine. Can't tell you when it came back (or how many people were viewing), I gave up on trying to look at the forum after 10min of trying to open the page on a new tab/refreshing the other.
  15. Hey, they run! Mine has had the innards totally replaced (save for the trigger and ejector), and is keeping pace with many 1911's that others I have been shooting matches with (but at a fraction of the cost).
  16. Head over here and ask them yourself- Taran Tactical Subforum They are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I have found that you will need to force the rounds in (usually though around 16-17 IIRC) until you get a slight "burnishing" of the follower that makes it much easier to load later. You could sand/cut to bevel the follower, but my experience with the Taran extensions is that shouldn't be necessary.
  17. I bet you had some nice key holes in the target too....
  18. ^^THIS^^ Since coming back to the hobby after such a long extended break, I have found the information here to be quite helpful.
  19. A couple of weeks ago I chrono'd 5 rounds of WWB 165's out of my M&P Pro 5" (I was testing 9/40 out of my 3 M&P's) 1 993 fps 163.8 2 1031 fps 170.1 3 1000 fps 165 4 1017 fps 167.8 5 1028 fps 169.6 I did some drills and practice with it Thursday of last week and was happy with how it grouped (as long as I did my part). I then used it for a match on Saturday and it performed well- accuracy was acceptable (except on a !@#$! Texas star that left me stumped).
  20. Have you considered looking into a solid tungsten rod for a Glock?
  21. I have had 2 of 4 orders from CW Accessories misdirected by USPS (the 2nd, and now my latest). The 2nd came all the way to AZ, then went to PA, then back to AZ. The one I am waiting for now got lost in OH somehow for the last 3 days, when it was supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Finally get to order some real sights for my GSG 1911/.22 and they go MIA.....
  22. Requested and approved, much appreciated.
  23. I couldn't find The Brass Bank on a FB search. From looking at the pics above, it appears to be a closed group. Do I need an invite?
