  1. You most definitely are, and it is more than appreciated!
  2. I have used Pachmayr for years, which look a lot like the offering from Tipton....
  3. Interesting thread, I may just strip the black dye off of the one on the right to see if it may have some sort of signature underneath.
  4. Seeing this ad in the classifieds- Bianchi Hemisphere Holster Got me to thinking about what I had sitting in a foot locker out in storage. When I went out and dug into it I found these- The one on the left being an Ernie Hill, and I think the one on the right is a Rogers Hackathorn (dyed black). So just out of curiosity, what's in your old holster box collecting dust?
  5. Manufacturing operations coordinator in semi-conductors. Chances are I had a hand in what is powering many of your PC/laptop/tablet/handheld(s)....
  6. Now you have gone and done it! Reaching for the damn plastic in my wallet right now......
  7. Same boat here, and mine function well also. Until I manage to destroy a few of them I won't be trying anything else (unless of course I find the TTI's at a screaming/can't refuse price).
  8. So I managed to snag a 014 off of ar15.com from a guy that comes with Glock and 1911 inserts. I will contact Safariland to get an insert for the M&P, then start ordering mag carriers with ELS kits to swap everything around according to what I will shoot.
  9. I resorted to GunBroker to find powder. I picked up 16lb of WSF from a shop "next door" in NM. Not what I really wanted, but there is more than enough load data out there that I can make it work for me.

    THIS SPRING?

You are a multitasking animal then!
  11. Thanks for the info sir. I have two franken-rigs set up already, with a third that was in the making. This will give me the opportunity to consolidate most everything to one belt and switch out carriers and such as I swap pistols. Such a fun/money pit of a hobby this is....
  12. I have found that the Black Scorpion carriers can be adjusted to fit either. I bought them to try out (readily available through Amazon w/2 day shipping) before I start buying into Safariland gear. Interesting thing about the BS stuff is that the spacers between the front and back plates can be swapped out to accommodate single stack mags as well.
  13. Big thanks to Youngeyes for seeing what I couldn't. Now back to reading the forum.....
  14. Ah Jeez, I think I just found it here..... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=202912
  15. Forgive me if this has been asked, my search-fu hasn't gotten me much on this. I am curious if the M&P 9L (5") will actually work with the Safariland 014. When I looked on the Safariland site, it indicates that the 014 is only compatible with the thumb safety model (but elsewhere seems to indicate otherwise). Has anyone found anything contrary to this? If you have, and it didn't function/retain the pistol correctly, were there any modifications that made it workable? Now that I am all in on the sport again I am considering setting up a USPSA rig that I can swap between my M&P, G22, and 1911 with just a swap of an insert on the holster, and mag pouches with ELS on the off side. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    THIS SPRING?

My PF9 will be retired if they come out with a SS 9mm (subject to change if I ever make it into my local fun shop and check out a Shield).
  17. ^^This right here^^ My local Ace hardware guys know whenever I manage to screw something up on one of my pieces....
  18. Here, Midway covers it- Note: Does not fit Generation 4 Glocks
  19. I have one on my Gen 3 G22, I doubt that they will fit the Gen 4 models since the little block that goes into the grip is extremely snug.
  20. Quite an interesting way to put it. I myself still have a Gen 3 G17 along with my G22 that I intend to use for Limited/Major. I once had a Gen 4 G26 that seemed to fit my hand better with one of the more curved back strap adapters (probably should have kept that one), so I understand how that particular generation of Glock pistol can be a bit more desirable. If I find myself doing noticeably better with the M&P I will be having to decide if I go all in, or stick it out with what I have now.
  21. If I decide to go the production route I will pull out the G17 I have. Or just go get a standard M&P9 (kind of goes along with the conversion to the order of S&W). If you want a MEDIUM grip insert. I'd suggest you post a "Want To Trade" offer on a couple of relevant forums. I traded a couple of SMALL for MEDIUM just recently. There are lots of ex-police guns being sold right now with random inserts, so you are sure to find someone interested in trading. It appears the member that contacted me a couple of days back is searching for the one he suggested a trade for. That, and the one I bid for on eBay could be the start of a new spare parts obsession. That it is, I have been looking at that site as well as several others that are in the vendor tent here.
  22. So I am obviously one of many that have found the M&P to their liking. I must admit (IMHO) that the ergonomics are superior to Glock. Now I just have to spend a bit of time behind the Smith to see if becoming a full convert to the order of S&W is in my future. Other than the trigger work the only other mods I could see doing would be trying a different mag catch, and adding a mag well (besides the TF mag extensions I have already added). Thought I had a line on a medium back strap here, but that doesn't appear to have panned out. In this case eBay may be my friend. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I could see this as being a very effective "zen" device prior to a stage, or just relaxing all around. Prior to IMAZ I spent hours, and hours, and hours in the pool swimming. I have to say that having a waterproof iPod shuffle and waterproof ear buds made it much easier to focus on stroke etc, but kept other things from the work day and such from crowding my thoughts.
  24. This is the direction I am concerned that I may be headed..... I may end up a total convert. The Apex Trigger Kit makes the pistol twice as good. Most definitely made a difference, I was quite impressed with what a few parts and springs accomplished in what appears to be a somewhat complicated mechanism. I cut my teeth shooting LE "division" over 20 years ago between a G17 and a 1911. Then I got deeper and deeper into the high tech tactical tupperware. Now I am so deep into Gaston's stuff (like a ton of mags, spare parts, etc), than I don't necessarily want to get out of it for fear of losing my assets! For 20+ years my carry piece has been a Glock of some sort (until the Kel Tec PF9 came along), and my esposa totally digs her G26 and G42. Times may be a changing though....
  25. I have been a dyed in the wool Glock man forever (say late 80's). On a whim I picked up a used M&P 9Ls from a buddy just for fun. Needless to say I am hooked, so much so that I will be shooting a G22 for limited major, and the M&P for limited minor (both seem to fit my old Safariland 007, and mag carriers are interchangeable). I like the feel of the Smith with the large backstrap, but need to find a medium to try- it didn't come with one (only a couple of smalls that don't work for me). It even shoots "better" (subjective I know) than a couple of G34's that I had tried in the past (installing an Apex competition trigger kit improved things even more). Have many of you been drawn in like this?
