  1. Hey Joe, you shoot a shadow, what front and rear sight do you have? Brand and size? I have the H-Tac rear (HAJO with a tactical cut) and I asked Stuart to mill down the standard Accu Shadow front sight to 1.00 for me. I believe the Accu comes with a 1.125?
  2. Here's my main gun with my 'eye of the tiger shirt.' I was 4th of 100+ in an all production/single stack match
  3. Any particular reason you want to go down that low? 9lbs just seems too risky.
  4. Thinner sights allow more light to get in as well as more of the target to be seen. When shooting mini poppers at 25 yards a thin sight can come in handy
  5. I also use the MecGar 10s (basically the 17's with a dimple) and they work great.
  6. That's something you don't see everyday. Good luck with the fix
  7. I have one in 9mm and love it. Crimp is set to .378 and 99% of my ammo case gauges in the Shock Bottle Hundo
  8. I shoot X-treme 147's in my Accu Shadow and while they feel less snappy than 124's they don't group as well. I've shot their 147/124's back to back and found the 124's to be more accurate. That said I'm down to about 5K of my 147's and will be moving to 135's for a change
  9. I'd leave it stock except for night sights honestly. Wouldn't want an extra reason for someone to blame me
  10. The HAJO has broken on me twice, both on my primary and backup gun. The pin that acts as a hinge for the sight to move up/down snapped in the middle on both guns. For my primary it happened after 7,000 rds and on the backup after 2,000 rds. I ended up using Loctite to hold it in place :/
  11. I think it's always beneficial to squad with people better than you are, especially if they shoot the same division. However, even if they're not in your division you can still learn a ton.
  12. I've had this exact same problem happen to a brand new AccuShadow and thought it was because I may have overpolished the sear/hammer. Turns out that the spring wasn't high enough for the trigger bar to ride on and engage the hammer. I bought a few spares from CZC and haven't looked back since. Don't know why it failed on me so fast as I had only had it for about 1 month before it happened. Don't be afraid to learn about your platform as you can quickly diagnose many of the problems and do your own work.
  13. Yeah me too. Especially after Steve's suggestion to look it up in the rule book lol
  14. Just got a reply from Troy and he said it's totally legal. That said if it ever goes BANG! then it's going to be a short day... Thanks for the responses guys
  15. Just sent this to Troy and waiting for his response. As far as advantages go for me it's about practicing draws with the full weight of the gun, ie: classifiers. Example - Fluffy's Revenge. Draw and shoot 3 paper and 2 steel. Drawing an empty gun is great but it doesn't reflect the true weight you'll have to work with. Many classifiers require a perfect draw to hit the higher levels of classification. I have a 91% coming in and only need another 95-100% to get bumped up.
  16. No I don't rack the slide/chamber until I'm gtg.
  17. Had this debate with a buddy of mine during practice. I tend to load a mag during MR to practice the draw for a particular drill and as I'm getting a sight picture I dry fire my DA trigger. Is this illegal/DQ-able? The argument he made was that the gun may be 'considered loaded' once the mag is inserted. Heading to Nat's in August so I definitely don't want to make a huge mistake...
  18. This is quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen someone do since joining USPSA. Thanks OP
  19. Well the first step is acknowledging the problem (ahem, IDPA) Welcome to USPSA! The DA shot is nothing to worry about. It's literally 5-6 shots in a 120-150 shot match
  20. The shot-calling portion was definitely innovative and useful to me. I wish he had a dozen or so examples of shots where the viewer could 'guess' where the shot went. I think he had 2 or so but damnit, I want more
  21. ^^ Good to know, thanks!
