  1. I believe the rail length is the same for both the full size and the Target... For now anyway. I am back home so I can't test but I suspect that slide would work just fine on a full size. The FCU does have some changes that reportedly make this a standalone but I haven't taken the target apart to see exactly what those are. Although it runs well as is this gun is still a prototype so it's possible that some of the details will change between now and when it is released.
  2. 1. 3.5lb out of the box. Aftermarket also available from Bruce Gray. One I tested on range day in a standard P320 was about 2 and 3/4lb. 2. Let me ask. my best guess would be somewhere in the 33 ounce range 3. I don't have the exact dimensions but there is no restriction on the front-to-back mag well opening. Notice that the rule cited below says "opening MAY BE MORE THAN 1/4" - Most people read that assuming there should be a "NOT" in there but in the current rulebook there is none. When not shooting production there is a factory magwell extension and factory 140mm base pads for 23 rounds of 9mm. Tim Herron has a writeup and some more pictures on his page. https://www.facebook.com/TimHerronShooting/
  3. The goal here is to have a very competitive Production gun out of the box. Let me know if you are looking for any particular details and I will see if it's something that I can share.
  4. No, since the Production weight limit is +2oz over each gun's factory weight. I didn't weigh it but suspect it's less than 35 Oz as is.
  5. I have been down this road. Since the P320 has a trigger actuated reset it needs a small amount of overtravel after the striker is released. You can remove the small amount or try to retime the reset but you won't gain enough to justify the effort.

    P320 Slides

It way not 3D printed. It's molded but talking to Phil it sounds like he has a couple of enhancements that he would still like to see. The texturing is actually recessed areas for grip tape or other grip jobs (like glue and grit) of your choice to allow you to go as aggressive as you like.
  7. No long slide with Romeos just yet. The SIG Optics guy I asked said that optics should be available on it on the future. I had previously heard that the Romeo 1 was scheduled to start shipping this quarter and as soon as that happens then expect to see the complete P320 RX hitting the shelves. Another guy told me as early February or March. The Romeo 1 is pretty interesting itself. Lock screws are not needed to make adjustments and the adjustments are 1/2 MOA clicks.
  8. I just got one of these in for testing so I can let you know soon on performance. Obsidian Arms is a small shop run by a very friendly and helpful husband and wife team. They turn out some really nice and very well priced ARs and accessories. I have been using their P320 base pads for the last year and love them. I think this brake has a lot of potential. It's priced at $55 ( http://www.obsidianarms.com/product-p/oatbc.htm) which is an extremely good value and like some of the more popular brakes it's tunable through drilling out the top ports. I will try to get some video of shooting it but might not be able to for a week because of Shot Show. Here is a better picture showing the chambers:

    P320 OAL?

With 9 I had a similar experience. I was loading 147gr BBI at 1.135 and it ran perfectly for thousands of rounds; however, as my 13lb Wolff spring wore down I had two occasions where a bullet stopped on the feed ramp. This was after about 5k rounds on the recoil spring so I was overdue to replace it. After replacing the recoil spring I also reduced my OAL down to 1.10" as a precaution to assure I had no similar issues in the future.

    P320 Slides

If you are shooting Production then .40 Minor is always a possibility. The current 9mm design had reliable function of frangible ammo as a requirement so it's pretty light and I definitely wouldn't recommend any additional lightening. There has been a lot discussion and some testing about what the ideal weight would be for the 9mm slide. Some shooters prefer the current weight and others prefer less internal lightening. If a competition model of the P320 were to come out this season I would expect the slide to weigh a bit more than the current slide.
  11. I haven't tried JB weld. I have been using Loctite Marine epoxy.
  12. Harbor Freight Tools sells a small pack of rock polishing abrasive and the most aggressive is around 36 grit. Otherwise: http://www.therockshed.com/

    Sig MPX

See Springer's solution above to avoid tax stamp and save a bit of money on the stock.
  14. I have been doing a lot of this on SIG P320s. The entire P320 grip is non serialized and runs $45 or less so it makes a great platform for experimentation. 36 grit has been the favorite for competition unless you have someone who wants to shift his grip for mag changes. In that case I am doing 46/70 for the most part of it. 46/70 has been my standard for "Duty" guns as well. I think this feels the most like standard grip tape, but maybe a touch more aggressive and much more durable. 80 grit works pretty well for IWB carry and the like but doesn't perform as well as the other two options.
  15. Right, I know swapping to a single sided safety from another production gun is fine. Based on the the rulebook, I don't think you can just take the right side off an ambi safety and be legal. Hence why I asked if there was a somewhere stating that you could just remove the right side safety per waktasz's suggestion. Is there a Production gun that comes with that configuration? If there is then I would say, "game on."
  16. Yes, I have modded a few grips for this. Works great.
  17. Looking through the production appendix I don't see where this is allowed. I would assume removing the right side would be considered a modification and be prohibited. You'd have to replace it with a factory single sided safety. Is there a ruling that states otherwise? You could swap basic external parts with ones from other guns from the same manufacturer that are also on the Production list.
  18. Yes, NFA SBRs should be allowed. Otherwise I would have to buy another MPX since I am SBRing the one I have. In the scenario described even dropping a 16" upper on my NFA SBR wouldn't be legal.
  19. Is that legal in CO? It's attached there. This mount fits into the rear sight dovetail. It doesn't say it can't overhang.
  20. I have no idea if it would be better or worse in the long run for CZ and CZC but the weight limit seems to have made a lot more people take a hard look at the P-09 and will likely prompt more rance parts and support in the future for this line of CZ guns. Realistically most people are going to buy another gun to shoot the division anyway, although I completely understand the desire to keep platforms similar across multiple divisions.

    Bullet weight?

I shot a DeltaPoint equipped P320 today and when back and forth between a 147gr and a 124gr load. For CO It looks like I am sticking with the 124. It just seems to track better.
  22. Interim set up until the SIG Romeo 1 MRDS is available.
