    Getting Old

I have come to the conclusion that there are 2 good things about growing old. Grandkids and retirement! All the rest of it..........
  2. Yes you are, in open division. And you can probably get higher capacity mags.
  3. This!! Stop the bounce and that helps with broken screws.
  4. Ok! My tiny little hands and I will certainly keep that in mind.
  5. Haha. I only said it has worked well for me. Not that I'm any good. It certainly is not the glasses or the Infinity's that are holding be back!
  6. This is exactly what I did many years ago and it has worked very well for me. Takes about 15-20 minutes for my eyes to adjust to the glasses when I first put them on.
  7. One reason is because of case capacity. Not able to get enough slower powder in the 9mm case or if you are able it is very full and messy to reload.
  8. Rumor has it that SOF made that rule to eliminate the JP recoil eliminator comp from their competition.
  9. Not sure if this applies to all 3 gun matches but the most common max comp size is 1" diameter and 3" long.
  10. This may not be true for all barrels but I bet you will find that most 38 Super barrels are.355, same as the 9mm.
  11. Are the feed lips on the mags parallel and around .350?
  12. Rich, I am among many others that are praying for a miracle. Best of luck.
  13. I should clarify my statement about sometimes not turning the red dot on. Sometimes I will use the bead for birdshot targets, steel or clays.

    Zero distance

15 yds and at 50 I have to hold at the bottom of a 8" plate.
  15. I mounted my RL1050 flush with the bench and then cut a grove for the handle so it would be able to make a complete stroke.
  16. Been using a red dot on the shotgun for many years. I mainly want it for slugs at distance, much more accurate than a bead. A lot of times I will not even turn my red dot on, just use the fiber optic bead. For flyers you have to be careful and not "aim" at the clay but instead use the red dot as a bead, if that makes sense. Aiming will usually result in aiming directly at the clay. But with a little practice you can shoot fliers just as well as using the bead.
  17. Another thing you can do is put dryer sheets or strips of paper towel in while you are tumbling. They will capture a lot of the dirt.
  18. When someone wants to try my open pistol I always warn them that they better be prepared to buy a new gun!
  19. This takes care of the dust for me. Doesn't need it every time but maybe every 5-6 times I clean brass. A bonus is that is will clean the brass better.
  20. My JP has ran fine with JHPs from the start but I had a PSA that was not reliable with them until I broke the sharp corner on the chamber and polished it up good. It will run 100% with JHPs now also. That is one of the first things I would look at.
  21. My GMR13 will shoot very accurately with good quality jacketed bullets but only mediocre with coated or plated. Have seen the same results with other people's pcc also. I don't think the powder selection is as important as bullet selection.
  22. I had a friend that was in charge of a large match years ago and someone asked him if he would change the prize table to random draw. His reply was sure we can do that and we will also award the trophies by random draw! He explained that he felt prizes and trophies were supposed to be a recognition of how well you placed in the competition.
  23. Have you tried adjusting the OAL? I would try to shorten it some and see how that does.
  24. I would respectively disagree that random draw prizes are the only fair way to do it. Many people feel that prizes and trophies should be awarded by performance. So I don't think either way is necessarily the only fair way. My vote is to award prizes by performance. With that being said I agree that 13 stages are too many for 1 day, I think any more than 8 are too many for 1 day.
