  1. I have a 650. Station one is decap and resize on the handle down stroke. Station two is prime on the handle upstroke and expand/flare, and powder drop on the down stroke.
  2. This is interesting as I recently used the same power and load with both Acme and Missouri coated bullets, (.40 major) and the Missouri's smoked like lubed lead while the Acme's were hardly noticeable.
  3. Dunno, as I've probably shot at least 7000 S&B primed rounds in 9mm, .40, .45, and .38 Spec and have yet to have one not go off. Glock's, Sig's, CZ, M&P, Beretta's, 1911's, and S&W Revolvers
  4. This is what was posted by "dillon" in a recent thread concerning someone thinking that they may have loaded a double charge.
  5. Funny how nobody ever bitches about Dillon when it comes to getting free warranty parts or free refurbs on the other presses. They only bitch when the press has an issue, or about a customer service reps, or the cost of parts.
  6. I load three calibers on my 650 and have never had an issue. If I had to startl over again I would definitely go with a 650.
  7. As always! If you have a little time to browse, you might do a search for other posts he has made, as they are always quite informative and helpful.
  8. Well, I had a typo as well.as a bad memory! I was loading the LSWC's at 1.245" and needed to load the 200 plated RN to 1.235"
  9. I load 200 LSWC's to 1.245", but when I tried X Treme 200 plated RN I was back to 1.190"-1.200" to get them to plunk in the same barrel.
  10. I use a Lee Bulge Buster and then load on a progressive using a de-capping/re-sizing die.
  11. I tried 9mm with the large plate and it jammed about every revolution, as two cases would drop into one slot.
  12. Buy the SDB, primers, and powder now and get loading. Start saving money and if you decide a 650 is really what you want, you can sell the SDB for about what you paid for it when you can afford the 650. I run my .40 cases through a Bulge Buster on a $20.00 single stage press prior to loading on a SDB You could easily do 500-750 rounds a month in a couple of evenings.
  13. That's what I have found as well, and have found no use for the stuff. I compared Bullseye and Red Dot it in .38 Spec and the Bullseye had a very hash recoil compared to the Red Dot. The Red Dot was much higher velocity with much less felt recoil ,as well as being far more accurate. I tried Bullseye in .45 and found the same when compared to other powders such as Clays and Red Dot. I think Bullseye is popular with the older crowd, as that's what they have always used and have just never compared it with other powders. YMMV
  14. The pins in the mold that create the hollow point appear to be adjustable. Retracting the pins slightly would result in a heavier bullet.
  15. If it's that loose you should be able to feel it when seating the primer on your press.
  16. My elbow pain started Sunday evening, I saw this thread on Tuesday and started the exercises immediately. Today my elbow is already 75% better after four days of exercising per the videos..
  17. I use my SDB's more than my 650 due to the convenience of having one SDB for 9mm and one for .40.. I've loaded thousands of .40 major rounds on my SDB and have never had any issues whatsoever.
  18. Wow, timely thread! I spent the last ten days working on drawing from the holster every night. Went to the range Sunday and did a hundred live fire draws Sunday evening my elbow/forearm hurt and Monday morning it was pretty sore! Just started with the exercises this morning. Thanks for the info on this!
  19. Make sure that you shell plate bolt has not loosened up.
  20. The old Hercules catalog shows 125 grain lead with a max load of 4.5 Red Dot at a minimum 1.150" COAL gets 1145 fps from a 4" barrel. Start low and work up at your own risk.
