  1. I bought one and will use it for production here shortly. I replaced the sear and springs (except for improved striker block) with Apex parts, and that alone lowered the pull to a sweet 2.5lbs. It groups nicely and I'm looking forward to doing more with it beyond just practice and familiarization sessions. I've already put close to 500rds through it of factory and reloads without a single hiccup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I wasn't able to get out last week, but should be headed to the range shortly. I bought some 165gr Frontiers (TCJ) that I am going to try as well to see how they run. I have high hopes this issue is resolved, and would like to have this pistol up and running 100% with reloads as well as factory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I took Clint's advice and managed to duplicate things today here at home. Rarely did it catch, but the few times it did I gave a slight push to the extractor and it would go into battery. The interesting part is, that it was the only way I could manipulate it to get it to chamber in this condition. So I took 1 1/2 coils off the extractor spring. It still caught a couple of times BUT if I tapped the base of the magazine it chambered the round..... I'll take it out to the range again tomorrow and see if this has resoved the issue.
  4. Interesting to say the least. I have my crimp dead on, zero flare, almost perfectly flat, and when I pull the bullet there is absolutely no impression or anything on the round. I have had it hang up on "auto-forward", mag release, over the top, as well as slingshotting. The factory rounds I fired yesterday that ran 100% were Winchester WB 165's (chrono'd at 168 PF), Federal AE 165's (181 PF). My reloads at a 173 PF (the Bayou 180's), and the Eggleston 165's at 183PF (their suggested load data was a bit hot). I am not convinced a lighter recoil spring will solve my issue here.
  5. I would chase that exclusively if it happened on factory rounds (which it doesn't). I couldn't get out yesterday with anything else other than what I already had (and some factory Winchester and Federal). With new mag springs the reloaded round FTF's were reduced, but not quite gone (+/-5% or so, all mags). Factory ran 100%. In the next couple of days I will have a chance to load some more rounds and give it a shot again.
  6. Fantastic information from everyone, I really appreciate it. Tomorrow I will be headed to the range to try some rounds of varying length, as well as I have some new magazine springs that should be hitting my doorstep from Wolff today. I had also loaded some Eggleston 165's per the load recommendation on their site with the same results as the Bayou's, so I am curious as to whether it's OAL for the rounds, or the mag springs.
  7. Absolutely, they just aren't feeding. Magazine spring maybe? All feedback appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Make that 1.13 OAL.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. 180gr Bayous at approx 1.30 gives me what you see below. Anyone shooting these in their .40 Pro using a different OAL? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have an entire SS rig n ELS. The design of the BS pouches do not lend themselves to being attached in any manner other than how they are designed. I too use Velcro on the back of the loops in order to keep my outer belt securely attached to my inner belt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have been running my Storm pouches and BS belt for two years with the same experience (with my 5" M&P Pro). I got back into USPSA after being out of the game for 17 years and wanted to start slow and easy. Little did I know that I would still be using them 2 years later.....
  13. I shot a match yesterday with the stock release and had an issue with a reload one time because I wasn't able to quickly/completely depress the button. I am considering grinding down the LFA a bit and see if I can still get a little bit of extension and lesson my chances of bumping it. Or I may try something I saw on the S&W forum where Bkreutz actually removed the "shroud" around the mag release to make it easier to depress- LF Arms Extended Mag Release ... FAILURE
  14. I have had periodic issues bumping my LF Arms extended release on my Pro. Needless to say it happens at the most inopportune moments during a stage. Has anyone done a side by side of the LF and Springer parts? Are the profiles the same, or is there slight differences? Any info that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Try one of these with a USPSA kit maybe? https://www.safariland.com/products/holsters-and-gear/holsters/concealable-holsters/paddle/model-5198-open-top-concealment-paddle-belt-loop-holster-with-detent-1175455.html USPSA Kit- http://www.safariland.com/-holsterfinder-duty-gear/uspsa-kit-1166361.html#q=USPSA%2Bkit&start=1 I've used variations of this for my single stack, a G35, and a RIA double stack. Currently for my M&P 5" Pro I am using a Comp-Tac mated up to a Bladetech DOH...
  16. Any mods made to use the Dawson extensions with the TF magwell?
  17. Mecgar P18 mags, Dawson extension, Dawson modified Arredondo insert (I modified a little bit more), Arredondo follower, Arredondo extended mag spring. I have 8 set up this way. When I first used them they held anywhere between 18 and 21 rounds. Once the springs set I was able to get 22 in each mag. Some may consider the mags 21 reloadable, but I have been able to slam 22rds in a pistol without issue during a stage.
  18. I like the look of that thing, but am too deep into mags with Dawson extensions to even think about it right now. I did order the SVI billet wide body trigger bow and short curved insert, the last mod I will probably make to this pistol. On a follow up note- all my mag springs finally have set, and now I get 22 rds in each mag.
  19. I'm not big on flat triggers myself. I know SVI has both the "standard" wide body, as well as the Triglide. Is there any real difference between the two?
  20. So, searching seems to offer little info on replacement triggers. Is the Triglide the only real option?
  21. Does your gun have a mag well? I was under the impression that the Mecgar mags would be to short with Dawson extensions.Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk Yes, mine has the factory mag well. Here it is with one of the Mec-Gar mags and Dawson extension. [/img]
  22. I scored a 9mm /.22 TCM 51947 used from my LGS at a decent price. It looked like it had hardly been fired. I have used it for several matches with a decent amount of success. It runs great on Mec-Gar Para P18 Mags and Dawson Basepads (using Arredondo spring/follower with Dawson modified Arredondo inserts). Only thing about the mags are that they are inconsistent on capacity. 4/8 hold 22 rds, 2/8 21 rds, and the last 2 hold 20 rds (I just plan my stages accordingly). I just want to find a different trigger that I can adjust for take-up.
  23. They are a new product from Taylor Freelance.Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk Are they for the models with mag wells, without, or both? eta- will these work without modification for Dawson extensions? TIA
  24. I have been running the Metalform mags on my Spartan with Ice No Gap, Absolutely perfect combo.
