After looking at more data it seems like a better fit for 9mm would be 124 gr @ 4.2 for a 130 PF. I'll be trying that load instead of the 147

This is what I read too but if I can use it for dual purpose that'd be best case. What gr bullet do you run with for 40?

I bought some of this because I've read of people using it for both 9mm and 40 S&W. I'm going to dabble in limited sometime early next year so I figured what the heck. Right now I'm shooting Prod and running 147 gr bullets. Just checking to see if anyone has had any luck making 125 PF in 9mm with this powder as Hodgdon only has 1 sheet on data

I thought it was a good question so I emailed Amidon. I sometimes have trouble reaching into my pocket and would much rather pull from magnet. Unfortunately, however, you cannot use the magnet regardless if it's not during the COF. His response is below

Out of my CZ Accu Shadow they felt like mouse farts, but take into account that I'm switching to an all metal gun from a Glock 34. That said I found no signs of overpressure. Looking at the spent cases the primers looked normal/not flattened out one bit. Very clean so far. Will be making a larger batch of 50-100 tonight so I can shoot some groups tomorrow

Just got back from the range and here's what I found regarding CSB-1: X-treme 147 gr (.356 diameter), 3.6 gr, 1.13" OAL, mixed brass, Winchester SPP ---> 127 PF X-treme 147 gr (.356 diameter), 3.8 gr, 1.13" OAL, mixed brass, Winchester SPP ---> 128-129 PF

Just got my new chrono in the mail today so I'll be able to give a PF tomorrow too

Shot the loads today from my G34/KKM barrel and they came out like mouse-farts. Groups were inconsistent @ 15 yrds. I'm guessing it definitely needs more than 3.2 gr @ 1.13" (Winchester Primers) so I'll be bumping up to 3.4 and 3.6 tomorrow. Also shot it from a CZ Accu Shadow and pretty much the same results. Powder is fairly clean though, no issues

Just picked mine up today and I can definitely see where the 'Accu' comes in. 99% of my shots landed in an 8" Shoot N C from 15 yards freestyle. Didn't really have a hard focus either as I just wanted to feel the recoil. I'm coming from a G34 so it's like night and day. My only complaint is that the fit/finish is really sub par. The red dot for the safety looks like a 6 year old painted it on and the barrel looks like scrap metal with a polish feed ramp and chamber. Not sure if it's worth the money just yet, only time will tell

In regards to stage design. I see them used in classifiers but I don't understand the correlation/terminology

Be careful with that as shooting steel can give you some bad habits. I had the same 'epiphany' you did when I shot my first steel match and quickly realized that I still needed a sight picture. When you're hitting steel it can very well be a Delta but don't notice it because all you look for is the "DING!" Also it's easier to call shots on steel and quickly shoot a makeup but on paper you don't have that advantage

I think the cheapest I've found was on SC for $160. And if they're sold out there you can always get it directly from KKM. I bought mine direct and got it within 4-5 days. Same price as SC but cheaper shipping IIRC

I'm with you on the grips, wish you could choose. After I shot the gun a few times I knew the grips had to change or I had to add grip tape. I found some nice textured grips at CZ-USA and love the extra grip I get out of them. Would be nice like you said to be able to chose. I know if you get a gun from Automatic Accuracy you can choose what grips you want......VZ, CZ, etcHere are mine now. Love the extra grip, and it makes the gun look nice! Nice grips! I checked the CZ custom shop but it looks like they don't sell them. Is that where you them? The CZ usa site seems to sell firearms no parts

Don't think of it as "going faster" think of it as moving more efficiently. My guess it that not only are you getting into/out of position slower but you probably have more shooting psitions than the competition as well. Learn how to navigate the stages properly by not having to do the ol' step-stop-shoot, step-stop-shoot. 1. Plan ahead and minimize the amount of distance you need to cover in order to hit your targets 2. Be ready to shoot the sec you get into position (gun high ready) 3. Be ready to move the sec you call your last shot (lean out or explode out) All these things save time, not just 'shooting faster' or moving quickly

I still consider myself a noob and I shoot a Glock 34. It's easy to operate, clean and work on. It's also fairly inexpensive and has a ton of aftermarket support. If you can find a Gen 4 that's even better, I prefer using the medium beaver tail grip

No I believe they only come in black, gray, red or blue

Broke down and bough the TTI base pads. The Dawson's were great but the TTI just feels better and has more 'real estate' to grab onto. Worth the money imo

I had the same issue as OP and went with the G34. Long story short I am VERY happy I did and if I had bought the G17 I would always have that lingering 'if only I had waited and saved a bit more I could have gotten the 34' It's worth it IMO

Why a night sight? FO would be much more effective unless it's a carry gun

I also use cleats (1 pair of Nike Alpha Sharks, 1 Pair of Addidas) both are for football. Salomons are cool too but cleats are more effective at my range(s) where we run on gravel. The biggest advantage besides getting a better grip is that you lessen the chances of actually taking a fall and possibly injuring someone/getting DQ'd. It looks like grass at your local range which will be ok in the summer but once it begins to rain it will be slippery as sh**

The adjustable rears are a good option but you can also just file down your rear sights a few hundredths of an inch for free!

I'm not sure I agree with this. It would be terrible learning to go from striker fire to a DA/SA pistol. Glock triggers suck out of the box which is why you see so many people buying new connectors, trigger kits, springs, polishing etc etc.

I am by no means an expert and am still learning myself. But the following advice comes from having had (or still having) some of the same issues. Therefore I'll pass along what people have told me and that I had observed from your video: 1. You're clearly a good shot, but it looks like you miss a few shots when you speed up. Your splits are a bit fast and there's virtually no difference in your splits from close targets to farther targets. It's either you're shooting too fast/slow on one set and I'm guessing it's too fast at your further targets. It's noticeable on stage 1 and the last stage. You missed alot of shots on steel not because you can't hit them but because you're shooting too quick. This is something I am currently working on as we speak and I can see a BIG difference in my accuracy when I take that extra tenth or two-tenths of a sec to let the sights settle. 2. You're really quick on your feet but tend to drop the gun low when moving into/out of position. You can lose time from having to lower and raise then gun, thus spending more time finding your sights.This is something I also had trouble with but with alot of dryfire and practice sessions I've gotten much better.
