  1. I don't know anything about these frames but with all the new technology they might be ok. I remember this same reaction when the frames with "plastic" grips came out!
  2. Well apparently it depends on the lot of brass. Just measured the flash hole on 2 once fired Norma brass I had in my range pickup bucket. One is .067 and one is .052. Therein lies the problem, for me anyway.
  3. Terrible!! The flash hole is too small and the decapping gets stuck in it. All I find go to the scrap bucket.
  4. What!! A lot of guys will call that hoarding. But I call it being prepared. I've done the same since Clinton was president and we could not get primers. I decided I wasn't going to get caught without again. Happened when Obama was president and now we have to deal with it again. Brings to mind the old story about the ant and the grasshopper. Which most people probably won't know.
  5. Yes sir. Those will fit the Versamax. At least they fit mine!
  6. Pretty sure it is the same as the 1100/870. I can check later. You
  7. Indeed it is a very difficult for this person but he is getting through it. I tried to post pics but they are too large. If you will give me an email I will send the pics to you then you can see if this might be helpful. Don
  8. Danbob,I too admire your determination and believe you will be able to do this and possibly more. Someone very close to me last their right arm just below their elbow last year. He was interested in shooting and has shot a few22 matches with me before the accident. So I made a stand to hold the 5 Ruger 22 mags and also put and attachment on it that he can cock the pistol with. I just used scrap lumber and stuff I had in my shop. I will get some pictures tomorrow and try to post them. They may too large to post so I might have to send them to your email. I would be happy to be of any assistance I can to help you get to where you can shoot matches safely and enjoy them.
  9. Hope your knees heal up and it all works out. I feel your pain! I had left knee replacement 16 months ago and it did not work out so just had it re-done last month. This one seems much better so I have high hopes I will back at the matches again also. Good luck!
  10. I have a 25 yd zero which puts me 3-4" low at 75. Really doesn't matter where it is zeroed as long as you know your holds at other yardage. Just depends what works best for each person.
  11. This of course depends on your ammo but out to 100 yards is pretty simple. When you get past that you better know your drop! Rio Salado club in AZ has an annual pcc match and you better know your drop to 150 and maybe even 200 yards At 100 yards I'm 6" low and at 150 I am 24" low.
  12. Check to see if the case mouth is the problem. I've had that happen and chamfered the case mouth to fix it.
  13. You did loosen the screw on the right side of the safety?
  14. The cases are not lined up with the die. That is not the die's fault. Check and see if there is media or some other crud in the shell holder that is preventing the cases from going in straight.
  15. I have found that as a general rule the HPs are more accurate than round nose also.
  16. This! You can save hundredths of a second with faster splits, where a lot of people try to save time. But you can save tenths of a second on transitions. After you follow through on your last shot immediately move your eyes to the next target then bring the dot or sights to your eyes.
  17. I'm helping all I can. I stopped buying primers about 3 years ago! But I will buy some more when prices get back to normal.
  18. If you have calipers measure the width of the feedlips. 40 mag should be .370-.380 38/9 mags should be .330-.350. These are approximate measurements but close enough for you to tell the difference.
  19. I put a post on your for sale ad. I feel fairly certain that the right mag is 38/9 by looking at the side panel. Hard to tell on the left one.
  20. 124JHP available right now.
  21. Haven't checked in a while but usually they would list them around 7:00-7:15 in the morning, Mountain time zone. All I have seen were 124JHP, 115rn and 180JHP.
  22. Some powders will cause a gun to get hotter than other powders. Maybe try different powder?
  23. I shoot a VR80 so the mag carriers should be the same. I use Kydex hangers that glue to the side of the mag. These have worked very well for me.
