  1. All of the above is great info that I hadn't considered. I was asking because my G48 MOS is my EDC and was curious if it would be more an exercise than being competitive.
  2. Curious as to what you consider the advantage is of a full size over the G48?
  3. I would think so considering SA is getting 15rds in the stubby little mags that are smaller than a G19 mag.
  4. Anyone run a G48 MOS in CO? Shield Arms mags + extensions gives 20rds reloadable, and the grip (to me) seems extremely comfortable. So I was curious if anyone has given it a go, and what their results have been.
  5. I've taken quite a shine to my G48 MOS with a Romeo0, and 2nd gen S15 mags. I'm diving back into USPSA in CO with a DR920 and a RM08A Amber Triangle...
  6. Run whatever you want. Most will probably suggest getting a G35 ( at the very least) due to longer sight radius etc, but really it’s all about whatever gets you into having fun in the sport. Years ago I started shooting USPSA with a stock 1st Gen G17, and then moved on to a G22 with nothing more than a (-) connector in it. So shoot whatever you like, and then move on to a different model/platform if your interests take you in that direction later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Been carrying one IWB for about 4 months now, totally stock (except for NS's). It's a little cannon with 230gr loads, and very accurate.
  8. These work well, bought a few to try out on some old OEM mags I have. Don't bother getting ones with springs, the springs are trash, buy Wolff +10% for them.
  9. A couple more attached to DOS- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. My holster arrived yesterday, here are a few pics- Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I just snagged this off of Etsy, going to see if it attaches to my BT DOS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. @WarBoom Did you tap the trigger after drilling, or did it pretty much self thread?
  13. @WarBoom What size screw did you use for the pre-travel modification on your trigger? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. He's right, I lost my @$$ on a RIA double stack that no one would even make a fair offer on. In the end it went to my preferred LGS for future credit on something else.
  15. I just recently picked up a TP9SFX, and the only mods I’ve made after unboxing are to put a M&P SSS tungsten rod with 13# spring, M&P stock striker spring, and replaced the firing pin block spring. The trigger group spring replacements dropped the pull from a consistent 5# to 3.5#. I’ll hopefully get to sight it in/wring it out when the weather up north at my favorite range settles down (on my days off). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So it appears (If I condense this a bit), a couple of points- Shoot with prescription glasses on, focus on target with a fuzzy dot Shoot without prescription glasses, have a sharper dot, possibly less clear target Maybe a bigger dot (my addition).... I have a new Canik inbound to go along with my M&P ported PC CORE. It will be interesting to compare the dot from my older VIPER and a new one, and how the pistols compare since I run an un-ported barrel in the M&P for CO (that will be another thread I may start here on BE).
  17. ETA - Disregard. Finally got to some higher resolution images and was able to find the answer to my own question. Received these mags used in a deal I made. The one on the right doesn't have the external markings, the base pad was the same as the others, but came with a plastic follower that I immediately swapped out with a spare Metalform follower that matched the dimensions of the other. Was there different generations of ETM's? http://
  18. Couldn’t find anything in regards to this, here or google (maybe my google-fu is weak?). I put a Vortex Viper red dot on my pistol and have discovered something interesting. When I look through the sight with my glasses on the dot is disfigured with a noticeable tail, but when I remove my glasses it is sharp and pretty well defined. When I have looked through others sights with my glasses on (Romeo, DPP) the dot/triangle is clear and well defined. I sight/shoot with both eyes open. I am right handed and left eye dominant, and wear progressives to correct for my right eye more than my left. When I look at the dot on my pistol without my glasses and right eye only, the dot definitely has a tail, and when I look with my left eye only it looks pretty well defined. Has anyone else run into this, and if so what did you do? Was the solution an adjustment to your prescription/shooting specific glasses, or did you shoot stages with no correction and standard eye protection? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. This is a fantastic piece of info. I checked my SA RO Elite Target using this method and it indicates that SA built mine right (the lever swings freely). I'm a happy man...
  20. I dug around and didn't find a definitive thread or post on this. Has anyone sent the top end off to Mag-na-port to have a second set of ports added to the factory ported barrel (aligned with the slide ports)? I have a standard barrel in the pistol for shooting CO, but have thought about messing around and using it as a base for open before I dive into getting a new barrel/comp etc. Thank for any and all input.
  21. Chances are his finger was on the trigger. It happens more than people think, and most that do have an ND don’t even realize it was their actions that caused it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Another vote for Sharpies. I use silver on my blued mag bodies, and black on stainless.
  23. Yup, I’ve been shooting 1911’s since 1986, and still can’t deactivate the grip safety every time I draw.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. High primers maybe? Does the round fire on a second strike? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Going back to pinning.... I just use a small sliver of a shock buffer in between the MSH and the GS. During re-assembly I just place it on the top of the MSH as I slide it upward while holding the GS down. I have found that this is the simplest and easiest to intall/remove.
