    Riddle me this?

That's interesting. Try this method out next time. I also cover triggerbar spring inspection.
  2. Richc, I apologize. There have been lots of posts recommending things like "Production 15" to try to make a point about how they feel about the current provisional divisions. Now that I read yours again you seem to be offering a way to organize and try things out versus making an attempt to thumb your nose at the current new initiatives. My bad.
  3. Thanks for the pics, I guess mini/micro red dot definition, is following the avg weight of Americans.Glad I went with a JPoint over them. You might be confused. The Romeo3 (pictured here) is the larger of the SIG reflex sights, similar to a C-More RTS2. The Romeo1 is the one designed for pistol mounting smaller (see post above comparing three) and is somewhere around the size of a DeltaPoint-Pro
  4. Scott Springer at Springer Precision has access to a Romeo1 now so that he can start to develop mounts. You might hit him up with that question.
  5. C-More RTS2, SIG Romeo1, Burris FastFire
  6. Here is a helpful window comparison between a DeltaPoint and an RMR
  7. More on the SIG SAUER Romeo 3. It actually looks like it might be an updated RTS2. It would be very interesting to do some more detailed examination to see exactly what had been changed aside from the basic shape and a slightly better price.

I looked around but unfortunately couldn't find where the heck I put that extra striker safety spring. Sorry I can't help you with that. A video might help to better grasp what's going on. I saw your new striker safety arm (or whatever you call it). We had one Team SIG guy break one of the old ones so it looks like there has been a redesign; however, the function looks like it should be the same. See if you can get what you are talking about on video.
  9. Start positions rarely add anything significant to the stage. At best they are a gimmick trying to distract you for that first second or two until you actually get to the shooting. You could arbitrarily change most start positions to a single standard one for PPC and it would change almost nothing about a stage or a match. Start positions alone definitely should not be the reason to throw in the towel on PCC. Prop manipulation and one handed shooting would be much more difficult and requires some thought and adaptation but would represents a small minority of stages shot at a typical match.
  10. Same goes for Irons and Optics. Both should be competing in the same division. The longer sight radius makes irons more effective than the pistol equivalent but also it is very easy to toss a dot on almost any PCC out there.
  11. Is that the Springer Precision +10 MPX extension or is Dawson making one as well now? Having a reliable 40 rounds to run with on stages would be great for sure. With the MPX of course it ships with 30 round magazines that don't have a pistol equivalent so whatever we do please don't stick us with a 140mm or 170mm restriction.

I am trying to order one of the side folding aluminum ones. I think those feel good and look even better. I wasn't impressed with the feel of the collapsible ones and don't like the looks of the side fold, extendable one. My second choice is going to be one of Springer Precision's MagPul Yugo adapters. That's probably the most practical choice. http://shop.springerprecision.com/product.sc?productId=369&categoryId=45 I still have the pistol brace on currently. I actually find that fairly comfortable but every time I use it someone is going to be assuming that I am breaking the law (I am not because SBR).
  13. And a bag is a lot harder to drag around in your back pocket than a chamber flag. Remember that on most stages you don't stop at the same place that you start the stage so either you need a bag caddie or have to scramble during UASC every time. Chamber flags are a sufficient way to safely move long guns back and forth from the line while demonstrating that they are safe. Bagging will slow things down for sure and presents more opportunities for fumbling.
  14. NOT TRUE - I have my feet swept by other people's holstered pistols all the time at USPSA handgun matches. It is just that we (rightly) regard a holstered pistol to be inert and inherently safe. I trust Troy to establish gun handling protocols that will render PCCs equally safe when off the line. That would mean putting the rifle in a case or holster. Equally as safe as a holster is a holster or Chamber flag? Is this going to be a standardized piece of equipment? Yes, it should be. Bagging long-ish guns at the line is a hassle and takes a lot of time. 3 Gun has standardized on chamber flags to show safe for all long guns. Even then you should still be carrying "muzzle up" or "muzzle down" when going to or coming from the line.

  16. +1 I say keep it. We actually want people shooting CO to have CO guns versus showing up at a major match and deciding that there is too much heat in Production, so let's just shoot in CO; similar to what happens with Limited and L10.
  17. It would be great to know of we could add external weight now.
  18. Here is a bit more on the design of the Romeo1. I found the epoxy part very interesting as that was one method of aftermarket bullet proofing Doctor sights early on.

I just shoot their guns and unfortunately the only experience I have is on the Gen 1 which runs all day long on anything I have put in it (granted that is limited to 147gr BBI and 124gr JHP reloads). I would definitely encourage you to try SIG customer service if it continues to give you issues.
  20. If the dot breaks in Open, what do you do? Shoot another gun, which is often either a regular Limited gun (major) or a Production gun (minor). And if a gun breaks down it often ruins a stage, so you're out of contention for the Winnebago anyway. At a local match I typically take 1 gun, anything beyond a Level 1 match I have a backup gun. I'm sure most of you do too. Past weekend at our local match a buddy mine had trouble with his open gun so I loaned him an STI LIMITED gun in .40 so he could shoot the last stage. If he was in carry optics couldn't do it since an optic is required. I think requiring an optic is a bad idea. And this is a good example why. Also, he couldn't have done it because your STI LIMITED gun isn't remotely legal for CO. You are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find reasons why CO is a bad idea.

That doesn't hurt my feelings. They have a boatload of new product that they are trying to juggle.

Check this video. SIG doesn't recommend mixing Gen 1 and Gen 2 guns and mags.
